Welcome to Teapot Tuesday
the Sisterhood of the Traveling Teaparty
and Challenge #240
Consuela Beavertail's mission Cactusby Christine Corona Cactus plants have prickly spines. Be careful how you treat them! The spines protect the tender plants so animals won't eat them! The desert is where cacti live. It's very hot and dry there. Cactus plants do very well, but other plants might die there.
Consuela Beavertail de la Cactus was on a mission. she longed to ask for help to bring her plan to fruition. She glanced over at her neighbor, was Jean home? She was an expert with hair dryer, mousse and comb As a retired, kind and capable beautician would or could she help with her condition?
Consuela struggled with all her might so she could visit Jean and relay her plight She hopped on over and knocked on her door Jean hurried through the house & across the floor.
"However did you get over here?", she asked "I struggled until my shallow roots were free you see I require your help with a task so I hopped on over here quite quickly, I know cacti have a reputation for being somewhat prickly. But I promise you it's so we won't get bit and become sickly. I dream of being glamorous just like the other plants that flower. but I've yet to produce anything like that under my own power. I thought you could use your expertise and try to make me beautiful, if you please. You're well known for your beautification talents I just want to be pretty I don't need to win any Beauty Pageants. If you would be so kind and generous I'll make sure the experience is not too treacherous."
Jean gazed upon her spiny neighbor as she wasn't too keen on getting stuck (42,000 prickers she couldn't duck) A point she didn't want to belabor hmm, she thought, just my luck!
Jean thought fast and said, "Dear Consuela, don't you know when the desert blooms it is more beautiful that anyone could assume? Why as an Opuntia basilaris you shouldn't be embarrassed! you are gorgeous and fabulous. As a beavertail you will have magenta blooms a color so vibrant you make people swoon. Now just be patient your turn will come soon enough I don't mean to seem grouchy or gruff -- but God made you as delightful as can be trust in Him and you will see."
Consuela Beavertail de la Cactus hopped back to her flowerbed digging in her roots while Jean's advice swirled in her head. And just as Jean had promised, the following Spring Consuela felt a few very strange things. Her hopes and patience had paid off She was adorned with a flowery coif Rings of regal magenta flowers for her hair You can look but don't touch them - beware.

Fran, your rhyming couplets are amazing.
Between work and hosting VSN, I might not have time to make anything from this, but I will be commenting in the gallery and seeing what I can pull out of my stash.
I almost tossed this cactus stamp when we moved as I hadn't used it in the 5 years since I bought it. I felt very out of my element as I'm not familiar with desert colours or vegetation. Here is MINE.
wow...lots of fun in the gallery....I finally got the quilting project far enough that I have to hand baste the appliques so I can have the table to stamp on and get mine done
Well, I finished mine, and then realized my flowers are pretty much incognito and my colors are not even close to the teapot! It's been one of those weeks at my house!!
OK Apologies to those who could not see the picture of my card. I had somehow loaded my pictures twice and I thought it was only deleting one picture, but I think it deleteed both when I edited and deleted the second one. So I had to go back and reload the picture. So I think you should be able to see the picture now.

Just FYI, deleting a duplicate does often cause problems with the remaining image. But it sounds as if you worked it out - going in to the remaining upload and editing it, resubmitting the original image, will fix it .
