Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
It's the last Tuesday of the month so that means it's time for our Teapot Tuesday Tickle Challenge
This week's challenge is brought to you by guest hostess: (Yay, we can add images again). bubblestx4, Linda.
CHALLENGE:
Why is it that June is the most popular month to marry in western culture? The reasons are many, starting with the most practical of all - In the "olden days", if a bride married in June, she was more likely to give birth to her first child in early spring, giving her plenty of time to recover before helping with the fall harvest.
It is also cited that the popularity of a June wedding in European tradition is because bathing was much less frequent during middle ages than in modern times. Nobility tended to only bathe monthly or a few times a year. The peasant class might only bathe once a year and that bath usually happened in late spring. So it made sense to marry in June because people would have smelled better for their weddings. Brides also carried bouquets of fragrant herbs and flowers to help keep everything smelling sweet.
In many societies the color white has long been associated with purity and virtue, and that is one reason why many brides choose to wear white, especially in the West.
My challenge to you, today is to create a white on white card. Think white on white embossing (wet or dry), layered white die cuts, white embellishments - Open your mind to possibilities and combinations and share your white on white delights.
SEND CARDS TO: This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other!
Check out THIS NEW THREAD in the TEApot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions. Make sure to sign up by bedtime on Saturday 3rd July, 2021 Your destination recipient will be PM'd to you.

It took me a while to get my mind in gear - I think the last white on white card I made was for my in-laws wedding anniversary some number of years back. But I had great fun making this - thanks, Linda.
And I will be along with another card later,. Working from home this morning; a scheduled power outage meant that I had to tote all my work stuff upstairs to my attic, where I could rely on a decent mobile data signal. So in between work I am getting to craft.
INPUT from our AUSSIE friends, please!!
As I was writing the challenge and back history, my sources all tended to be about Northern hemisphere countries. Yesterday the thought hit me - what about Australia??? Can our Aussie friends enlighten us? Since your seasons are polar opposites from mine, is October or November considered the optimal month for brides?? Of course these days with heating & cooling, marriages can and do take place at all times of the year. . . I was thinking more about the REALLY olden days before the advent of central heating & cooling. Enquiring minds (mine) wants to know . . . .

Sabrina a great challenge; and it was a challenge! It is hard to do everything in white.

Thanks for the fun challenge Linda. I started out thinking I was going to do elegant flourishes and floral backgrounds, and ended up going in a completely different direction. Here is my card.
OK ladies. Help. Has there been a change or upgrade? I can't copy and paste my card to this link. Any techy help will so appreciated.

Linda, I would say yes and certainly demand for wedding venues is high from September onwards and I believe October is a prime month. Having said that, our two boys chose June and May respectively simply that they offer great deals during these months. We were fortunate to have good weather too.
In England the main month for weddings used to be March after the war, which was so they could get in just before the end of the tax year on 31st March and hence claim more lol.
Thank you for the challenge.

I was able to put it in my gallery with the MMTPT675; but now what?
thanks for any help I can get. 🙂🙃
Here is my card, ist card since my surgery. I'm doing good and have to rethink how I make cards . Getting a portable drafting table to help from bending my neck for long periods of time.

Did anyone reply with PM to your questions? If not I can help. I don't want to type a bunch if someone has already answered, although I don't see your card in this thread.

No, but after I posted that my card showed up with the others. Not sure how that happened
But thank you for reaching out to me.

The keywords take a short while to sync. If, after you upload your card, you click on the keyword in your card and it takes you to the gallery, then your card will be there shortly. On the other hand, if you click on the link in your card and it takes you somewhere else altogether, you probably made a typo and need to edit it. Then it takes even longer to sync...I know!!

It does take a while for the cards to enter the gallery, moderators make that happen. It happens more quickly if you're a fan club member. I thought you meant you wanted to post your card to the thread like many of us do. If you would like to know that, please PM me. Glad you're here.
