WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #431
MMTPT431 Hatless in Hottentot Hailing all Hatters and Milliners!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
Carla (Covington Crafter) is our guest hostess for the Tickle challenge this month. And here is her super-fun story:
Fall is beautiful in the happy hamlet of Hotttentot. Trees dazzle the eyes with leaves of brilliant red, orange and gold and the scent of apples and cinnamon tickles the nose. There's a crispness in the air that removes any doubt that fall is here. This is the favorite time of year, for everyone takes great joy in celebrating during the Fall Harvest Festival! There will be booths with food and crafts, roaming musicians, carnival games, and even Trick or Treating for the children. But the highlight of the Festival is the Halloween Parade of Costumes! Both children and adults participate and to keep things fair, the previous year's winners are the judges. There's lots of friendly competition, whispers, giggles and secretive costume planning. Photos of the winning costumes are in the paper and there's even a photo gallery of the costume winners in Hottentot town hall!
You know it takes a lot of planning to make something this big happen. The Hotttentot Chamber of Commerce starts in January to ensure each festival is the best. All the town businesses are involved, from decked out storefronts to seasonal merchandise to festival preparations. Herbert's Hardware window has dancing skeletons and spiderwebs draped over tools. In keeping with the season, they have a special on broomsticks. Hyacinth's Coffee Shop features Pumpkin Lattes and Apple Cider. Their festival booth will feature bobbing for apples. Harold's Heirlooms has an elegant collection of glass pumpkins in the windows and is sponsoring the pumpkin carving contest. Helena's Hobby House is a happening place and had to hire extra help to keep up. Their cute booth is a card make n take. Rumor has it that a famous Splitcoaststamper will be teaching a mini class! Hazelnut Health Foods and Harry's Hamburger Hut will have food trucks on site with fabulous fall food treats.
The Harlequin sisters have been especially busy. The three sisters' stores; Holly's Haberdashery, Henrietta's Hats and Heather's Handbags & Heels have coordinated storefronts. They have the cutest witches with beautiful dresses and matching hats, shoe and bags! The sisters are in great demand for creating fabulous costumes and those windows are their best advertisement. They've worked day and night to meet their costume orders. But horror of horrors, Henrietta didn't get her last hat shipment and is two week's behind in hat production! We all know that no outfit is complete without a hat and worse yet, the Parade of Costumes is in jeopardy!
Teapotters, help remedy this horrific, hatless situation and save the Parade of Costumes! We need hats, lots and lots of marvelous hats. Holly's Haberdashery stands ready to help with trim, ribbons, buttons, hatpins and flowers. Heather's Handbags & Heels is ready to match those hats with shoes and handbags.
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION: I want to see hats on those cards. All types of hats are welcome since Halloween costumes come in all sorts of styles. Please be sure to add some trim and make them fancy, or fanciful, after all this is for a parade! EPEC: Matching shoes and handbags of course!
DESTINATION STATION: This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other! A little payback and reward to the teapotters for always sending their cards to the recipient of the Destination Station.
I have started this new thread in the Teapot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions.

Total back to the drawing board for me on this one. I'll finish Midnight up into a sample for Thursday, but when I remembered some of my single hat stamps I had to to create Henrietta's hat store with the oh-so-glamorous Sophia shopping for a new hat .
Good morning (afternoon, evening), hope you all have fun filling Hottentot with hats! Love the cards so far, I'd love getting anyone of them Looking forward to seeing more crafty creations.
