MMTPT371 ~September 8, 2015~ Blue Chip We Beseech Thee, Connections are Just Key!
Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #371
Blue Chip We Beseech Thee, Connections are Just Key!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. The tiny town of Bindersville is a close-knit group. Many of the residents can trace their roots back for generations, but newcomers are always greeted with the Welcome Wagon, home-baked pies and tasty casseroles. Community-wide celebrations are held for every holiday and the block parties that are held each summer encourage friends outside the neighborhood to join along.
2. Bindersville was but a speck on the map before the railroad boom. Rail workers moved in, then stores and industry to support them. Churches sprang up and ecumenical services were the norm. The one-room school houses eventually consolidated, but the model of peer tutoring and support remained. All who lived in Bindersville felt connected to one another.
3. The railway was a major part of everyday life in Bindersville. The rails connected the people to the towns and cities beyond. As the trains were available to bring in and transport out whatever the townspeople needed a network of roads in and out of town never really developed. Oh, there was the dusty dirt road here and there for farmers to bring their goods to town, but no Interstate and no roads for commerce...but who needed them?
4. It was a total shock then when Blue Chip Rails announced that they would be eliminating stops in many small towns to save on fuel costs and improve shareholder value. Bindersville of course was on that list. The townspeople felt so alone and isolated without their connection. The small business owners and elected officials came together to try to formulate a plan. Blue Chip we beseech thee, connections are just key . Our town you can't sidetrack, we need our rail line back!
5. Ruh-roh Teapotters, it looks like we are needed to help Bindersville stay in the loop. We need 42,000 messages about staying connected.
Here is a little video inspiration, including a connection to the song's history:

It is totally 100% voluntary!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT371 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges.
