Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: susieaustralia/Susie
CHALLENGE:
Carla has given us lots of terrific information to work with, or you can take your inspiration from the teapot or cookies. I thought it might be fun to have some unity with all of our cards by using photo corners or decorative corners, on our card.
There is a great tutorial HERE for faux photo corners.
If you would like some extra cookies, write a few little knock knock jokes and pop them in the envelope (no need to share them in your write-up, unless of course you want to ).
CARD TYPE/THEME: Cheerful, Thinking of You, Sunshine, Hello, Silly cards for the kids would be great. No Sympathy cards - please keep it light.
Covington Crafter, aka Carla, requested this week’s teaparty for her 2nd cousin, LeAnna. LeAnna's husband died in late January, leaving behind an 11 year old daughter, Abby, and an 8 year old son, Aric. They're all still struggling with his loss and the added stress of COVID and being quarantined adds to the struggle. Abby is taking it especially hard and LeAnna is trying to hold it all together. They all could use some cheering up. LeAnna Anderson loves gardening and music, Abby enjoys talking to friends, puzzles and loves dogs and cats - she has a chihuahua, and Aric loves the outdoors, cars and bright colors.
SEND CARDS TO: LeAnna, Abigail & Aric Anderson 3702 Fillmore Rd. JOHNSBURG IL 60051-5140

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to jacqueline via PM or e-mail [email protected] Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

Reason: Change of address.
I wanted to work a knock-knock joke across the panels inside, but my brain was too tired. This was fun to make, and I hope LeAnna and the kids like it. It must be so much harder to deal with grief and loss at this time :-(.
everyone is so creative ! Love the cards. I will make a card for each: LeAnna, Abby and Aric. Not sure what I'll make yet, but I will make them today and have them in the mail tomorrow.
Wonderful cards in the gallery and from so many places! I'm going to suggest that LeAnna put up a map and track where the cards came from. They will love seeing where all the paper hugs came from. Thank you for bringing much needed cheer into their lives.
I can't even imagine, brings back memories of my best friend's Dad dying when we were 8. I forgot about the photo corners and knock knock jokes, but I bet I can still fit them in:
A day late and a pound short. So here is my card. Thanks Susie for the challenge, it was certainly fun to do this for a family who needs cheering on. I had tears in my eyes the whole time making this card. I know they are going to love all our cards.
God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us ... being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8 & 9
I really wanted to send a card to this family and also some Aussie stickers or something Australian to the children. I did make a zoo fun card yesterday but it took forever and didn’t come out well. I’m going to see whether I can salvage it today otherwise will raid my stash and send a fun card with the stickers. Carla, wishing them all the very best and lots of smiles and hugs.

I just couldn’t get this dear family out of my head so I had another go at a card for them. Here it is.
Happy day

It is an exceptionally grey and gloomy day here, so I'm afraid my photo isn't the best. I think I'm sending our sunshine away .
Thanks for the acetate trick suggestion on my Musical Hugs card. I do lay the stamp down and move it around before I stamp. But the stamp must fool my eye because it never looks the same when I do stamp it. The acetate should fix that. So thanks again for your helping me out,
I talked to LeAnna and her mom yesterday afternoon. Cards are arriving and piled on a table. The plan is to open them all at once and turn it into a party! They're all excited, love collecting the mail and looking forward to their opening party. I'll be back with their reactions
This challenge says to use photo corners or decorative corners. Our trapotter loves music: the performance of Shen Yun will be full of music! I'm late to the party so this card will be sent to celebrate a friend's January birthday.
