Catherine, my sister would appreciate any card. I'm not sure she has anything favorite. She spends so much time taking care of others that I don't believe she even collects anything! She's a school nurse. I'm sure when I end this message I'll remember something! But my head is blank right now. We had a really strong Storm come through. I'm surprised only one branch came down as far as I can see. I did some running for Mom this morning. Went in and paid the funeral director and her taxes. Dropped off some boxes at the thrift store. Then went to Walmart with her shopping list.

We just had a storm come through. I haven't been that scared in a long time. It almost looked like rotating clouds but it was really a wall of rain coming right at us. After the initial wall, it rained steady for a while and then stopped. at least we don't have to water the garden today!

Good afternoon. Jean & Ann, we got some of that storm last night, but most of it stayed to the north and east. A couple of times there was really heavy rain for just a minute or two and then hardly any.

I'm another one that hates the videos where they feel the need to greet everyone that signs on. I never watch those live. I usually drag forward to bypass all that, or the ones that show all the repeated steps over and over.

I found out last week that my sister, Carol (BobbiesGirl), was moved to an assisted living place. It became too difficult for Bob to care for her, not so much physically, but because her dementia is so bad. Please keep them in your prayers.

Hello everyone,

Kathy thanks posted that note about your sister. on the prayer. I need that it did something for me and my heart. Here late on SCS. I have been feeling I have been helping no one. And when you posted that you sister need payers and maybe used a friend. That did something for me. I have tear in my eye type this note. I used to get on SCS who's life am I making difference in day? You make me useful Again Thanks Linda I am not sure when can do card for your sister? But I will ask Dr. Sonja maybe because I know what my mom went though. But, I think it's more then that. I think God used your sister to help me to feel useful. Again. And be thankful and to blessing. Because for weeks or maybe Months. I did feel like I was doing any good. And that hurt I just cry all day! Thanks Linda

Linda, I'm so glad I helped you but you are always useful! And I will give her the card whenever it comes. I don't have a set day or time. Thank you for your kind heart.

Good evening.

Gracie, another headache here, too. A couple months ago the local newscaster mentioned the allergies this year we’re going to be very bad.

Kathy, I’ve been wondering what kind of cards I could work on. I will make some encouragement cards.

Melody, I added my prayers for your sister.

Ladies, I cannot tell you how many cards are arriving daily from the Teapotter thread. I’ve stopped opening them for a little while because they are so wonderful and so full of hugs and prayers and good wishes that my heart just swells and I cry. The response from everyone is overwhelming. Whomever requested this for me, thank you from my whole heart. From now on, any time I get sad I will open these cards again and read them.

I had an appointment to get a manicure this morning here at the retirement place. I won’t get one here again. I seriously could have done a better job myself. I will go offsite when I need one bad enough. $20 wasted. Supposedly the salon lady has been doing nails and hair for over 14 years.

I’ve been thinking about the walk-through I did at the house last week. There was one of those bath pillows in the bath closet that I’d bought to go with a bamboo wood tray that goes across the tub for reading while relaxing in the bath. The tray was there, the pillow was gone. It was a nice one, suction cups on the back to hold it in place for the head and back. I left it there to be sold. Either one of the ladies setting up the sale helped herself, or one of Ed’s family helped his or herself. I don’t think my things are considered a memento of him, do you? It has been bothering me all day. I just needed to complain about it to someone. Maybe I can let it go now. Ignore my rambling.

I wish it would rain here! The humidity has been stifling! We sweat even in the A/C.

Book I made over the last couple of days. I brought with me 5 or 6 small vintage books to make into little journals or notebooks, not for any reason other than they go fairly quickly.

Kandie love, love your apartment. I agree with the other ladies and that you have a natural flair for decorating. It’s my sort of style and your bedroom furniture is so similar to ours. Thank you for sharing the photos. I’m amazed at how you have got it all done in such a short time. You could be an interior decorator. Hugs.

I’ve read the rest of the chat and will get back to it when I can. Our last evening at a campsite and tomorrow we will drive home. Approximately 2 hours from here. It’s not too cold today but tomorrow it will be raining and for the next week. Yuk. We did a wonderful trail walk today. I will miss this life. It’s easier. A simple life.

Now I have to check dinner. I’ve made a lamb casserole and dumplings. My second one on this trip. Definitely winter food.

hugs to you all and waving.

Morning!

It was only 66 degrees when I got up today so decided to open up the house for some fresh air and thought just maybe I would pull weeds in the front bed by the house.

NOPE!! Windows only open for a half an hour before someone started burning! The stink was horrible, we had to close up the house. I started coughing and getting sick! Smelled like someone was smoking a little stuff that they should not too, sons said the smelled reminded them of being at a rock concert!

Kandie, the teaparty was requested by all of your Alpha Sisters!

Hugs to all to have a good day!

It’s almost 11, I’m sitting in bed trying to do banking. The old eyes aren’t focusing yet. Seems like it’s taking them longer and longer to fully open! I think I’m putting off getting up and moving because I have to give Dusty a tranquilizer today and try to give her a haircut, and I hate to give her that med, it always scares me. Luckily she’s in no hurry to get up either, she’s curled up asleep still!

I had another weird dream last night, do you think it might have anything to do with binge-watching CSI Crime Scene Investigations?

Good morning to everyone!

Good morning! It is warm here again...which is to be expected. Today, though, I'm back to wearing long pants to work because they fixed our AC yesterday. I'll have my shorts along to change into before driving home and, if something goes wrong, I can change sooner!

We had board meeting last night so I didn't get my tasks done yesterday.

Kathy, I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose brain works like that! I'll be in a situation where they have an ice breaker question to help us get acquainted and it will probably be an easy question but my mind will go blank! So frustrating sometimes!

I'm glad you got rain, sorry it was scary.

Melody, I'm sorry to hear that about your sister. I always enjoyed her here on SCS. Praying for her and Bob.

Hi Linda, as Kathy said, you are always useful. Even when someone hasn't made a prayer request, you can pray for them if they come to mind because everyone is dealing with something.

Kandie, sorry the manicure wasn't worth it but now you know! And your bedroom is just as gorgeous as the rest of your home. Beautifully done. I need you to come out here and help me, I have such a hodge podge and little to no budget but I like my couch! And I have beautiful paintings (done by my aunt).

I'm glad you've received so many wonderful paper hugs and your book is beautiful...of course!

Jayne, it sounds like you have completely adapted to the RV way of life. I'm glad you have been enjoying it so much.

Ann, 66 degrees is lovely. And yuck to the smell of pot smoking!

Kandie, wow, Dusty slept in this morning!

I'm trying to not be jealous of DD2 because she has the day off.

Morning! Another nice summer day. Watered all the outdoor plants this morning, nice to be able to do that myself now...DD2 doesn't give them enough Miracle Grow and with our short growing season, stuff needs the MG to grow and flourish quickly!

Have the robot cleaning for Wednesday vacuum day. We also need to get out and pick cherries. Pie cherries! Bright red, the tree is loaded!

Kids are bickering, so time to get up from lunch!

Monday night we had a fire on the fields near our villa and other near to the town , one was an electricity pylon that blew up, funnily enough we didn’t get a power cut, we had helicopters carrying water going over for about five hours, our son saw the fires on the news in SF and rang to see if we were ok, the ones he saw were further south!

we had the little man to fix the fan yesterday but he had to order a part, he changed the broken part from the bedroom with the one in the dining room as that isn’t used much, tonight he came by with anew part, it isn’t the correct one but it works, he said he will be back but wanted us to be able to use it, that’s customer service for you!

jean I have a silly sense of humour too but luckily Steve is a joker so he gets it, we can both laugh at the silliest things, although sometimes I laugh so much I can’t tell him what I’m laughing at, then eventually he says I guess you had to be there!

Kandie I love your throw on the bed, did you make it yourself?

My wallpaper came in today so tomorrow I finish the kitchen! DH will move the stove and fridge out and finish sanding. There isn't a lot to paper, but it's a tight area to work in. I've cleaned off the fridge and moved the coffeemaker.
DS2's tv kicked the bucket. Luckily my sister just gave Mom an extra tv the same size! She and her hubby inherited her MIL's house and this was her tv. Sister had to clean out the house and they are moving into it. It's basically in her backyard. After her FIL died the MIL sold their house and bought one on the street behind them. It's a nice house with one floor living. They had just remodeled their kitchen, but the new house is so much better as they age. Their house has sold already. She got almost all the moving done before she was diagnosed with breast cancer so she can take her chemo without that stress.

Default Hi

Waving hello to all!

-Kathy- I will get a card out for Evelyn! Sounds like Ann's bad storm moved East to you! Nice for your DS to get a new TV. Your sis has alot on her plate! Hope your Mom is doing OK.
-Catherine- no, I do not remember my Grandparents speaking German- a word or phrase here or there.... My Mom's grandpa was from Germany, and Grandpa's as well.
My Dad had a thoroughbred silly gene : ) My Mom was funny!
-Sharon and Catherine- I have to try the 1.5 speed- do not do that. My DD2 told me I should try that with books on tape as well!
-Ann- glad you are safe from the crazy rain storm! Boo on the smoke.
-Melodie- so sorry about your sis having to go into Memory Care. Mom's was good- they work so hard at stimulating the clients cognitively! I hope Bob is doing OK!
-Kandie- sweet Dusty! Sorry you were not pleased with your manicure- I wonder if she is equally bad at hairdressing....! Oh goodness, I get bad dreams after watching scary movies- like Ozark and crime shows where people get killed.....
-Jayne- RV life sure has been a fun adventure to watch and hear your stories!
-Rebekah- welcome home! Those cherries look yummy!
-Jan- glad the fires are not right by you! Crazy that your son in SF saw them on the news.

I went to see SIL today- she is down to 89 pounds and was in a snit when I arrived, 2 days of no Wifi. I went to the office and they reset the Wifi, which was nice of him. She was able to get on Wifi on her phone and laptop, but not the Ipad. I filled her in on family updates from the reunion. I left after an hour.
Home and made dinner, then had an online meeting for church- new committee head and he is very active at church and quite connected.
Tomorrow, I will pick up DD1 at the airport at 6:30PM. Ray is so ready to be done getting up with the pup : ) They left Columbia on Monday and went to Machu Piccuh , Cusco and Lima Peru. They are having a great time.
Headache better today- not sure why, but it is. Fingers crossed-it's supposed to rain on/off this weekend.

Shelly

We are home. Winnie unpacked and everything at home good. Just have a laundry full of washing and Winnie to clean. Not sure when these will get done as rain is forecast for the next week. Doh! It’s good to be back and I’ve reacquainted myself with my craft room..all of them lol. I posted a few photos on the S2S thread. I’ll put up a few in the photography thread when I get chance but here’s some fun photos for you and one spectacular sunset in Broome around my birthday. The sunsets up north are just amazing. We took a trike tour in Broome for my birthday. He took us on the beach and did the silhouette photos. Such fun.

Some of the photos are from Barnhill Station and on the beach which has amazing red cliffs and rocks. The camp fire was taken a couple of nights ago at a free camp site. We ended up staying 2 nights as it was so peaceful. Just us there for one night. A bit spooky in a nature reserve but so beautiful. The waterfall and pool was at the gorges. We swam in the pool.

Happy day

Morning!!

Jayne, beautiful pictures!! Happy you are home safe!

Noise and more noise this morning! 6:43 A.M. the digger started working on the road in front of our house! They are still at it, digging, filling in, more digging! Who knows why they are doing it, didn't look like a bad area in the road! Again not being able to open windows, dust is flying and the noise is so loud sons would not be able to work!

Shelly, so happy to hear that your daughter had a good time and will be home to take her dog back. The dog is going to be in withdrawal from your DH!!

Hugs to all today! Have a good one!

Waving hello to all!

Kandie, you are such a wonderful decorator! Your apartment is gorgeous! You should be in one of those home interior magazines!! Awesome job you did and in such a short time!

Melodie- so sorry about your sis having to go into Memory Care.
Jan- glad the fires are not right by you!
Ann, 66 degrees is lovely.
Jayne, it sounds like you have completely adapted to the RV way of life. I'm glad you have been enjoying it so much. Welcome back.

Kathy, hugs and prayers for your dear sister.
Jean, sorry you have to deal with the house for sale, no fun at all worrying about people being around.

For all of you, suffering by headaches, I hope they are gone and you are feeling better.

Its's hot and humid over here . We had no rain, not even some drops in about over two weeks.
We renovated our bedroom and built new beds.

Sending hugs to you all, Catherine Gracie, Sharon, Linda and all I missed.

Good morning. I’ve been awake since 9 but still trying to get my eyelids to open all the way.

Jayne, those photos are fabulous!

Dusty got her haircut and a bath. I see lots of places I missed but she was getting so stressed even the tranquilizer didn’t help. I got most of the long hair and the matting off. She was mad at me all evening, kept trying to bite the crap out of me. Her face hair is all choppy but she kept biting the clippers. Poor girl isn’t standing up well yet, she staggers and falls over. It takes her around two days to get over that med. Hopefully she feels better with some of that stuff off. (Soon)

Errands to run this morning and then I will be back to comment. It’s beautiful out, 71 degrees. I want to get done before it gets hot again. Back soon!

Hello to everyone.

Good morning!
welcome back, Jayne! Gorgeous photos! Oh, my!
Dagmar, sounds like you are getting a lot done! Building beds? Wow! It is hot here, too!
poor Dusty! Kandie .I love how you have decorated your new home! You sound like you are already into the routine of your new life. Sending prayers for continued adapting, strength, and comfort.
Ann, sorry about construction zone right in front of your house! That could give you a headache for sure!

Shelly , you are so good to your SIL, but 89lbs? Continued prayers for her.
Kathy, I got a card into the mail yesterday for your sweet sis. I couldn’t wallpaper again at my age, but once when the kids were small, I did our whole house at the time. LOL. I feel sorry for whoever bought it! I wallpapered right over layers of other paper!

Rebekah, we used to have a neighbor that invited us over to pick cherries. What great pies you will have!
Jan! It is finally time for your family to be there? Enjoy!

oh, yes, I listen to books at 1.25 speed, when I am lucky enough to get audio books from our library. Always on hold, and have to wait!

Catherine, that is funny that you have to dress warmer at work because A/C is fixed! When I worked one of the girls had a heater durning the Summer, she was so cold with the A/C .

Melody, I am sorry to hear about your sister. I miss “Bobbie’s Girl” on SCS. She was an inspiration to me. She was also the one that taught me to link to challenges in our descriptions of our cards. Of course now we can just copy and paste. I will keep her in my prayers.
Hi, Linda, Jean, Gracie, and everyone else!

Good morning! Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day, I really have to be organized over the next few weeks in order to have everything ready by Aug. 11. I'll get there, the trick is to get sleep too!

I've been looking for a small (mini) black felt top hat and finally had success yesterday at Joannes. The first time I went there, they didn't have any the size I wanted. Yesterday I thought I'd just go ahead and get the bigger one and was blessed to find the size I wanted! Yay! Now I have to go through my craft boxes in the garage to see if I have the ribbon and other stuff I need to decorate it.

Yum to fresh cherries, Rebekah!

Jan, I know all about those helicopters flying overhead and dumping water! Glad you are safe.

Kathy, I imagine you are in the midst of wallpapering (or already done). I hope you post a pic!

Oh my, Shelly, 89 pounds? Wow, glad you were able to get her wifi working again. Continued prayers.

Welcome back, Jayne! What wonderful photos, I'm glad you adapted to the RV way of life and had such a wonderful trip.

Goodness, Ann, I would think there would be a noise ordinance that prevents them from starting that kind of work so early! Sorry you are dealing with that noise and dust. How is your foot?

Dagmar, you built beds? Will you share a photo? I'd love to see!

Kandie, we bought clippers to give Honey her hair cut at home. We sometimes extended times between her professional grooming appointments that way but boy was it a challenge! Especially to get the facial hair nice and short. I'm sure you were exhausted after that endeavor!

Sharon, I just went back to normal office attire. I was in shorts because it was so warm in the office when the AC wasn't working. I say normal office attire, it is still fairly lax as far as office attire. In summer, I wear long pants, sleeveless top (usually a button down), and sandals. When I worked in a more formal office, I never would have worn sandals and my long pants are usually jeans. I'm happy to report that the AC was working fabulously yesterday - though it wasn't a super hot day. Thankful for the fixed air.

Yesterday I had to do a return at Walmart. Poor lady working customer service was all by herself. She was so nice and pleasant and joking, I thanked her for her help and told her what a great job she was doing and that I know she has to deal with unpleasant customers. She stopped, looked me in the eye, and said, "Thank you! It is nice.to be noticed."

At both of my girls' jobs they've had really rude customers lately. One told DD1 (Starbucks) to f-off. I'm happy to report that her manager said if that customer came again, she can tell her to leave. The rude customer at Michaels was screaming and yelling and foul mouthed and the assistant manager, who was trying to help her, finally told her to leave, that she is not welcome at Michaels any longer. I'm glad the managers are open to that because employees shouldn't have to deal with that kind of behavior. What is wrong with people? Have we forgotten how to be nice and polite?

Oops, there goes my alarm.

Good 'almost afternoon here in Wisconsin',
Melody, I'm so sorry about Carol but I guess it was inevitable that she'd need more help. Making a change like that can be hard too. I cried every time I left my Mom's facility.
Thinking of the sisters and sister in laws who are ill....
Linda, thank you for your kindness. We all do what we can.
There is rain in our forecast for the weekend. There is another re-enactment at Old Falls Village but I've decided not to work it. It's Civil War and I am just not very fond of thinking about war and seeing it on display.
Kandie, sweet bedroom, reminds me of my daughter's room when she was young, pink and cozy. Your journals are great.
Jayne, what awesome pictures.....looks like the middle of nowhere. That one with the boat should be framed.
I'm ready for a nap, I woke up way too early. Hi to everyone else.

Morning/evening. Sorry to hear that you have a headache Shelly and sorry to hear about health issues sisters and SILs are having.

Ann, I hope the noise didn’t last long. There’s a lot of building work going on behind us and sometimes workmen start before 7am, the time they are supposed to begin. On holiday we were parked right in front of a laundry room. Oh my, at 6am the machines started. I’m trying to learn that these things are small annoyances but at the time I wasn’t happy lol.

Catherine, I don’t understand people being rude to those who are just trying to do their job. When I worked in sales I had a couple of rude clients. One was particularly rude to a young girl I was mentoring and he called her awful names. I had to say something to him and he basically told us both to get out of his store but not in a nice way. My boss ended up having to go and see him. I used to dread going to his store.

Kathy and Sharon you have both inspired me to put some word art up on my craft room wall. I was going to get DH to drill some letters but he wasn’t keen. Now I can do it myself. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hope Dusty is ok now Kandie. Thinking of you.

I have realised that I posted the wrong card for my H challenge. When I saw Jan’s card I thought ooh I did that technique. Small thing. I shall post it for the i challenge. It’s inky lol. I’m such a klutz lol. I only created up to and including i before I left so I shall have to find time to start creating again.

This weekend is family time. Today we are hoping to clean Winnie before the rain comes. It bucketed it down on the way home yesterday and gave her a bit of a clean lol. Thank you all for your kind comments on my photos. I took so many that it’s hard to choose which ones I like the best.

Time to go…DH wants to start some jobs and I have to head to the supermarket at some stage. Yuk. I’d much rather sit and put my feet up lol.

Waving to everyone. Happy weekend

Great to see you back safe and sound Jayne, gorgeous photos.

Good to see you Dagmar, I think we are all getting this heat wave in Europe, thankfully our part of Spain isn’t getting the extreme heat like Seville!

Kathy I have a card to post for your sister this morning and some August Birthday cards that I’m posting early!

Good morning. Wonderful morning so far, a lovely breeze. I actually slept with the bedroom window open last night. I can’t get the craft room window up, maybe it needs some lubricant or something,

Jayne, working on the apartment nonstop was my way of not thinking about things. Now that it’s done, I take a morning walk and one after supper to get my steps in. This really is a lovely area, even if cars and trucks are constantly flying by and there’s some kind of machinery place behind the building.

Catherine, your couch and paintings would determine the rest of your decor style! What are you going to do with a felt top hat? I used to work a second job at Victoria’s Secret. Some people would come in and browse and then make disgusting comments on some of the more risqué under things. Ed was beginning to get nasty around people, It was like he had no patience anymore. I cannot tolerate rude language in public. You are so right, what is WRONG with some people.

oh Rebekah, fresh cherry pie! Drool!

Jan, the quilt on the bed was given by a lady who was having a sale to Ed to give to me. She’s not a real friendly lady so it was a bit of a surprise. It’s very old, stained here and there and slightly falling apart on the edges, but it seems to go well with the bedspread. I wish I could make quilts. My total expertise with fabric is limited to book covers and glue!

Shelly, your poor SIL. I was 89 lbs once when irritable bowel syndrome was diagnosed and I could hardly eat anything. How in the world is she doing?

Ann, around here people can’t start noise until 8, but I don’t know what it is for businesses. That early in the morning is extremely rude.

Dagmar, how are you renovating your bedroom? You built new beds? From scratch? Wow, that’s wonderful!

Jayne, I laid in bed the other morning and listened to tap tap tap in the walls and thought it was my next door neighbor. I was trying to figure out what she was doing. I saw her later in the hallway, she thought it was me. Turns out it was workmen in the apartment across the hall putting down tack strips and laying new carpet, lol.

Dusty is back to normal.I carry her out to the designated pet area and then set her down on the ground because I don’t want her going on the sidewalk. As I was carrying her down the hall a few days ago we passed a young lady pushing an elderly woman in a rolling walker, the lady was sitting backwards and talking to herself. Have any of you seen the Pixar movie Up? Where the dogs are getting ready to attack and suddenly stop, and their heads all swivel and they say “squirrel!”? This lady was muttering away nonstop as we walked past and suddenly she stopped and said “is that a dog?” It reminded me of the movie.

Its after 10, I need to be doing something. Apparently the sale at the house started yesterday. I’m resisting the urge to drive by. I hope it’s a good sale. And I hope this lovely weather hangs in here a little longer before the daily heat and humidity hit.

Have a wonderful day, ladies.

Melody, thank you for the sympathy card. It arrived yesterday. Praying for Carol. I do miss her creativity.

Dagmar, I'm curious about building a bed too.

Jane, what beautiful pictures you posted. Thank you for sharing them.

Catherine, I always figure rude customers are unhappy people. They are hard to deal with but you have to pity them also. I can't imagine treating anyone like that. I see where some Starbucks are closing. It has to do with safety issues, and I'm thinking safety for employees.

Sammy goes to the vet's on Monday for more shots. Her eye really cleared up after using that cream they gave me.
The wallpapering is done. There wasn't a lot to do, it was just in awkward areas. It's like backsplash behind the counter stove and fridge. I'll try to take a picture once DH finishes hanging my paper towel rack. I can't put things back in place yet until that is done. Our new back door arrived yesterday. It wasn't supposed to be in until around August 9th so we were quite surprised. We probably won't get to putting it on until at least Monday or Tuesday because this weekend is card class day on Saturday and DH has to go to the cabin that day also. I'm a little miffed that they put a second door knob hole in after we told them we would not be putting a deadbolt in. I may call them and ask them to give us a plate to fill the hole like we did with the front door. The front door was our mistake. We did not tell them we didn't need a second hole but we definitely told them on this order.

Oh my, I wrote a long comment yesterday and when I went to read chat today...it isn't here! I must have forgotten to hit "post."

I'm trying to remember everything I wrote, but you know how that goes! Anyway, welcome back home Jayne! Yuk to grocery shopping. All of your photos are amazing...thanks for sharing them with us. Like a mini tour of Australia for us!

Kandie, I love your decorating...your bedroom is so beautiful. I like the gray furniture, too. Has Dusty recovered from her "spa" day?

Catherine, what are you decorating the hat for? I must have missed that comment. Your poor daughters having to deal with RUDE customers. What is wrong with some people?

I love cherries Rebekah. Yummy!

Jan, I also know all about those helicopters flying overhead and dumping water. In Arizona, there are a lot of desert areas and we lived by an airport where they set up a command post for several helicopters. Fires are so scary and unpredictable.

Kathy, I'll get a card to you soon for your sister. How's the wallpaper going?

Wow, Shelly, I can imagine how thin your SIL must be! My maternal grandparents spoke German, when they didn't want us to know what they were talking about!

Ann, that is so annoying when construction workers start early in the morning. They have to start early in Arizona, because it gets so hot as the day goes on, and talk about dust! Thanks for all the love in my gallery, too.

What kind of beds did you build, Dagmar? I'm with Catherine, post photos, please.

Linda, I have no idea to fix what you are talking about. I'm not very computer savvy. sorry.

Hello Sharon, sorry I missed you gals on Tuesday. My computer was not cooperating.

Shirl, I hope you are feeling better.

I've had a busy week. Visited my mom and took her to an outdoor concert. Got together with a couple of close friends from high school, had a cook out and pontoon ride. Today my DS, wife and 3 granddaughters are coming to cabin to stay for a couple days. Then, Monday, I go to my sister's and Tuesday, I'll pick up a friend from Arizona who is coming to stay for a week! I believe my crafting is going to be on hold for a bit. I'll have to try to find time to pop into DTGD challenges. I have almost half of the cards done.

Well, have a great weekend everyone...stay well and get inky if you can!

Kathy, you're welcome. I finally got my postage stamps. We had ordered thru Walmart (a 3rd party) because they were cheaper, but were supposed to take a week. First they said shipped, Then, after they were supposed to arrive, DH gets an email saying they were delayed. The PO hadn't even received the package yet. So DH checked with Walmart; they said they weren't responsible (right!), but said they would contact the 3rd party to contact us. In the meantime, we stopped at the PO and bought a roll. The next day we get the shipping notice from the PO. They did eventually come, so now I have 2 rolls. I guess that means I need to send out some more cards.

I have an idea, in case anyone else wants to join me....Karen Margottas birthday was August 3. I'm going to send her husband a thinking of you card as he is probably going to feel sad that day.

DH hung my paper towel holder, so now I can put my kitchen back together.

I tried and tried to get a good picture of the wallpaper on the wall but because of the space we have it in I just cannot get a good picture. Light shines on it and makes it glare and from other directions you really can't see it well. I've just gotten in close and taking a picture of the pattern. It's a really cool pattern because of the distressed type look it's very forgiving.

The wallpaper looks wonderful, Kathy!

Melody, I heard the price of stamps was going up again! Lucky you...you’re ahead of the game with 2 rolls of stamps!

Stamps went up Monday. I got a roll last week and still have 75 stamps from before that. Global stamps are now $1.40. extra ounce is 28 cents.

I had a bit of a cry today. I was out back talking to Mom when she told me that the reason she had DH take dad's bed down was she couldn't go in that room without getting upset when she saw his bed. I think it's all sinking in now. She cried when she talked about hugging his pillow. My mom has never been a crier. And especially not in front of anyone. This broke my heart. They were married 65 years.

Good afternoon, everyone! I got up and got busy first thing this morning. I have more to do but sat down for a late lunch and thought I'd check in. I'm quite proud of myself because the vacuum was sucking at sucking so I looked up the manual online and checked where I thought the blockage might be. Poor thing was constipated! LOL I cleared it out and had a much nicer time vacuuming today. Usually this is something I'd ask DH to look at which is why I'm proud of myself. Since I was working on it, I also gave it haircut.

The little mini hat is going to be decorated with ribbon and, hopefully, feathers and maybe some tulle and turned into a hair clip. I have four from when I made several years ago but need five (I actually made more than four years ago but some of the team I was on didn't realize they were just on loan!).

Jayne, I agree with Kathy that rude people are hurting people. That said, it isn't right (or smart) to be nasty to people who are preparing your food and drink! It just seems like people are worse now, in general.

Did you get your chores done? It is so nice when they are done!

Sorry, Linda, I have no idea how to answer your question.

Kandie, yay for sleeping with the bedroom window open. We are in a heat wave so no open windows for us. It was nice while it lasted though.

As for my decorating, it is a hodge podge. We've never really invested in it. I have my nice dark gray couch, my early 1900s upright grand piano, the lovely paintings by my aunt, my Ikea craft space, a wing chair that doesn't match anything. Did I mention hodge podge?

Kathy, I asked my daughter about the Starbucks closing. I guess the story is it is for safety...not sure what kind of safety issues. When she told me where the stores are located, I could see it might be a safety issue due to high crime neighborhoods.

It seems they should give you a discount on the door since they put an extra hole in it that you told them you didn't want.

Gracie, I'm decorating the hat for a Walk to Emmaus retreat weekend next month.

Who did you see in concert with your mom?

Kathy, I was already planning to send a card to Mark around Karen's birthday. I have the card sitting on top of my piano just waiting.

I didn't know postage was going up again. What is it now for one stamp?

Oh, lovely wallpaper, Kathy!

(((hugs))), Kathy.

I'm attaching a photo of one of the little hats. It has a hair clip underneath. These little hats are about 3 inches long.

Sorry, don't know why it turned the photo on its side!
