When are you coming, Pansy? We could meet, again. It has been so long since we had lunch years ago! Is Geri your hostess! Or someone else? I know that exact little toy room! LOL.
Good Morning, Twisted Sistahs!
we had 70 on Monday, wind chill yesterday of 5 and snow. Today the high will be in 20s. This is absolutely the craziest weather ever! Cranking up the heat on the bus. LOL
We will welcome you back with open arms. Sharon said she would turn up the heat.
i accomplished something bus related today. We have a grade 11 student in our neighbourhood who just started in-person learning at the end of January. She and her brother moved here at the beginning of the pandemic and she has been learning on line up until now. Her parents have been stuck in their home country. She doen not speak English very well. As you know, we live in a 20 house subdivision about 5 miles out of town, so students get bused to school. The elementary kids get picked up right on our street, the highschool kids (there are only 3) get picked at their farm, which is at the end of the road that runs past our subdivision, so this poor little girl has been walking over 1 kilometer in open country, in
the cold and high winds). The thing is, the bus comesright past our subdivision, turns around at the farm and comes past again. The school board has very strict rules about bussing and drivers are only allowed to stop at designated stops. I called the school board and left a detailed message last week and got no reply, so I called again today and found out the driver is allowed to stop at our street. However, either no one told the bus driver, or perhaps she did not tell our girl. Anyway, I caught her on the walk home today and explained it to her. Mission accomplished.

Sharon I’m having problems with the heat. Is it possible I can have an aircon seat at the back so I don’t affect anyone else? It’s 37 where I am. A fan could work lol,
Ina such a wonderful thing to do. Welcome home Gracie.

I had some fun today- even though up way too early (or up too late last night....). I had Bible Study and it was a great session, we stayed an hour over chatting about the topic!
I went up to my craft room to clean up the mess and instead, created....and added to the mess! Oh well... I made cards for challenges and combined challenges so finished VSN cards. I did spend some time sorting and straightening tonight.
Gracie- safe travels tomorrow.
Pansie- enjoy your retreat and hope you and Sharon can meet for lunch!
Jayne, maybe we'll find some guys to fan you...!!! LOL It is not so hot here if you are on the bus in the USA : )
Ina- what an angel you are to that young lady! You are so wonderful!,
Shelly, we had our Bible study today too. Also a great discussion. We are using Dr David Jeremiah's book 'What to do when you don't know what to do' to study the book of James.
I didn't do any crafting today though. But I do need to make a camping themed birthday card, commissioned by my friend.
It was such a nice sunny day, that I opened my bedroom window to freshen the room. I forgot about it until bedtime, and got up the stairs to a blast of frigid air. Sure, the sun was nice, but it was only 19 degrees. Window was open for 6 hours. I'm wearing my sweater in bed for awhile. But I love the fresh smell in here.

Our gallery is fantastic! 11 cards! Great job Twisted Sisters! I didn’t know there were that many on the bus! LOL. Now, I can’t wait to see what Jan (Heartsong) has for us for March!
Our Bible study this year has been the book of proverbs. I think it will go into next year, too.
okay, maybe our bus has individual thermostats at each seat. LOL. But we will have to dress accordingly when we stop the bus for crafting together at the big round table in back! LOL
it is good to see several of you playing .VSN. You still have plenty of time to do the mini 3 cards, as the main VSN doesn’t start till late March.
have a great crafty weekend. I think Pansy and I won’t be able to get together. She must have gotten busy packing and didn’t check back in here. Love all the chatter. Where are the Jans?
Made it home at 11 p.m. last night. Long day...started at 6 a.m. Vacations can sure take the wind out of your sails...no pun intended. Tired to day. My mind is willing to craft and create, but the rest of me says they are too tired!
Glad to be back on the bus! Putting my seat back for a little nap! Hugs

Catching up after being away is not easy : ) Apparently its worth it though! LOL I spent quite a bit of time commenting on Alpha and Twisted sis cards today. I am way way behind on blog commenting, but that is nothing new. LOL
My goal for today was to make a card on the Cricut from the Card Maker Summit. It will be my first project on it. I signed up for another Summit on Cricut on Wednesday, and learned more, but there is nothing like 'doing' it to really learn it. I still need to accomplish that! LOL
Our Bible study is going thru the mass step by step, for each step, explaining all of the meaning and where it is in the bible. A priest is leading us via videos in daily email, and we meet in a group to discuss.
I am also try to catch up on the Bible in a year , which is available via You Tube. Fr Mike Schmitz leads it, we read the scripture, and he explains it, then I look in my bible and read the footnotes. I think I could do this over and over and still learn something!
OK- I need to get off the computer and figure out what's for dinner!
You are right Jan. You always need a couple of days off after you have been on vacation. I never left myself enough time, because I always wanted to enjoy my vacation as long as possible. One time, I was due home from Texas around 4 p.m. and planned to go to work at 11:30 p.m. Then our flight was cancelled. The airline rep assured me they would have me out on the first flight 8n the morning. I had to do some fancy talking to have them re-route me on a different flight to get me back home on time. Which would have been fine if there wasn't a drug bust at the border, and traffic was stopped for over an hour. Then I still had to drive 1 1/2 hours to get home. This was before cell phones, so I had to find a gas station that was open, to call my colleague at work and tell her I would be late. She was very gracious about staying an extra hour. Why the border, you ask. The flights were a lot cheaper on Southwest air, and they are a domestic carrier, so don't fly into Canada.

Welcome home Gracie. We always say we need another holiday after our holidays lol. Holidays are tiring. I’m glad to be on the bus for today. I need a nap too. I’ll join Gracie.

Ina I’m betting you needed a holiday after that journey, we used to stay until the last minute, we used to go away in the caravan with my mum and dad and always envied them Being able to go home and tidy away in their own good time as they were retired, now we have that luxury, how anyone goes straight back to work with jet lag I’ll never know, takes me a week to recover.
Good morning Sistahs! Saturday and 16f. Cold! Still a little snow here and there not melting. I have some food tags to make for a baby shower at church so have to do those today, so I can take them tomorrow to church to give to the lady who is doing the shower.. I have a few birthday cards to make and get in the mail. i already have my kits made up for a week from Monday for the card class at the Seniors facility. It is not a nursing home, but an independent living complex.
I wonder what challenge Jan (Heartsong47 )will have for us on Tuesday? BTW there are still open months, if you haven’t signed up to do a monthly challenge…. Just saying…
Hi Sharon. Sorry I didn’t see your message till tonight. I drove in bitter cold and snow Thursday to arrive before noon. Haven’t left the house. Have 169 cards to take home tomorrow.

Wow Pansy I agree with Sharon, that's a huge amount of cards to make at a retreat. I used to go to scrapbooking retreats and if I managed to make 1 page I was lucky. I spent more time moving things around on my pages and chatting and admiring everyone else's work lol. I never took what I needed. It's a bit like that when travelling and packing clothes. I always take the wrong things.
Sharon, ok put me down for September I will be back by then and probably going again but I will come up with something.
Jan, when we went overseas and worked I always had jet lag for a week. Coming back to Oz is the hardest with the time difference. We used to arrive back on the weekend and be back at work sometimes on the Monday. How I did it and with the boys I don't know. Now we are retired we always say we don't have enough time to do everything we want to do. I always clean before I go on holiday. I like to come back to a clean house lol. Now I get anxious about all the things I could be doing instead of taking off and having fun. Crazy isn't it?
Sharon, could I get off at the next stop please. Hold my seat for a while. I will be back.
Have fun everyone.

Well, it wouldn't have been that many if I had needed to start from scratch. I took all the little bins and sacks of parts and pieces...I did hardly any stamping almost all just assembly work....I used up almost 5 rolls of ATG tape over the weekend. 9 of the cards were from scratch so I did do a few "new" ones along with finishing up all the "old unfinished" ones...I tend to cut too many parts so there are always leftovers....--for example a Christmas card I did about 10 years ago still had a sack of parts....I modified the original a bit and used up all the parts to make 23 more cards......I took plenty of blank cardstock and had a bin full of already scored and folded bases(when I just make one card from a sheet I go ahead and score the other part and then file it in a special bin just for that ) makes grabbing a base easy. but I did put in some hours...others attending were leaving every little bit of hours going to craft stores, to eat out and other things. I just plugged away... Worked Thursday from noon till 11:30 pm, Friday from 7 am till midnight, Saturday from 6:30 am till 10:30 pm. so about 40 hours all told. I did eat breakfast and lunch...I don't normally eat an evening meal as I have found my
numbers for my Type II diabetes are better when I don't eat after 5 pm. If I am absolutely starving after 5 dinner consists of raw carrots, celery and other produce plus a cheese stick.

July, August, November and December are open Jayne.
Pansy , you are Super Card Maker! And I bet they are all fabulous! I have not forgotten all the wonderful cards you sent me me weekly for a couple of months when I broke both my wrists. They were all fabulous! I am sorry we missed each other. Maybe next time.
I'm ready for the March challenge. Bring it on, Jan!
I agree with the ladies who need time to rest after vacation. Being retired makes it easier to just plop at home once done with the travels but I remember the struggles when I was still working. I did try to get home with a day to spare before back to the 9-to-5.
I've never been to a card retreat IRL. I have only done VSN which can be challenge enough to get a card done in an hour at home with all my stuff around me. Maybe it is because I have too much stuff to pick from. I find the decision making process takes longer than the actual cutting and gluing.
Bible study ladies- has there been any discussion in your groups about the recent news regarding a priest using we instead of I in the baptism ceremony? Just curious how that is interpreted/explained.
I've only been to a card class once and didn't enjoy it, besides the fact that no one spoke to each other I couldn't make a card in an hour, the lady gave us some basic pieces that were awful. I have to think about it, get things out, discard them, start again, sometimes can take me weeks, sometimes half an hour, depends on my mood.
Señora Jan, I tend to over think cards! Very seldom do I make a card really quick. But I think VSN has helped me a lot. For some reason, it really motivates me, especially doing it in real time. I did better with this when I first started in 2009 on here. And some of my cards really showed it, too. LOL. Now, I have so much stash, it is hard to choose what to use, or to remember what I have to use! LOL. I think that is why I like a challenge, it gives you a direction!
Good morning all. I snuck off the bus to spend the w/e with 3 of my grands, ages 9, 7, and 7. So much fun! Looks like my 8 yr old granddaughter inherited my interest in plants and flowers. She comes from a long line of ladies with green thumbs, but her mother does not have it. We had a good time at a local nursery together, and I can predict many more visits there.
Back on the bus. Like you Sharon and Jan, I overthink my cards too. A day or two is not unusual for me to spend on one card. Challenges are easier, but they usualky go in my stash, as I try to make each card personal if I have someone in mind.
Teri, in regards to the question regarding the priest and his pronoun use. I am not catholic, so I have a different perspective. I feel that it all applies to intent. If he used it as a royal 'we', almost equating himself right up there, next to tge triune God, then that would be wrong. But , if he humbly meant it as, 'we, the congregation' , then I don't see anything wrong with it. I realize that it does make a change to the liturgy. Scripture does not give us a 'form' for baptism. My opinion only.

Ina, when I make a card for a challenge even, I usually have a person in mind. Sometimes though, I make it for a person who doesn’t have a bierthday for awhile and then forget I made it, by the time it rolls around. I have made some for my sis, that I have forgotten I made. So, now , I address it, write in pencil the date and put it where I can see it every day! LOL. Right now I have a half a dozen that are ready to go!.
Buenos tardes Sharon, mi amiga, que tal? See I do speak a little Spanish, ha,ha
sharon I have a box to keep the cards in, I made a cards for each month with names and dates and put the cards behind each month and I write on the envelope in pencil who it’s for.
I’ve been making our GSs birthday card, I decided on a star shaker, I cut a few sixes for the shaker, decided it wasn’t enough so I added glitter, a little too much, when I sealed the star and shook it glitter shot out all over my desk, took me ages , now I have a mess to clear up tomorrow, I also started the MMJ challenge, when I picked up my cup to drink my tea I saw my hands and nails were covered in paint!
I will keep Jayne’s seat warm until she gets back , she will be needing a nap I’m sure.
That bee fold is pretty neat. Do you have a tutorial or name for it? I'd give it a go. I love the cards that stand to display the effort we put into them!

Thank you, Ina. From all I have read, this priest is terribly sorry that this has caused any harm. I doubt he was doing it from a "royal" perspective. Seems he was trying to be inclusive and tender about it. Even avoiding using "I" so as to not imply he personally was granting the ritual.
I think my question to the Bible study ladies was also a bit of inquiry about such groups, as in, are they groups to discuss or be told? Maybe this isn't a question I should ask, if so, mea culpa.
Hi ladies,
Sharon, I can do November if Jayne cannot and she can have October.
What a crazy weekend. I want to create, but no time! I have been working on playing thru the entire 2 piano books I am almost done with..... I have been at this level forever.... but the teacher stops a few times for 'recital pieces' and Christmas music as well. It is interesting how easy the earlier songs are, and the current songs- some harder than others. I am just learning the Circle of Fifths- this is hard work! LOL
Tomorrow, I will zoom with some crafty friends and I always look forward to this day to catch up and create together! Sometimes when I put a card together, and not on Zoom day.... I need them- their opinions! LOL
There are Catholic sites you can google to read about Baptisms or wording, or whatever..... But, this is a copy/paste of a Catholic source. The word in question is the use of “we” in place of “I.” It is not the community that baptizes a person and incorporates them into the Church of Christ; rather, it is Christ, and Christ alone, who presides at all sacraments; therefore, it is Christ who baptizes. The Baptismal Formula (the words used in the Rite) has always been guarded for this reason: so it is clear that we receive our baptism through Jesus and not the community.
If each priest changed things a bit, we would not be 'Universal' or Catholic..... When we go to mass anywhere in the world,...the worship and prayers are all the same..... just in a different language. The worship prayers are the same, the readings are the same, just the sermon varies.....
LOL, Ina, I have been accused of snoring on occasion... especially if I am on my back... I usually sleep on my side because of my back issues.....
I am working on learning my Cricut- it was from the kids for Christmas. I have to say, cards made all from Cricut or die cuts are not usually my thing- I am hoping to learn to make and cut out sentiments. And, to cut out stencils-and I am especially interested in layering stencils..... we'll see!

Shelly, Thanks for that level of detail. I am not a church-goer myself, but have lots of friends and family who are. So, being curious by nature, I often inquire. There is so much variability from church to church, religion to religion. I find it quite interesting to learn about the different approaches. I guess it's kind of like card making, too. So many different ways for people to enjoy.
