MMTPT269 ~ Chocolate, Cheese and Cuckoo Clocks {9/24/2013}
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #269
Chocolate, Cheese and Cuckoo Clocks
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1: I am not really a story-teller ;). I'd been thinking of having a travel-themed challenge, but when Sandy volunteered to hostess the August tickle, she had that idea too and we all travelled to wonderful destinations in our imaginations last month. We're grateful to all those who volunteer to host the tickle challenge! The thread for next year will be open shortly - or anybody who would like to volunteer can contact me.
2: So instead I am going to base this challenge on our real-life travel this month!
3: Chocolate, Cheese and Cuckoo Clocks. Can you guess where we went? There were plenty of cows too - Curt would have been in cow-heaven, I can tell you.
4: This was the first time we've ever visited Switzerland! Some of it was just as we expected - when we got up into the mountains it was real Heidi-land with chalets and cows and the sound of cow-bells ringing away in the background. And yes - we did even see a St. Bernard - but not with his little brandy cask. I think the first snowfall was recorded the day we left. But we were both totally surprised and taken aback at the amount of vineyards and intensive agriculture. Perhaps because we were staying in a French-speaking canton it was much more casual and laid-back than I was expecting. It was a most enjoyable visit and I hope we get to go back again some time.
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION: Make a card featuring chocolate, cheese or cuckoo clocks. OR you can also use any other type of clock or watch, lakes, mountains, cows (only if they have cow-bells, though!!), or vineyards.
EPEC ~ (EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES!) We were staying with an Irish friend and his German wife in the French-speaking area of Switzerland, and our flight was to Geneva which is home to the United Nations, so you get extra cookies for including any foreign language on your card.
I'm including a few photos in the next post (didn't want to clutter this one up with too many attachments - we've got to have space for cookies!!!_ which may help inspire you!! Curt and Mutnik can check out those cow-bells and see what Curt can come up with to market them State-side ;-).
DESTINATION STATION: This week our destination is each other. Thats right, its Tickle a Teapotter week, when we send our cards to fellow Teapotters. If you plan to play along and tickle someone, then go HERE to sign up, or check THIS POST in the Destination Station thread.
Here is a QUICK LINK to the Teapot Tuesday MMTPT269 Challenge Gallery.

I've made it with my Swiss Chef proffering some choice cheese and wine, and with a very amateur watercolour painting on the wall. This is obviously not a very upmarket dining place we are in ;).
well, i looked all over heck and back for my House Mouse Gouda Cheese stamp for over an hour but could NOT find it! bummer, I had something in mind but you know how that goes...now I can't think of anything else!! Sorry ladies, if I find it I will do it but today it just isn't happening! :( :confused:

My little Swiss Elves and I found time this morning to make my card and handbag, but had to go to work, so swinging back around to post before bed. Loved the challenge....

Bummer indeed! I hate it when that happens. I can spend way too much time wandering round looking in all their same places several times in vain. I hope you find either your stamp or another idea ,Robin - I love your cards.
