avatarredi2stamp_zpsab43717a.pngMary (redi2stamp) is our Tickle a Teapotter hostess for March. Thank you, Mary. I'm sure you'll all enjoy her challenge and the lovely poem she wrote for us.
This is Mary's story:
To dream as a child is to relive childhood ~
Fairy Fantasy:
Twas a lovely magical day
when the fairies came out to play.
I saw them first at break of dawn
as mornings ray first touched the lawn.
I watched them sing and work and play:
and they seem to dance the day away.
Til near sunset at days glooming
as flowers closed their eyes from blooming,
as fireflies lit their lights aglow,
each fairy flit off to its own bungalow.
Twas then I knew without a doubt
Id seen a world only dreamt about.
This I keep between you and me.
As only dreamers truly believe.

Fantasy, Fairy, Tea party
Tea-potters! This week we are off to the land of Fantasy, folklore and make-believe! What better way to leave behind winter and welcome spring! So off we go on a fun fantasy and even educational (as always) trip to: Are you ready? Fairy Land. Thats right folks! We think of fairies as fantasy and belonging in folklore. A perfect place to visit dont you think? Now fairies as you know are wee folk that live ..well just about anywhere, but I think of them as living among the flowers, grass and trees. Now there are a lot of terms out there that can be misleading. Like Elves, Sprites, Pixies, and even gnomes. Now dont be confusing these dainty, helpful and very responsible little fairies with some others which are more shall we say mischievous down right annoying little beings. No, sir-ee These Fairies for this challenge are all kind, loving and helpful!
Now did you know that each flower, shrub, tree and every growing thing is assigned a fairy?
Well it is so: in my story here at least!
And did you know that each month of the year has a flower as well as a gem and other things that we associate to that month? Well each also has a Fairy! Yes, yes, indeed.
Now I thought what a challenge it might be to take your birth month flower or even your state flower and find the fairy associated to it and make a card! Now if you dont want to make your fairy visible.. That is ok, it can hide in the foliage, but isnt it fun to find and show off these beautiful lil ones.
And since this is a tickle challenge, we get to tickle another tea potter with our own little fairy!
So flower and/or fairy ! Have fun!
ps. Cicely Mary Barker inspired me with her book and beautiful illustrations of fairies. But there are lots of companies making fairy stamps.
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION: Make a card featuring the flower for your birth month (and an associated fairy [optional]) HERE is a link to a list offering both a US and a UK option for birth flowers. For our ladies in the Southern hemisphere - if you have a different list please feel free to use it.
DESTINATION STATION: This week our destination is each other! See Post #399 in the Destination Station thread. Once a month, we send our cards to each other! A little payback and reward to the teapotters for always sending their cards to the recipient of the Destination Station.
It is our goal to surprise each and every Teapotter that is participating in this monthly card swap and send their card to in this monthly Tickle a Teapotter card swap with a handmade card from another Teapotter! You know, give them a little tickle!
To accomplish that I have started this new thread Tickle a Teapotter ~ MMTPT295 A Fantasy, Fairy Tea Party in the Teapot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions.
When you receive your card from a Fellow Teapotter, please send a pm to that person so they know their card has been received or post a comment in the Tell a Teapotter About Your Tickle thread! Just a little Teapot Tuesday Tickle a Teapotter Etiquette!
Here is a quick link to MMTPT295 gallery
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT295 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card.
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
What a fun challenge, Mary. I remember when we had a WT challenge to use our state flowers and it was so interesting.
I have a die I want to use but it will be too dimensional to post, so I'm going to make two cards today. Yay for a day off! !
WOW... I cant believe it is tickle time already...where does time go so fast... but HERE is my fairy and flowers...thanks for the great little story and idea...will be a fun gallery to see...:0)

I made two , a non-mailable one for my MIL since it's Mother's Day here this Sunday, and a more flat, mailable one for my Tickle.
I didn't have any fairies but I added delicate wings to both of them ;-).
Fun challenge Mary. I used to be on the design team for Fairy Song stamps, so I have a lot of fairy images, and I never think to use them without prodding. Thanks for giving me a reason to pull them out.
Here's my card.

I had such fun making this but unfortunately the photo does not do it justice. There are 4 layers on the mushroom cottage but it looks like it is 1D not 3D, the colour isn't true either. Oh well at least one of you gets to see it IRL. The rose is incorporated in the background and pixies abound. Lots of fussy cutting here and I would be most pleased if someone hid those scissors so I'm not tempted to cut this much again. This first shot is the front of Fairyland.

Well Sabrina, I forgot about the birth flower when I made these but I do have one Lilies of the Valley stamp (in an Easter set) that I think I will do just for you. If my fairy is small enough, I'll add her too. I'll get to that today after work...should be just a half day today!

Finally finished y card for this week's Teapotters challenge! A little more involved then expected/normal for me,but I think I like it. Hope whoever receives it does! TFL!
I am working my hardest to get this done but it is a very intricate design. I will hopefully have this loaded up tomorrow. Morning Glories and Fairies are some of my favorite things!
With all the forwarding addresses this baby had to go through and then be from Australia to boot! It was clearly worth the wait! I just LOVE IT! And thank you Sue so much! And thanks for the goodies too.
May God bless you!
