WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY AND CHALLENGE #343
MMTPT343 ~ Monkeyin' Around
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
Lisa
aka Shoe Girl is our guest hostess for the Tickle challenge this month! Thank you for a really fun challenge, Lisa.
Here's Lisa's real-life true story, how cool!!
Grandpa Holmes was a wonderful man who raised his five children on a Christmas tree farm in upstate New York. For many years he took his children and their families on some great adventures exploring everything from river rafting down the San Juan River in Utah to the Mayan Ruins in Mexico.
Along these paths of adventure there were always many vendors selling local handmade items and other fun trinkets. One such shop was selling teapots.
Now Grandpa being the adventurous person came across a teapot with a monkey and just had to pick it up to take a closer look. And of course if you are monkeying around what is going to happen? Yes, something could get broke. Sure enough Grandpa dropped part of the teapot and was faced with the old aphorism; you break it you buy it. Thankfully he was also a wizard at fixing things and he has a daughter who collects teapots. So he took this home and fixed it right up and it sits in the collection of his youngest daughter.
Please share with us your card inspired by this fantastic monkey teapot. It could be inspired by the idea of monkeying around or by the adorable monkey himself. But handle with care! We dont want any broken cards! Not unless you can pull it off as gracefully as Grandpa Holmes.
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:Bring monkeys along to the tea-party - but don't let them near the china! EPEC: Extra points if you have any smiling faces on the card because everyone loves to smile.
DESTINATION STATION: This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other! A little payback and reward to the teapotters for always sending their cards to the recipient of the Destination Station.
 I have started this new thread in the Teapot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT343 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you want to be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges.
I didn't have a monkey stamp or digi - so went online and found this cute guy - I printed him off twice and cut him out and popped him up. The grass I got from someone (I am sorry I can't remember who). Fun challenge - I love tickling each other each month!

This was a fun challenge Lisa. I don't think I've ever see a monkey challenge before. Somehow my monkey got to the beach -- sounds like a great idea to me (sitting here with a winter storm watch in effect for the next 24 hours.... yes, my sentiment is wishful thinking.)
Here's my card.
Here is a great picture of Grandpa Holmes with me from 2004. He was a wonderful man and I will never forget the kindness he showed everyone he met. Truly a remarkable happy fun grandpa.

Oh, Lisa, he looks exactly the way you describe him - just seeing the picture made me smile!
