I know it is just Sunday afternoon, but I am going to have to post early. I hope that is ok with everyone. I have several graduation parties to attend with my kids. I know I will be too worn out to post later.
Holly asked me several weeks ago to be the hostess for this week’s Technique Lovers Challenge.
Do you remember TLC300 when Holly challenged us to combine old challenges? Nikki made a fantastic card that combined the challenges. I asked Nikki if we could use her card as the inspiration for this week’s challenge and she graciously said yes. You can see Nikki’s card here and here.
I put together a video onMY BLOG***I have music on my blog so if you don't want to listen, scroll to the bottom of my blog and you can turn the music off.***that shows how to make a 6 fold card. My family always likes cards that “Do” something. This technique reminded me of the stacking dolls where there is a doll inside a doll inside a doll. I hope you all have fun with this technique. I can’t wait to see what you all create.
Well I am fold challenged but I'll give it a try tomorrow. Unpacking from one business trip last week to Napa and now another to Laguna Beach on Wednesday! At least they are nice places but I sure wanna just stay home! LOL!
MariLynn, I'm going to give this a try tonight. Thanks for the challenge.

I did it, I did it, I finished this tonight!
Here is my card closed, and opened.
Thanks for the great challenge!

oh wow! I can't wait until tomorrow so I can get this made! I don't think the kids and the hubby are going to let me have some alone time on a holiday. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this tutorial!
Wow, what a lovely card. Looks like it is going to take a while to complete this one, but can't wait to give it a try. Unfortunately probably not able to get to it today. Difinitely want to learn this technique. Thanks for sharing.
Any chance on a WRITTEN version of the directions...
Cant be running back and forth to the computer to the craft desk, I have 6 days off and would love to give this card a shot... Looks FABULOUS, couldn't post a comment on your blog but I tried... over and over and over...

I wrote directions from the video so I could do the card.
Piece 1
2 1/4 x 7: Score at 2 and 5.
Piece 2
3 1/4x7 3/4:Score at 2 and 5 1/4.
Fold along the score lines.
Piece 3
3 1/2 x 10 1/2: Score at 3 1/2 and 7
With piece 3 horizontal so it's the long way on each end piece draw a line from the top, right corner to the bottom left corner. I used my bone folder to do this so I wouldn't have to erase pencil lines.
Cut on those lines and fold. These pieces when folded should form a square.
Assembly of card:
Fold piece 1 together and put adhesive on the back of the center area. Attach the back of piece one to the bottom section of piece 2.
Put adhesive on the center of Piece 3 and place the center section of piece 2 on top of piece 3.
Glue piece 3 to a piece of cardstock that is 3 3/4 x 3 3/4.
Belly Band is 1 x 11: Score at 3 1/2 and 7 1/4.
Fold and glue band closed. Add a decoration.
Add designer paper and stamped images.
Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write the directions for the six fold card. That was so nice of you!
You are so welcome. Can't wait to see what everyone makes for this challenge. The only way I could do this was because I'm off today! LOL

Thanks Sue for writting those directions out. I'm sorry I didn't have a written out one. I would have been here earlier, but my house got vandalized last night with peanut butter, chocolate syrup and toilet paper. Had to deal with police this morning. My daughter has an extreme allergy to peanuts. I feel like a nervous wreck. I am looking forward to perusing the gallery. Hopefully that will calm me down.
Oh, Marilynn, How awful that you had to deal with that mess! I've never thought it was funny to T.P. a house, but to add peanut butter and chocolate syrup ... much, much worse. Yuk! I do hope your daughter was able to keep from coming in contact with or even be near the peanut butter. God bless you with peace as you deal with the mess and recover from the anxiety.
I'm still contemplating your challenge and may get something done by this evening.

Thank you Val. My daughter was able to avoid it last night, but there is still residue and even the tiniest bit, even smell can cause her problems. It is going to take a lot of cleaning before I can feel safe letting her drive or ride in it.
Thanks so much for the challenge and for the written instructions...I usually do better with the written rather than the video's as I can take the written ones into my craft room...unfortunately my computer is not in there yet...
MariLynn I am so sorry to hear about the mess created by insensitive mean people...hopefully your dd won't get sick from it...

I just wasn't thinking things through. I apologize for not having them written out as well. Maybe next time... ;)
My daughter has been able to stay away from it so far, but it is scary. Last year she had several really bad episodes because of her peanut allergy. That led to us getting epi-pen prescriptions. It is scary when your child can't breathe because of peanut butter. We took out anything in our house that might have had nuts or been processed with nuts. And we are extremely careful with her food. She doesn't even eat lunch at the school because they serve peanut butter from time to time. It just made me furious that after all that we did to keep her safe, some punks would put in under the door handle on the truck she drives, and thinks that it is a joke. Sorry to be long winded, but apparently I am still very angry.

OK, where I live that is a Felony Harassment... the knowledge of the allergy, which obviously exists due to the use and location... That is SO SO SO WRONG on SO many levels... I am SO sorry for nasty lil brat face kids bullying your daughter AND the rest of the family! :(

YAY!!! This was gonna be my next choice! LOL play/pause/write...play/pause/write! LOL I am SUPER excited to play along with this!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
NO WORRIES MariLynn about not having them... I'm a bit "high maintenance"!!
Marilynne, again, I'm so sorry for your problems. It would be difficult not to get angry. You and dd are in my prayers.
Thank you so much for this challenge! I really enjoyed it and will enjoy making other cards now that I've been through the "agony" of making the first one.

MariLynn, I'm so sorry you and your daughter had to go through this. What a horrible ordeal. I'm praying that you will be able to calm down and get past this with no more problems for your daughter. I don't understand people who do this kind of prank. May God hold you near and give you peace my friend. You are so welcome for the written directions. I wrote them down from your video so it was no big deal to type them. We're all in this together. That's the beauty of SCS! Hugs...

Since we are talking about abuse here a bit, I"ll share mine. 2 weeks ago, I was flying for business from Sacramento to Onatario (California)/. I'm a CPA and was wearing a business suit (skirt). I set off no alarms going through standard tsa screening. then, it started. They Yell 0 NO ALARM PAT DOWN NEEDED!. It was horrible. I was put into a glass room first, then they told me I would be touched from my waist to my ankles. They were annoyed when I said I wished this in private. the woman told me to "spread em" and then she put her hands under my skirt on my underpants and groped and squeezed my private parts. she went under my waistband. all down the thighs. She touched and squeezed everywhere. I was crying and shaking when it was done. Just thought I would share this. Not pleasant. TSA says its their standard operating procedure and they did nothing wrong. Nor did I. they literally suggested I either wear a mini skirt or tight blue jeans in future so I would not be suspect to hiding something.

disgusting!
So sorry you had to go through that. I've been hearing more and more stories like that. Some people have tried to sue, but they don't get anywhere. I pray that you'll be able to put it behind you and not have recurring disturbing memories of the ordeal. May God grant you peace.
Marilynn, so sorry for the issues you are having with vandals. love the card folds. ps I love your devotionals on your blog - you always lift my spirits. now I will lift you in prayer - you and your family
