With Covid started shutting down it closed off many of us from travel. This weeks challenge we will be creating cards with an Orient theme. I look forward to seeing what inspires your card from the Orient.

We’re heading to Virginia this week. SCS Stampin'nana/Roberta requested a teaparty for our recipient, Paul, who experienced a double tragedy last month. Sadly, Paul’s mother (Betty) passed away on December 13, due to Covid, and, his wife of 31 years, Chanda, passed away on December 22, also due to Covid. Paul, understandably, is experiencing so much grief so Roberta thought some paper hugs would help brighten his day and lift his spirit. She said she went to church with Paul and Chanda for many years, so religious, sympathy, thinking of you, hello, etc. cards would be appropriate. In addition to sending cards to Paul, let’s keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

we used to have Mandarin ducks in one of the ponds in the park, but sadly I have not seen them for at least two years. On the other hand, my colouring has improved no end since I first got that stamp over twelve years ago.

Sweet Lisa - I have been eagerly awaiting today's challenge every since I saw the Teapot Teaser on Sunday as I do love all things oriental having lived there for 4 years!
Here is my card for Paul which was totally inspired by the Teapot you shared.
Recently bought this boy and girl stamp, knowing it would come in handy some day. Today is that day! Great challenge Lisa!!

I have nothing with an Oriental theme, but will send a religious sympathy card. What a heartbreaking way to end the year... my prayers are with Paul and his families...
Here is my card for Paul. Since I have not created a card in awhile, I thought I would start with a teapotter card since they make me feel happy inside when I lift someone else up.
This week while playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking, I am trying to use the more current challenges that fit my card design first instead of catching up on the oldest first. I am following the theme of the visiting the Orient as the challenge requires, but my card will be for my oldest daughter for Mother's Day.
Note: Traditional colors seen in Chinese art use the five elements: fire=red; earth=yellow; water=black; Wood=blue; and metal=white. I have incorporated four of the five elements in my card.
