MMTPT128 ~ I BEG YOUR PARDON! IS TOO GOLD IN THE GARDEN!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #128
I BEG YOUR PARDON!
IS TOO GOLD IN THE GARDEN!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Ooh!! Gold! It's about time we indulge ourselves. We might as well go gold! I stumbled upon a website which featured a artist whose teapots all have a touch of gold in them and this one caught my eye! Some of you have heard me say that my neighbor is a Master Gardner. I wonder if her rose bushes in the backyard have gold stems like these? Note to self: Slip under the fence where the bunnies go and check it out! Pick a boquet and finance a teaparty or two! Snort!
2. You might be wondering what lies ahead for us this week. We do have GOLD in our future but before we can indulge ourselves, we gotta solve a little problem. Go figure! Hey, it's what we do! Our mission this week centers around taking time to smell the roses, an intervention for a pan-handlin' crazed and addicted nut, and gettin' a certain somebody out of a rut! Well, you heard me, it's what we do!
3. Meet Hot Head Jed, Dishpan Fran and Splish Splash Nash! Hot Head Jed comes from a family with a long and successful background in pan-handlin'! For, many, many years his kin has been getting gold from Mother Nature, enjoying the outdoors, and making a pretty good living. Jed feels like such a failure! He wasn't always a hot head! But the stress of no gold in his pan, his wife's dish pan hands, and his son's constant splishing and a-splashing wears thin on his nerves. He knows he must provide for his family! He know's he's only getting older and time is ticking away! He knows he can find the gold! He knows it's there! Its there! It has to be! But, he just can't get to it under the splish splash of his son and the Palmolive bubbles generated by his wife! What is a panhandler to do? He has quite the dilema. How can he tell his son not to have fun in the water? How can he tell his wife that Palmolive softens her hands but makes the water murky! Oh the stress!
4. Hot Head Jed just needs to stop and smell the roses! They only way we can get him outa the river and into the garden is by convincing him that the gold lies there! Everywhere there!! There, in plain site! He won't believe it until he see's it! You know where I am going with this, don't you? Look at him, he's already gettin' hot headed! Jed, settle down! What? I beg your pardon! Is too gold in the garden! Bring flowers, bring gold so he'll do what he's told! Bring flowers, bring gold and then he'll be sold! Bring flowers, bring gold so he's not feelin' so old! It's time to take time to smell the roses! Bring flowers, bring gold!!
Challenge translation: Bring a card with any kind of flowers and a hint of gold.
If you are thinking the Palmolive bubbles and splish splashing sounds like fun and your flowers aren't quite visable under all of the bubbles, you have to come in the back door or just stay in the river!
Teapot Tuesday Destination Station #128
This week's destination is Bellingham, Washington. We are sending our cards to Katie, a talented and fun loving card maker who's story was brought to my attention by fellow SCSer and Teapotter, Lisa Lara. Katie was diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer in December. She is young with a young family and a fighting spirit! She could certainly use some SCS love and encouragement at this difficult time of her life! .
For more information including a link to Katie's blog where her story is told in her own words as well as her address please visit Post #168 of the The Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread, should you decide to send your challenge card to Katie. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is strictly voluntary.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT128 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it a couple days after the Tuesday Challenge is posted. So, be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
My card for Katie can be found here
I'm very unhappy with the photograph, I just could not get the card to photograph very well for me, The colors in real life look so much better than in the photograph. I need photography lessons...smile...

When you link to my card the comments are brief to the point of terse. Twice I wrote my usual semi long winded description of what I did and where it's going to and twice I sat there for 10 minutes while my computer took so long I cancelled the upload. Last time I just tapped in any old thing and what do you know it accepted it. The roses were drawn with prismas, thanks to Judy for introducing me to gamsol, where has it been all of my life. The gold paint is a "Golden" product and the scrolly bits were a McGill punch. The message is hand lettered but not original. Here is my 24 Karat Roses.
I'm finally getting around to playing in the teapot tuesday challenge for the first time...here's MY CARD for Katie!

Well, this crew of Tea Potters is such a welcoming crowd I had to come back for more. Anything to escape winter - which continues to strike with a deep, cold vengeance. Roses 'n' gold and tea with the gang is better! I've been doing my pinky exercises so that I can hold my teacup "just so". Here's my offering to help save Jed's day:

Sorry I haven't played in a while, now that Christmas is over hopefully things will get back to normal!
I came across Kate's story before seeing this weeks destination station, so I just had to play this week!
This week was my first at TeaPot Tuesday and I just want to say Thank You to everyone for the warm welcome and kind words regarding my card to Katie. Her story touched me so, so I wanted to send her some kind words as well. Thanks to everyone again.

Hello fellow Tea Potters. I'm at my Moms, so I won't be posting a card this week, But I do have one addressed and ready to be mailed today. It has a beautiful peach with gold polka dotted flower, gold leaves and a wonderful dark melon embossed bg on a nice striped bg by Bo Bunny. Either way, it fits the flowers and gold theme and I'm sure Katie will at least like it.
I'll be making and sending cards, just not posting them. Maybe after I get home I can play catch up with posting them.
Lots of beautiful flowered cards in the gallery this week, ladies!!!
Also, I am seeing all the Red Hat cards from the challenge on the 28 of December. They are even better IRL!!! Cindy, it's almost like we can pour a cup of tea from your beautiful rendition of the Teapot!
I'll also make a card for Dani. We do exchange e-mails, but a card will be nice too!
Take care ladies. Mom has her bp under control now, but I'm still going to stay the full 3 weeks.
I'll be watching...
