Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!

Many of you heard the sad news that our friend Karen Margotta-Art Deco Diva lost her battle with cancer on April 19th. She was such a kind, sweet person, beloved by many on SCS. She was an Alpha Sister, a Teapotter, and a Dirty Girl. If you’re unfamiliar with her cards, I urge you to check out her gallery.
Let’s honor Karen’s memory and send cards of condolence and support to her husband Mark.
CHALLENGE: Be inspired by Karen’s gallery or roses, her favorite flower. Make a card in her style or CASE one of your favorites. Be sure to tell us which card inspired you.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT721 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

Karen and I were good friends, she battled with this cancer for almost three years. I am missing her terribly. I pray for Mark, and anyone else who will pray I know he will appreciate it.
Polly thank you for doing this challenge.

Hi
I really CASE'd this card- used violets instead of a bigger stamp and added a die cut w/sentiment. Sweet sweet Karen, she was such a wonderful lady : )
So glad to see us ho bring our dear friend, Karen. I know she is missed by many. I love what Jean said: "she sassed the heck out of cancer." That describes Karen to a tee. I had already sent a card to Mark before I knew about the Tea Party.
I loved cards using the two step stamp method, and after seeing Jacquelines beautiful card, I dug my free gift from scrapbook.com stamp set and tried it. I do need a little more practice, but I also like the results.
Hi Polly. I did send a card to Mark after Karen’s passing and have posted it below. Unfortunately I can’t make another one at present to send as we are travelling until end July. I miss our dear friend and her emails and pms. I have a few of Karen’s cards and shall treasure them.

Here's my card for Mark. So sad and hard to believe Karen is gone. I hope he finds some comfort in all of the cards he receives. I cased Karen's card, "Celebrate Life," which she always did, no matter what! In Karen's Memory by JRHolbrook at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks, Polly. Making a rose card for Karen made me realize how infrequently I make flower cards. I believe I will think of Karen whenever I make a future flower card. Her gallery will always inspire
Jan-Precious Kitty just shared this on the Tell a Teapotter thread....in case you missed it;
"I got an email from Mark Margotta; and I am sharing it with you all, because he wanted to thank everyone who sent him a card. He is very grateful. Here it is:

I haven't been checking in here with the Teapot challenge regularly. I am soooo glad I did this week. I would have hated to have missed this opportunity. I adored Karen and was wondering how she had been doing. Thank you Polly for putting this together. It is such a wonderful part of our community to honor those that have been with us, especially.
