Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: peeps321/Polly
CHALLENGE: Being a Teaparty group we, of course, are experts at what constitutes a real teaparty. Certainly three essential items used at an official teaparty would be napkins, doilies, and something sweet. For your card this week use one of these items. Here are some suggestions: the Felted napkin tutorial, die cut or stamped doilies, cakes, cookies, or sweet critter images.
CARD TYPE/THEME: Thinking of You, Encouragement
SCS FayeMakesCards (Faye) has requested this week’s teaparty for her friend, Melanie. Melanie loves tea parties she really could use some fellowship around the table with words of encouragement. You see, Melanie is battling cancer and until now she hasn't desired to have her name and address shared. She's reached the point of knowing snail mail cards bring happiness and make her day. Of course, the teapotters would be more than happy to send some paper hugs to Melanie. Faye shared that Melanie likes tea pots, bears, books and flowers - she does not like the color orange.
SEND CARDS TO:
Melanie Johnson 303 Skyline Valley Rd. Mankato, MN 56001 USA

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to jacqueline via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

Here's mine. I have my envelope ready to address as soon as I post my link! I get so distracted so I decided to bring my envelope with me to the computer and do this right away!
OH, goodness! As I am writing out the envelope, I just realized the destination is headed just an hour from my in-laws! My sister-in-law went to college in Mankato!
I found this stamp set in a sale or clearance bin on somebody's site. I thought it was PTI. Anyway, I loved the shop, but now I don't know what company made the stamp. It's usually printed on the acrylic sheet, but on this set it's not. I love this set and was happy to be able to use it today MMTPT619 Bakery Treats by casep - at Splitcoaststampers

Hi everyone, I just want to say thank you everyone for your amazing comments on my card Brighter Days, you have all certainly brightened my day. I posted it yesterday but it will probably be eight weeks before Melanie get's it. I believe it's swimming across :lolo::lolo:
Sabrina ironing aid is spray-on starch, the most popular brand here is "Fabulon" but it is quite expensive to be spraying around in the craft room so I go for the cheap home brand one from Woolworths and it works perfectly with the added bonus of lemon scent so the card smells lovely.

Thanks, Polly, for the challenge! My mojo has had a hard time getting off the ground this week. But I had to make a card for Faye's friend, and a fellow Minnesotan; we need all the encouragement we can get these days. Here is my little hello for Melanie.

If Melanie gets all these cards she is going to have some pleasure opening envelopes for a bit! Their family doesn't get the mail every day and I am still waiting to hear that the first one has arrived.
Minnesota mail is soooo sllllloooowwww...SO SLOW within the state it often takes 3 days to get mail to Melanie and she only lives an hour south of me!
I'm waiting for my phone to ring, thought it would be today but she did have a difficult week and a treatment yesterday so....I'll wait to hear her excitement!
Thank you ladies, each one who made a card in recognition of her...even if you didn't send it to her personally...what a fun tea party this week has been.
I mailed mine on Wed. June 3rd. It could take a couple of weeks to arrive from Canada to Minnesota. Then again, it could arrive in a week. No telling with the mail system these days.
