Happy New Year craft friends! I am still working on using that tote of items up this year. I did great last year and this challenge was super helpful to push me. I am also adding to my personal goal this year to use up a huge stack of already stamped images that sits on my table so many fun images will be used this year so I can use up that stack. Here is my first card this year using another tote item:
Yay!! The new challenge is up. Thank you Julie for making this fun challenge and giving me especially an incentive to dust off unloved stamps and stuff.
Happy New Year to one and all! This annual challenge has really kept me motivated to use it or lose it. And, has saved me a lot of money by encouraging me to "shop" my stash. Thanks for doing it, Julie!
Today I have 2 cards using a quilt block die from Our Daily Bread Designs. I bought this several years ago but haven't used it before. For the Christmas version, I also broke out a 6x6 Penny Black DSP pad that I bought for 2019 Christmas cards but never ended up using. For the masculine version, I used up some DSP from an old My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad.
I used Orchid and Turquoise papers on my first and second card (still some of my favorite and highly hoarded colors). My last two cards I used sequins that I'm not sure if I have ever used. Denise (FS) had used similar sequins, so that helped me. FS726 Distressed Floral by mfb - at Splitcoaststampers
I am in the midst of a major reorganization of my craft space. I put all of the embossed pieces & backgrounds in a place that I hope will help me remember to use them. I used one of the embossed pieces for my CAS card.
Love that idea Misti- I am working on my craft room organization as well :-) In the meantime, I did create another encouragement card using brand new to me paper, stamps and a few dies.
I also have a personal goal to create a card for each of the SCS sketches that I missed over the years- I have many cards finished but not posted yet (this one uses a sketch from 2012). SC390 Hug in a Cup
Needed a quick sympathy card to send to friends of my significant other. As I was trying to decide what image I wanted to use, I came across this NBUS image from Hero Arts. As best I can tell, this poor thing has been sitting by, patiently waiting its turn since about 2013. Yikes!!!
Love how it came out. Am thinking of making another but using as a birthday card.
Here's a card made using several dusty items: buttons, epoxy letters (surprised they weren't dry), designer paper and upcycled twine from my hubby's Christmas present to make this card. For Fox Sake
Two cards using a die I bought about 5 years ago - made a "meh!" card with it then and didn't pull it out again until now. After an entire afternoon of futzing with it, I did come up with a few cards, including these two. I like them both, but not enough to save the die from getting an eviction notice.
Thank you Julie, for encouraging us to use discontinued, retired, and obsolete items from our stash by giving us a place to post our creations. Thanks for Looking!
For this card, I used the Vintage Emporium 6x6 paper and the sage twill ribbon for the first time plus I was able to pull out some brads and a ribbon slide from my old stash :-) TCC147 This is the Day
Hugs and thanks for looking!
Hello. I thought I'd join in. I used retired stamps, forgotten decorative scissors from long ago, retired In Color cardstock, DSP & ink and ribbon from my stash.
I am so glad that SU includes extra supplies in their paper pumpkin kits. I just need to remember to use them. Here is a card where I remembered the many left-over tags that I need to use:
