Hau oli Makahiki Hou! Thats Hawaiian for Happy New Year! In case you havent heard (or read) the Teapot Tuesday Challenge has gotten a slight makeover for the new year. No drastic changes have been made but weve done some streamlining and reformatted a few things here and there. Be sure to check out this thread to learn all about the Teapot Tuesday - 2018 Reboot. Before we jump in with todays challenge, lets introduce the new team:
jacqueline (Jacqueline Valade) Teapot Challenge TEAm Leader Cook22 (Sabrina Friel) Teapot Challenge Assistant TEAm Leader peeps321 (Polly Pfost) Teapot Challenge TEAm Member casep (Pat Case) Teapot Challenge TEAm Member Shoe Girl (Lisa Swarm) Teapot Challenge TEAm Member snietje (Anita Montenon) Teapot Challenge TEAm Member naturecoastcrafter (Jean Cross) Teapot Challenge TEAm Member
Anyone is welcome to play - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a TEApotter the first time you play in our challenge. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
CHALLENGE:
To recognize and celebrate the new year, the challenge today is to incorporate something new into your cardyou could use new supplies that youve received during the holidays, it could be something you have in your stash that you just havent used yet or it can be a new sketch or design idea. Anything new anything goes.
DESTINATION STATION: Our destination this week is Lambert Kanakaole, brother-in-law of SCS member Hawaiian(Vicki).
Lambert is in hospice care at home after a second leg amputation which has not healed. Thinking of You type cards would be greatly appreciated. Lambert's favorite color is green, he likes pikake flowers (white jasmine), and anything to do with the ocean and music.
As you can imagine, this is also a stressful time for Lamberts wife Kathy. If you have time to make or send another card from your stash to her it would surely lift her spirits. Kathy's favorite color is purple, she likes pikake, gardenias and carnations, and she collects angels.
Can't you just imagine the gorgeous scent from their favorite flowers! I wish we could put that in an envelope and send it to them.
SEND YOUR CARDS TO:
Lambert and Kathy Kanakaole
47-330 Ahuimanu Road #A102
Kaneohe, HI 96744
USA

I had to put together a quick card as it has been a busy weekend working on clearing out my storage unit with my MIL moving in we have to get space for her stuff out of the garage due to the super cold weather and snow.
Here is a super quick card for the teapot person that will be out in the mail today.
Thanks for getting us started on the first Teaparty of the year Jacqueline! I'm happy to be part of the team and look forward to the coming year...Thanks also for all your time and effort getting this reboot going...and big thanks to Sabrina as well ;) Here's my card for Lambert:
Yes, ma'am, I agree with what everyone has said. Thanks for getting us rebooted and to Sabrina, too. Stay tuned, Tea Potters, I will be around to ask you to let me know if you want to be included in the Birthday Bash list and I'll get that updated quickly! Back in a few to post my card.

Oh no! I mailed these cards and just remembered I used a repositionable tape runner to glue Lambert's card shut so I could take a picture and I forgot to rub off the tape! Hope he can open it! The tape really does rub off easily, but I should have removed it!

It will give a chuckle I am sure. Don't worry about it. It was a great card. He will figure it out.

IDE like to give everyone a a huge Muahhhuuugggsss for this!!! I have no words that can express how much I appreciate this....I’m here and not sure the kind of comfort and support I give is enough at this point and being I have been here for them I think you all make this more special for them to know that people from around the world far and near and people they havnt even met is doing this for them and they really need it so as I said can’t Mahalo all of you enough just no words can express .oXOX another reason I love Our SCS community of Sistah;brotherhood is so amazing to be apart of. It’s the Ohana we get to pick! much Mahalo And Aloha !!
I made this card for Lambert’s wife, Kathy. For some reason the new gallery program submitted the card when I was in the middle of writing the description. Does anyone know how to get to edit? Here’s the card: Hello to Hawaii by casep - at Splitcoaststampers

Sorry all I’m a bit under the weather but just got a update on my SIL and BIL Lambert and Kathy.....both are not doing to well...Lambert is really sick and has caught a upper chest cold and Kathy just injured her hips lifting him. I informed her you all were so awesomely kind and thinking of them and she asked to to Mahalo each and everyone and let you all know how much they appreciate all of you. I’m sure she will be in tears when the cards start arriving. She love those my alpha sisters sent and they greatly enjoyed and appreciated them .so when they receive these I’m pretty sure they will be in tears and like me have no works to express how much this means!! Love you all. As for me I’m still working on my card but if I can’t shake this flu I’ll have to resort to my stash. Lol good thing I did all 4 challenges so that I have a stash ....
I can’t Mahalo all of you enough . And a extra special mahalo for the Teapotter Mods etc. nothing can express the appreciation for you all and those that so kind to take part. So the only true words that I can say that goes beyond mahalo is I love you all!!
Hawaiian, Give Lambert and Kathy a love hug via long distance to them from all of us and let them know we are all thinking of them. Hugs and one to you---hope you start feeling better soon---is no fun being under the weather.
Mahalo sweet Ladie/s . Will do . Kathy’s life is so filled with not having time for herself putting Lam first but she wants to mahalo everyone and says she truely appreciates this .It really makes her so happy to see people she don’t even know cares and there isn’t much anyone can put words to. Mahalo much . Love ya from me too!!
That's what we're all about...not just the Teapotters but Splitcoaststampers in general. Such a great network and support system that has been created over the years. We've all been brought together by our craft.

Mahalo much Sis This means the world to me and my Ohana that no words can ever express or mahalo enough but just to say I love ya All!!
Will the cheaters list be back up and running? If so please put my name on it. I find that very helpful as it take s me a few days to think about stuff before I do it. Age is working in my favor.
I am trying to get back in the swing of things at the Tea Pot Parties, and this is one I would like to attend. Due to the seriousness of Lambert's health issues I thought I would check here before actually sending a card. Hawaiian, can you add an update please?

Mahalo and the update is his still very ill and it still just a day at a time. Just spoke with Kathy and she said to tell everyone Mahalo it was such a uplift for both of them.she is posting all cards up on the wall next to his bedside to comfort him . Since the doctors have told her there is nothing more they can do but to make him comfortable as possible. I Mahalo all of you as well because I know she is not doing well herself and she so appreciate all the uplifting cards from people she has never met and it lets her know her faith is strong with all of you sharing in prayers and kindness at a very hard time in life. They would surely appreciate it. Mahalo..so basically the update is we just keep praying. And there was s only the man above that can have the final say even tho the doctors say diffrent. But the Lord is great and sends all his angels on earth who cares enough to share a prayer and a bit of comfort in the form of wonderful uplifting cards
UPDATE on my BIL “ Lambert Kanakaole “.
He passed away this morning. :(
They would like to Mahalo all that sent them cards. They truely appreciated it and it absolutely help uplifted them. If anyone still wanted to send Kathy more of the beautiful cards they received in their journey. Kathy could surely need some uplifting now. Me and My Ohana would like to mahalo all for the past cards and in advance for any that will be so greatly appreciated now. Her Address is.....
