Color My World
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! The Rest of the Story:
1: Here on the coast line of southern Florida, the start of summer brings a continuous parade of tourists and it can be a bit overwhelming. But in one small town, they decided to take advantage of it and sponsor parades, festivals with fireworks, clam bakes, ice cream socials, and other such entertainments to provide some structure to the masses wandering the beaches. In preparation for the start of the season, the whole town starts sprucing up their homes, painting shutters, planting colorful flowers, and setting out bug deterring torches.
2: But as Mayor Catonthedeck strolls down the boardwalk, she becomes more and more alarmed as she goes along. Just yesterday, she saw the beginnings of freshened color starting to pop up here and there. There should be lots more color by now she thought. But all around, all she sees is gray, black and blah. Oh My, she thought, this will never do. What on earth could have happened here. Even the skies looked gray, the ocean was a dreary color as well, the flowers were dead in plain pots that were faded and cracked. Everywhere she went, she saw more and more dreariness.
3: It seems that just overnight all the color was sucked out of this corner of the world and when she got to the hardware store she couldn't believe her eyes: no colorful plants for sale, no bright colored paint on the shelves, no pretty banners to hang from the porches, nothing but plain brown, black and gray anything. It was a very depressing sight but Mayor Catonthedeck (Cat for short) didn't know what to do. Everyone she talked to had no idea what had happened. They were all as baffled as she was.
4: Determined to change this dreary situation, she marched back to her office and started putting out calls to anyone she could think of. Luckily for her, the secretary knew of about 42,000 colorful gals who could be counted on to cheer things up. And the only payment they asked for was cookies with their tea. So a distress call was put out to Teapotterville headquarters asking for color and in a hurry.
Challenge Translation:
Color is what we need. Color and more color. No black, gray or anything else dreary or it's the back door for you dearie.
EPEC-extra points for extra cookies:
If you have any already colored images that she could use to make cards without to much strain on her hands, that would be great, and worth lots of extra cookies.
