Today is the first day I have felt like creating anything in weeks.
Hope you are all doing well! I am doing a bit better. Pop started going down fast a few weeks before Christmas and we lost him the day after Christmas. That is why I haven't been around much. Miss him and miss all of you as well. Hugz

Nancy, my mom passed on Dec 18th in 2018, and we had a trip planned to visit SIL in Mexico for Christmas- we went, but my spirits were dampened for sure..... loss of a parent is never easy! Big Hugs and sending well wishes to you!

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts - it has been hard and work has been a total bear. Jean, I bet he is chatting with Bear Bryant - I forgot to ask him if he met Bear. I am guessing the answer is yes. My Pop knew many famous people - he was a people magnet and so cool!
Speaking of bears, I did the altered paperclip challenge HERE is my card (it has a bear on it).. Jan, I could only find one paperclip in my house too - used it on my creation. Will be buying some more at Dollar General if I get out this week or will be buying some on Amazon (I should probably go work there so I can get an employee discount or something). I really do want to make more of these. We should do an exchange or something on them.

Kandie I’m not sure if I should thank you or not, checking Pinterest as you do for ideas I’ve been watching too many videos and then got carried away looking how to make pockets in a journal, now I have papers everywhere and no surface to work on, LOL
Hey there, all of you...haven't been on a lot lately. I watched a bit of the paper clip videos....is the function of the paper clip mostly to attach it to something else? For example, I'm assuming Nancy's paper clip is underneath the piece with her sentiment. When I first thought about this challenge, I envisioned a large paper clip with lots of junk on it but you could still see it. I'm guessing you'll say 'doesn't matter, do your own thing' but thought I'd ask.

Jean I don’t think it matters as I’ve seen some that show the clip, some wrapped in ribbon etc.but I think it is to attach things, I think Kandie knows more about their uses though.

in case some of you missed my news and I am still emailing some people...I had good news yesterday. Still trying to process it but it is a relief and I can now just carry on creating without rushing. I have a very long list of challenges and classes and stuff to make.

Jean, I imagined it would be a paper clip with ribbons, etc.....as well, but love seeing them glued on the back of home/hand made empherma and clipped onto pockets of onto cards. I cannot wait to give it a go! LOL, I found 3 paperclips : )
I signed up for a Marjie Kemper Mixed Media Art Journal in a week. Very basic but I am getting out supplies I have had for ages and never use...like Distress paints.... I am making my journal about birds. I'll share when its done.
Shelly I’m enjoying the class you recommended. It’s reminding me of techniques I forget about. I haven’t got far with my journal..I did the first two days and nothing since then lol. I did create yesterday though and am pleased with a panel I made. It’s very weird. Looking forward to seeing your journal. Happy messy creating everyone

I remember when everything had a paperclip on it and at work I had a magnet to keep them in one place, now I had to buy some, steve had to go through his files and he found one!
I’ve been playing with making pockets, how hard can it be, I struggled to find matching papers as they are for our sons who wouldn’t appreciate a flowery journal, everything has flowers!
ive made the BG and the pockets now but I don’t want to stick it together until I have all the pieces worked out, I always manage to over complicate things but I want a section for each part, our wedding, going on through their lives from birth, places we’ve lived, old family photos etc!
Here’s my altered paper clips, some of them, at least. I seem to have used the ones.. oops, no, I remember now! I thought I used them all on the girls’ Christmas gifts, it I know there are more in this mess somewhere.

I have paper clips everywhere from helping price stuff for estate sales. Let’s face it, I just have junk everywhere!
I got the hinges finally put on the Sherlock binder cover pieces and put in the holes for the packets of pages for the inside. I don’t think I’m going to try hinges again for a while. Too much trouble! (And I made too many mistakes and had to do stuff over!)

Wow Kandie your clips and journal are awesome. I used to use metal hinges in my scrapbooking and haven’t done that for years. I love your cover and also your altered paper clips. As for paper clips yep I have a stack from when I had my own business. I brought all the stationery from my office to home and we are still going through a lot of stuff. I wish we could find a video on altered bulldog clips..I must have 3 bags of them lol.

Kandie I love your clips and never thought of doing the that way!! I have some Of those hinges, TH I think, keys too, only used one to make a secret Santa key for GSs years ago.
Kandie, great paper clips and those hinges are awesome. I would be tempted to use leather for hinges. Cut up an old purse or belt. (Sorry, that's not supposed to be enabling at the thrift store!)
