WOW Kandie your journals are so cool..I especially like the safari one!
The Gelli videos are done by a different Birgit....our Birgit (Biggan) is from Sweden, has a different last name. I don't really know anything about the one who does the Gelli videos but she's fun to watch.

Kandie, I think it’s a different one.
Update......Oops Polly has already advised. Yes I thought ours had a different name. The lady I watch on YouTube is amazing. I watch them all. I just need to try all the techniques she shows lol instead of watching *wink*

Here’s some more for those of you who like to watch videos. The first one was one of the very first ones of Birget’s I watched and that got me hooked. The second one is for Kandie and others who like to make journals. I like this lady’s videos too. I’m a YouTube junkie lol and where I’ve learnt a lot of techniques I use.
Happy day and hope you all get messy.

Got my internet and power back for my birthday so all is good. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I will spend the next few days or week catching up with everyone.
I just posted the prompts for these 2 weeks - have fun. I am going to try the tea bag rocket tonight with my grandsons!
We are going to do some giant charcuterie boards tonight - one of my favorite things to do and eat. Hubby wants chicken wings on it so we are adding them - how fun is that.
Many hugz and I can't wait to see how you get inspired by tea bags!

I really have to get back to doing these challenges...it always seems I'm behind.

I have yet to do numbers 1, 8, and now 9. Gel plate is kind of an unknown to me. I haven't had much success with it, and I'm sure I just need to play, but still hesitant, since I'm not very fond of mud.

I’ve actually managed to use a gelli plate piece with an embossing g folder and made a card last week ready for an AbC challenge in a few weeks.

No deadlines or stress allowed in this challenge - I think those are our only rules....

Anita: Thanks for the info on the Posca pens. I think I’ll get some black and white for adding highlights. Hope tour stressful time has eased.

Thanks SuZ for the YouTube tip. I did watch one of hers and it’s given me an idea for one of my WTUI samples. I like easy lol. Thank you.
Melody and Jan I read your comments on the other thread about YouTube videos. I agree...I fast forward. I keep saying..come on, get in with it lol. I don’t like waving hands, telling me what products they are going to use....just give me a list that I can see afterwards. I can’t keep up with them anyway when they mention the products and have to keep stopping it lol. Melody, you won’t like Marta as she gabbles on and does have the baby on the table but she makes me smile..I fast forward her but I love what she makes and I’ve learnt lots from watching her videos. I also find some voices annoying and screeching. I like the ones the most where they just play soothing music and up pops the prompts in what they are doing or using and they aren’t longer than 20 mins. When I did Tim Holtz classes I fell asleep every time, no matter what time of day I watched them. He has such a soothing voice and he says all righty a lot lol. I’d love a dollar for every time he says it.
At least we have a fast forward button lol.
Now don’t fast forward me lol.
Have fun

Hello! Just watch the videos Nancy posted. How awesome to come in at this time. Jayne mentioned this challenge to me and I finally made it here to check it out.
A good while ago, maybe a year or 2, I saw a magazine article about tea bag art and started saving my bags. Never actually made anything yet, but sure am inspired now!

Joyce Ann, always glad to see you!!!
I am really interested to see what we all make - me included!!! I really like the idea of the altered tea bag. You could then use it on a card or journal page. But then I made a tea bag journal out of giant iced tea bags once and it was such a hit - wouldn't it be fun to make an advent tea bag journal and put in little tags and pictures and maybe some money? Wonder if I could make the pockets large enough for gift cards some how... I think you could stuff one and make a Sponge Bob Squarepants card..... just had some coffee and some sleep so my mind is whirling around. Wish I could skip work today!!!!
The last Posca pen I bought bled everywhere so now I use a glass pen dipped in white paint mixed with a bit of water. Seems to work well and it is cheaper over time - just a bunch of dipping which is kind of annoying.
I fast forward in just about every video - I think they should all watch some tic tok videos and get some tips on how to do things quickly. By the way, I am addicted to tic tok - so many great recipes and charcuterie board ideas and some crafting - will be more soon as people move to it just for the reasons we have all stated - no time or patience.
We made three charcuterie boards. One had cheeses (my favorite was a pumpkin gouda)/fruit/nuts/jams, one had chicken wings/deviled eggs/olives/boudain, and one had cookies/grahams/marshmallows/chocolate (we made s'mores in the outdoor fireplace). After attacking the boards, we played Apples to Apples and had a blast! There were 6 of us plus 2 kids, but we had enough food for 60 - seriously. I won't have to cook for days (yay).
Hugz to you all

Jayne I always laugh at the name Graham crackers, I think they are used as we would use digestives for bases, ain the US it’s not pronounced as we would say it, next time you zoom ask one of the girls to say it, our son always laughs at me when I say it.

Nancy all the food sounds delicious, I love what we would call buffet food, Christmas Eve we always have what our family call a fuddle, finger food the same as you’ve just had with some English additions, pork pie, pickles and here with smoked salmon, shrimp etc.

Good to be here, ladies. This is certainly going to be a creative adventure. I need to start thinking about making things for Christmas, too. Don't think I'd do a Advent project with no one here in the house to view it with. I am, however thinking about something 'thankful' related. But that would be for our Thanksgiving Day, not Christmas. I started to make a scrapbook album revolving around the 12 days of Christmas. Unfortunately life doesn't change very much on a daily basis for me, so don't think I'll go there. I do like the idea of making up some altered tea bags to have for embellishments, whether it be for cards or scrapbook layouts. Nancy, I had to do a word search on your reference to charcuterie boards. Like Jan in my past they were just the large displays we made on platters for holiday gatherings. No fancy name in my family. lol

So I watched a video of someone taking teabags apart to use for crafting , that’s ten minutes of my life I’ll never get back, ha,ha,
Steve asked me if I wanted the polystyrene chips from the packaging that came with the tiles! He said he didn’t want to throw them away without asking, our neighbour bought a wooden pallet for us to cut up for kindling for the log fire, he said it’s for me to use for crafting!

Sharon, I can totally feel your stress! I have a new motto - Don't sweat it - do what feels right! Yes, we do have our commitments that we must do, then, everything else comes in good time. All your obligations will unfold with your sweet effort and should not become a burden. Jayne convinced me to stop in here, knowing how stressed I felt, and she promised it was not to create something else for me to stress over. So, with that said, please come in here, when you can, and let it be a sweet visit with some joy attached. I'm sure I will not always created these lovely ideas, but I'm okay with that. I'm getting my priorities defined and finding new ways of enjoying the companionship here. SCS is really a nice place, a place to come and chill with friends of a like mind.
Jan - LOL, know what you mean! My DD and I struggle with trash all the time - to pitch or keep! So true, we have to prioritize our time, there is only so much of it.

Lots of chatter. Yes, Jayne, I've watched Marta and she certainly can drag out a video. On some videos, I can drag fast forward and see thumbnails of what's coming, but not all. That is so helpful when they are available.

I must in be in the minority. I prefer longer videos with a good balance of tutorial and a personal touch. I think too many times we take the personal side out of the media we watch and forget they are people not only with a gift to share with us, but a story to tell as well. I have no desire whatsoever to use a platform like tik toc. I also don't like the videos replace narration with music and are sped up the entire time. I rarely watch them. I'm glad that there are so many artists that are willing to share their talents and we have choices.
I haven't had a chance to watch the tea bag videos yet, but I did want to mention that I saw one on ArtyMaze's YouTube channel the other week. She used them to make a journal cover. I was very intrigued.
