Default TLC451~Revisit TLC211 Treat Purse Makeover {10-14-13}

Hello Technique Lovers! So glad to be back so soon with another fun technique. Jenn here revisiting a Treat Purse done back in 2009 by "Lynn in St. Louis" The original TLC211 can be found here . Her technique involved two separate pieces of paper to create the treat purse. My twist is to use only one piece of 8.5 x 11 cardstock to create almost the same purse. In my first photo below you will see an 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock scored in several places. Note the orange shaded area is for your adhesive. For the second picture below I have 5 steps to showing what the scored project looks like and how to add the handle and Velcro closure.

Steps to second picture below:
1. This is what your treat purse should look like after you score all lines.
2. Here is what it looks like with the center starting to take shape.
3 This is what it should look like after you glue the orange shaded areas from picture one.
4. To create a handle I choose a scrunchy elastic ribbon. I cut 2 pieces 6" long, Also cut 2 pieces of paper 3/4" x 4.5". These will be used to cover the area where you adher your ribbon to the main part of the purse. In this step you can see where I added my ribbon with double sided adhesive then I take one of the paper strips and adhere it over where I have attached my ribbon.
5. I have attached Velcro in the center on the inside of my treat bad. This will keep it closed. You can also use a brad, magnet, punch holes and pull ribbon through and tie to secure it closed. Anything you have would work fine.

Thank you for trying out my twist on the treat purse. Hope you find it easy. Any questions let me know.

Can't wait to see your projects!!!

I've started one which I'll finish off tomorrow. I was just trying to work out from the diagram how to fold the narrow scored borders at the top. I folded them down to the inside, but that seems to be where you have stuck the extra strips over the ribbon?
Thanks, Jenn.

You actually fold them back instead of in. They will end up being as is once your have glued everything together. Then you can either stick Velcro on the inside or punch holes and add ribbon...etc! Let me know if this helps.

Too late, LOL - I'd burnished them and I couldn't straighten them without it looking odd. But I did my best .
