Happy valentine's day to all our riders! I don't have a Valentine to make a card for. That's ok though, my 11 month old grandson is here for now and he he is one happy baby!
Thanks Sharon. It's nice to feel someone cares. You're a great driver!

Happy Valentines and proposal day (for Sharon). Hope you all got spoilt. My hubby doesn't believe in Valentines day and thinks it's way too commercialised so we say Valentines Day is every day LOL. He is taking me out later this week to celebrate. He prefers it when it's not crowded and the prices aren't pushed up.
Sharon, glad to have you as our driver. I know you will keep us safe and not be wayward like me LOL. Good to hear I won't get a late fee. EEK...another fold. Are you testing us LOL?
If anyone is interested, I posted some photos of our recent camping trip on the photography thread. You can find it Here
It's warm today. Crank up the aircon please Sharon. I'll pass the ice creams around. Any special requests? I'm a drumstick or almond chocolate lolly girl LOL

Good morning Sistahs!
our Sweetheart Dinner was very nice last night. I tried to take a selfie of us, it didn’t turn out well. I should have asked someone to take a photo, but didn’t. So our bad photo will get scrapped anyway! LOL
i wonder if some of our riders are napping. We haven’t heard from some for a while. Napping is allowed, and even encouraged. I used to be able to doze while my DH drove, but that was before I knew how to drive. Later, I took a turn and drove as much as he did. I didn’t get my license until I was almost 30. Then later in my banking career I had to take business trips and had to drive up to five hours to get to meetings. I learned very quickly how to drive and be in the car alone. Then even later I had to drive that far when my mom or dad were ill.
So, that was down a rabbit hole! LOL
Jayne, and Pansy, the twisted card is not really a Twisted Sister Challenge. It was the SplitcoastStampers weekly Monday technique challenge. I just said it should be, just because of it’s name. Our challenges do not have to be special folds or techniques! We don’t have another challenge until March. Our challenges are only monthly; we’re keeping it simple, and easy.
I thought it was a bit early for another but I did it anyway!!! all Twisted UP! by c-mouse at Splitcoaststampers Here it is...
I will go in and edit the keywords to also place it in the Monday challenge.

I wonderer too if you were making that another challange for the group. (which would be fine) for now this is one I am skipping...and I love learning new techniques...might try it later)
I thought the challenges were only supposed to be once a month...but that kind of confused me (doesn't take much to confuse me...smile)

Hello, hello. I hopped off for a bit and now it's time to get back on. I have long hair and was trying out the middle part trend last night lol...NOPE, not for me. Would you believe I have never been to the hairdressers? I just have always had long hair and I have one of my older daughters trim it as needed. I did recently have them cut off a more than a trim, b/c it was soooo scraggly at the end!! I love it now. I can actually wear it down and not feel like it's a scraggly mess.
I also would love to just hop on and ride along for a bit. I've been experiencing some mental fatigue lately I think.....every evening I'm so tired, but not really physically, though I am feeling very tight. I NEED to be taking better care of MYself then I've been doing. I've hardly been exercising and my ankle really can not be the excuse, b/c there is plenty of exercise I could do. And I NEED yoga in my lfie and I've let up completely on that....ugh. Why do I do this to myself. I've also not been drinking enough water. I know that for sure. SO. I must get focused. But I also have surgery looming, not sure on date yet until next Tuesday. For my ankle. And that will be a 4'ish month recovery. I think that is on my mind subconsciously more than I think.

That is all.
How interesting that you have LONG hair. From your avatar pic I thought you had very short hair. Like "post-chemo" short hair. Some women really rock the pixie haircut. So, don't mistake my meaning here. In fact, I feel a sound track coming on--can we rock the bus with "Hair, Beautiful Hair". Anyone remember that hippie musical?
One challenge once a month is correct, and doesn’t have to be a technique. Sorry for the confusion.
Jayne, a hairdresser, boarding? Are you teasing us?
Sharon, I hopped off to have my hair cut and coloured today and thought it would be nice to have one onboard LOL

Hey OZ careful with that air conditioning.....It is not going to be warm in my part of the bus,,,,and in fact the middle and eastern areas are expecting snow........
I will bring along my decorative scissors if anyone needs a trim just let me know...I have never cut hair but have loads of experience trimming up horses and so forth.
Off to play with some new dies that arrived yesterday. today is (hopefully) a stay at home day until 3 pm when I do a school run to pick up grandsons(3) and hurry back home to meet a bus for another one. I am proud grandmother of 7 with 6 being boys and the 1 lone girl. They range in age from 22-6. The oldest is currently in Alaska. He is in the Air Force . The youngest (6's) are twins. Right now the ages are 22, 17,16, 9,7,and the 6's....by August of this year the 4 younger ones will match my car license plate which begins 789.
Bye for now...playing calls

Pansy, I have 9 grandkids, 8 of which are boys! My lone grandaughter is flanked by 2 brothers, so she can rough it up with the boys, but she loves being girlie too. Mine range in age from 27 -5. The boys in Texas are 27, 24 (currently in Peru), 15 and 11. The ones here in Ontario are 9,8,7 in one family and 9 and 5 in the family living close to me. I get to spend more time with them.
Have fun playing with your dies.
Well, if we have a hairdresser on board, I could probably use a trim. But I did trim my bangs a week ago. I have been debating going short, as I have trouble negotiating shoulder length hair, glasses, hearing aids and masks, as well as a hat during the winter. Not a decision for today on the bus though. I do remember the Hair songs.

Sharon, can we add a large horse trailer behind the bus so we can bring some of Pansy's horses? Wouldn't that be fun to have a trail ride or two along the way? Especially for those of us who can't hike anymore, what a great way to get into the scenery! Or a trot on the beach, like those romantic movies? I'd like to ride a Tennessee walker horse--aren't they the comfort glides?
Well, they would have to be photos at this point....When our two girls finished their 4-H showing career we sold off the 3 horses and kept the pony who had served us so well. Horse maintenance costs are out of this world high and our two boys had absolutely no interest in riding or showing horses. But I think I could still trim bridle paths and muzzles with the best of them...Those were some fun years. At one point I was feeding a family of six, 8 horses, 3 dogs, 15 sheep and a vulture in a pear tree. And paying teen driver car insurance and buying diapers for #4. My kids have a 15 year age span from oldest to youngest.....LOL!

I can so relate to a lot of what you have posted. I think part of it is the challenging times that we are living in right now. The last few years everything has just seemed to turn upside down...and, to me, everything seems to getting more difficult.
I just so thankful that we still can have our crafting. This is one of the things that keeps me going... (and you ladies...thank you...)

I agree with Jill...challenging times! I don't go anywhere anymore. The pharmacy is delivering my prescriptions and I order groceries and pick them up when they are ready which means I park the car and wait for someone to put everything in my vehicle. Gas prices keep going up so I can't afford to go anywhere that is not absolutely essential anyway. So, I craft. Right now, I'm caring for my 11 month old grandson who is much too heavy for me. I can't wait till my daughter gets back. I'm doing a swap that I may regret. I haven't been participating in the SCS daily challenges because I have spread myself too thin. I hope to get back to normal next week. Thanks for letting me vent! I love you all!

It snowed last night. I'm sure the bus can get through because the snowplow has gone by twice this morning. First time was at 6:15 and the next time at 9:30. The second time I was on my driveway with a shovel, so he did not leave too much at the end of the drive. You see, I live in a cul-de-sac and the way the truck comes around the curve, just nsturally leaves a lot at the end of the driveways of the 2 houses that have senior citizens in them. The driveways of the 3 young couples and 1 middle aged couple never get much. That's Murphy's law! But I should not complain, as neighbours always either plow or blow me out. If I want to shovel my own drive, I have to get out really early in the morning.
We had 2 days of rain, nwith 45 degree temos earlier in the week, which decreased snow levels by about 18 inches, but the amount from last night was about 6 inchesof fresh fluffy stuff.

I did the first VSN challenge and working on the second one.
The challenges are supposed to only take an hour to complete. Maybe I spend too much time thinking about what to make, but it takes longer than an hour LOL.

Jill, today is just the mimi challenge. Only 3 challenges this evening. They are all posted already. You just need the keyword, make the card in less than an hour (thinking and planning time not included) and the card needs to be posted before March 3. The main VSN happens later in March and will have many more challenges. Check out the links in the post above.

Teri and Ina...thank you for the info...Must check on that tomorrow. (with the great links that you have kindly posted! It's getting late here and I am ready to turn in.
I also have to tell you...what a slow Card maker I am...
I make very few of my cards in less than an hour.
I made a Christmas card for my neighbor this year that took me about 4 hours to make.
Happy crafting everyone!

I am running like crazy to catch up to the bus : ) I have been watching video's from the (Free) Craft Summit this weekend, and not getting much cardmaking accomplished. Oh- and I would like to try to get the VSN challenges started....LOL Did anyone create for VSN???
We went to Florida for a baseball tournament for my hubby- an over 60 baseball team. There were 6 games in 4 days, and they did OK- won 3, lost 3..... we spent the last day on Pine Island with friends, and took a ferry to Cabbage Key. Now 'back to reality'.
We are back in town since Tuesday afternoon. It is cold here and we had ~ 4" snow Thursday, it is so pretty, and we need precipitation for the farmers..... We have not had too much snow or rain this year.....
We had DD1 and Sil coming for dinner tomorrow, but I do hope to get some stamping done in the afternoon- we'll see!
sounds like you had fun Shelly....and do get some stamping done. I am spending today first clearing up the 200+ mounted 8 x 10 photos and over 100+ unmounted ones that were spread out over my kitchen counter/bar and the table...A friend who is also on the State Photo Team with me came down and we worked hard all morning to select classes of photos (need 4 of same subject matter) and group the classes into kits (each takes 6 classes of the above named) and document them(means evaluating for good stuff and errors) in written language on a prescribed form. These will then be augmented by two PROBLEM CLASSES in each kit where the "judgers" have to be able to find certain technical information and then match it to the correct photo. In Kansas we have a strong Photo Judging Contest for our young photographers but they need lots of chances to practice. We as a team work to design the kits. Some of them will be scanned and placed on a virtual practice site, while others with travel to the various Extension units that request a kit to use for a local county contest. We worked over 4 hours yesterday and have one kit ready to add problem classes, and two others almost ready---it is labor intensive and we agreed to create 4 kits.
After clearing up all that STUFF, I am going to go to the room of CHaos and begin organizing for the retreat I am attending Thursday through Sunday for making cards. You have to take everything you wish to work on but will have an 8 foot table, an OTT lamp and company to work in while trying to finish everything you brought. It is about a 3 hour drive one way to arrive at the site. I have attended before and loved it so jumped at the chance to got this time.

Pansy, anywhere near me? I haven’t been to any retreats since Covid started. I used to go to Maple Memories in McPhearson and also to the one in Valley Center. I guess there are so many , but I am lazy now, and don’t want to pack and unpack and then again to come home.
You have certainly been busy Pansy. Photography is a hobby of mine and my daughter studied photograhy at university. So I always find it rewarding to see young people interested in pursuing 'real' photography. Bless you for mentoring them.
Your retreat sounds great. Do you stay over in a hotel? Do others that attend also stay in the same place? A lot of fun, for sure. A friend and I used to go to a day long card making 'gathering' together. It was also about a 3 hour drive, but had to cross the border and go from Canada to the US. The event was in Rochester, NY and we would spend the previous night in a hotel, then drive home after the meet. I had attended 10 years in a row, but Covid stopped the cross border trips, and my friend has stopped card making and taken up sewing. If I want to go in the future, it will cost me double, as we used to split costs for gas and hotels. I'll see what I decide to do for the future. I really enjoyed the friendships we made.

Pansy- that is so very cool- I have a DSLR camera- and need to take some formal classes to figure out how to use it better! So, do the participants have to figure out what the settings (ISO) and all are in the pictures??? etc.....
I have been doing a Card Makers Summit, it ends today, there was a brief Zoom last night. Today is the last day of video's. I bought a VIP pass for $59 so I could watch the video's later- and there were lots of freebies (extra classes and digi images and guides to color, etc....) for VIP members.
Getting ready for DD1 to come out- we are going to a nail salon...and then dinner here.
Sharon, Ina and Shelly,,,,,,Sharon the retreat is in Valley Center...at the Kansas Quilt and Scrap Retreat house.....Planning and packing is pain but having company to craft with makes it worthwhile. This is the first one I have attended in the past 4 years so can't wait. Ina, we stay in the house---a family of four own it and used to live in it. The children are now college graduate (1) and college student (1). When they were both in high school the mom decided they needed a tiny house. So they built one in the same town and then remodeled their former home and established the Retreat House. It sleeps 12 easily and when I go I sleep in the "toy room" a storage room with twin bed left alone when the remodeling was done so 13 can actually come. In the work area each person has an 6-8 foot table, an OTT lamp and chair"comfortable ones" Full kitchen and we team up for meal prep and cooking. Stay up all night or nap or whatever...full basement for TV or just relaxing away from crafting. It is not expensive----my stay will be less than $120 though gas and buying food to cook add to the cost. But for me, since I live alone except when my "boys" are here before or after school I enjoy the company while crafting.
