Good morning! It is another lovely and cool day here today. The forecast high at our house is in the 60s! It won't last but we'll enjoy it while it does.
Thank you, Jan, I thought DD2 did a great job making the card. Generally when a card is needed for me, DD1 makes the card.
I had board meeting last night, still via Zoom. And I just uploaded my F card.
Very quiet on here, I'll go look at cards and comment.
Glad you feel better, Jan, despite the stressful episode. I've had the tire pressure light come on many times, never a flat. Sometimes it's the sensors, which are expensive.
If I ever sent a card postage due, please tell me. I do have a scale but size and thickness, I guess.
I will take our January, February and March anytime over this heat and humidity.
Jean and Melody, the heat and humidity is even getting to me and I love it when it's hot. The humidity is a bit challenging though. I put a cool washrag on my neck. Lots of fans going as no AC.
Catherine, that was so sweet of DD2 to apologize with that lovely card! Glad you’re having cooler weather. It's very hot here and back in Arizona. I saw that there are 2 large fires by Globe, AZ. Scary! I hope they get some rain soon.
Thanks Ann, for the reminder! I have to get going on this round, but still a bit tired from having the granddaughters here for 3 days. Hoping to get creative this afternoon. I slept in until 9 a.m.

Kathy I have never had strawberries with salad, we have so many ripening I think I will give it a try, well if the chef agrees!
very cute Kathy.
we had our first swim today, it was lovely to cool off, the water was 28c, I had to find my swimmers, the Lycra had gone hard in the shoulder straps so they were a bit crinkly but no one else will see me so I will save my new ones just in case we actually have visitors!
I really have to start the new challenges, I’ve not felt like crafting but I did find some pieces I had in my stash,
it is a holiday today, our neighbours at the back, a Spanish and a German man had a massive argument with the other neighbour, he is English and having work done, they obviously haven’t got planning permission as since lockdown no one can get it through, anyway the workers carried on working today, he was telling them they shouldn’t be working and he would report them, the Spanish man is such a spiteful little man, he has work done in the summer when everyone has family over but if we do anything he goes on the roof to look and complain, he was shouting at the top of his voice, we were laughing as the workers are Spanish so were arguing back and they were laughing, all good fun!
Jan, so happy you are feeling better. What an ordeal on the tire issue.
I have to go back and read the chatter before I reply more.
I am at a loss as to the faux challenge at the moment. I saw faux patina in the tutorials and might try that. I actually did one a long time ago and the technique gives beautiful results.
Going to work on a teapotter card first.
Thinking of Kandie too!

The dressing makes the salad. Wendy's has a champagne vinaigrette this year. I think that may be the same as last year. I eat every last bite of their salads!
I am okay.... I hope you all are okay too. I have dumb question for you all?
Why are there so many different types journals in crafting? what do people do with all different types journals? I don't get why people thinking need all different types journals?
Linda, look at it as a form of art. How many different types of art or craft are there? Because we are all different and want do things differently. Some people use a journal like a scrapbook. Some like a diary. Some journal in a Bible to write their thoughts on what verses mean to them. Some use a journal as a way of expressing their innermost thoughts, but do not what others to see them, so end up covering the writing with other papers and artwork. Some use a journal as a to do list, or a record of travel, etc.
With that being said, some people like to have a label on things, hence the many names for journals.

Melody, great explanation! How do you turn off underlining when you turn it on by mistake? I tried touching it again. Stayed on. Never mind, I think I did it.
Thinking of Kandie today, which is Wednesday here in the states!!!
We just spent time in the back yard with an elderly woman and her dog that just showed up out of no where, and also my neighbor was out too with her dog. We all had dogs- granddog is here- she just showed up in the backyard. It did not take long to figure out she had cognitive issues- and it is 88 and so humid here (29 C)- she had a red wool coat with her.
She gave me an address, and I finally found the tag on her pup had a name, address and a phone number on them, and got her reunited with her husband. She was gone from home for 2 hours. My neighbor lost her husband to Alzheimers a little over a year ago, and I had my mom here with Dementia before she passed, so she picked the right people to get her back home. Whew- my husband went out running around the neighborhood- many had seen her and she even knocked on someone's door a couple of blocks away, and he could not find out anyone who might know her. Crazy! And, glad she is safe now!
My neighbor called the police, they showed up and the husband wanted NOTHING to do with making a report. We are all a little shook up, but glad she is back home!
Katie is here and went shopping and to get her hair done. She has graduation tomorrow for the school she teaches at. It will be outdoors. I think she has another date tomorrow night. She went to a new restaurant yesterday in Chicago to celebrate a birthday with her 4 best friends. It is called Rose Mary and opened by the winner of Top Chef Season 15, Joe Flamm. She highly recommends it and says we should go.
Off to cook dinner!
I am using the like button to mark where I am , so please don't think I like when you post something that seems unusual to like : )
I think I would like journal? But, not sure if I would use it? And how I would you use one?
I don't write a lot .but, I like teacups and teapots and vintage things and such but I think I would have trouble found things for and art journal. Do you like journals? Have you made journals,? If so what can do like to make and how did you get started making journals.
Thanks Linda

Linda I have a few journals. I use them for my thoughts and others for travelling and notes. I mainly buy them but have made a junk journal too. Sharon and Ann can direct you to the right spot for junk journals, plus there’s a junk journal thread on this site. Enjoy
Great photos Kathy.
Ann get well and sending hugs. Rest lots.
Sorry if I miss some chat..I have to rush.
Hi everyone. I’m having my first jab today..eek. Waving

Linda, I have made some art journal pages as part of challenges, but I don't journal. I tried keeping a diary once when I was a kid. I think that may have lasted about a week. Just not my thing. My sister, on the other hand, kept diaries for years. There are tons of youtube videos and blog posts on just about any type of journal, so do a little searching, and you may find something that interests you.
So, What I said teacups and teapots and vintage stuffed and such? what kind journals would someone consider those? so I can search for the right names? Or the right ones you might say?
Thanks Linda

Linda I would go to YouTube and just search on journals, or even vintage journals. There’s so many. Dr Sonja makes journals and maybe ask her too.

shelly thank goodness you found where the lady lives, that really is scary, my Mums sister had it and had to go In a home for her own safety after my Uncle died, my Mum was used to worry about it.
Oh Ann, I’m so sorry to hear that you have COVID, that’s scary but they do say you can still catch it, take care of yourself , keep taking vitamin C our DIL said it helps!
Nope don't have Covid, Jan. Doctor just thinks it is! LOL!
It's first on the list, if you are sick it must be Covid these days!
I said to her that I was in contact with germs in our pool as I was cleaning it, she right away said you can't get sick from cleaning a pool! Now that was dumb! Pool was full of all sorts of creatures!
I really believe I picked up something from there, it fits, 6 days after opening the pool I am sick. It just makes sense!
Ann I’m pleased to hear that, you do have to be careful with pool cleaning stuff, I refuse to touch the chlorine or even open the tub, makes your eyes water.
I just found it so funny, that the doctor would not even think that it was from the pool! My confidence in them went down the toilet! Yet they ask you what have you been doing the last few weeks. Me go no where see no one, but cleaned a dirty pool!
Ok I have vented enough for today! LOL! I just hate being sick! Cuts down on crafting time!
Ann I hate being sick but after six weeks I’m finally feeling well but I still aren’t got the energy to craft, I had ten minutes in my craft room today and I just moved pieces f paper around.
Good morning! Just like that I go from wearing shorts until I leave for work back to long pants and a light jacket. I'm enjoying it. Next week we have triple digits back in the forecast so just like that, I'll be back to shorts.
Last night I discovered that my stash of thank you cards is low. I try to keep stash in the different categories but, somehow, hadn't realized I had used most of my thank you cards and DD2 is needing some so I browsed the challenges, saw today's challenge of faux torn paper and made four thank you cards last night. It also, of course, works with this week's alphabet challenge. I haven't taken photos yet but really like making the faux torn paper cards. They are great for mailing too as they are one layer cards. Win, win!
Ann, yes, isn't it interesting how covid has cured all the other ailments people would get? And what the doctor told you, "It doesn't matter if you have your shots, you can still get covid." Why get the shots if that can still happen? I guess it is more like the flu shot where they guess what strain is coming and some years they miss by a long shot. Sorry Athena is throwing up, hoping that is done and you can get rest and yes, vitamin C.
Kathy, Dean is so adorable! What a darling photo of him.
Shelly, I'm so glad that if that lady had to wander from her family and get lost, she ended up in your neighborhood where people could help get her back. So sad and so hard for her family too.
Shirl, check out today's challenge for a possible faux technique. I had fun with it last night.
I hope Kandie's procedure went well yesterday.
I just looked at the time and have to jet, chat with you later!
Hugs to Ann and KAndie, and anyone else who isn't in tiptop shape today.......
I am having a fab day! My DGD Erin called at 7:30 this AM and said she would come and visit if we didn't mind! She came at 9:45 and just left.....short visit, but we talked and talked. She brought us lemon meringue tarts. YUM!
Headache still with me......and will be as long as I last. All the fault of the brain aneurysm, but I can deal with it. Had fun making a card for DD using the faux torn paper tute..........easy! She hates the heat. Can't say I'm as fold of it as I used to be. I don't miss our pool at all, but sure did love being in the hot tub this morning with my second cup of coffee!
Today is cooler and the humidity is so much better! We have windows and doors open. Nice change.
Off to make DH and me some lunch. Hugs to you all. I did spend some time making comments in the ABC's. About time I did. Seeya.

Anybody can visit me if they have lemon tarts for me.
Yes you can still get Covid, it would probably be one of the variants floating around. About 7 years ago, I came down with terrible sore throat. It was so bad, the doc gave me one high dose of Prednisone, I couldn't swallow spit. I went twice for strep test, both negative. Lasted about 6 weeks. I could only eat cold things, would suck on ice cubes. Never has happened since. I put it down to an allergy. That's the last time I was sick. For real!!!!!
Catherine, I meant to comment on your daughter and her apology. Very emotionally mature. And when one apologizes, one can never assume that it will be accepted. That's not why one apologizes. I would be so proud too.
Ann, you've also been doing a lot of painting, which would possibly give you a sore throat, especially if you've had the house closed up with the AC on. And didn't you say you were getting new flooring? Could be something in whatever they use installing that.
So sorry you aren’t feeling great Ann. We were listening to our Health Minister talk about why people need to get their jabs, and yes you can still get Covid but milder symptoms. We will all need booster shots each year like the flu jab. I hope you come good soon.
Sorry you aren’t going great either Anne.
Group hug needed.
So far so good..no side effects. I’m still going to have a lazy day. I have my faux card to finish which I started on Monday.
Happy weekend everyone

Ladies I really don’t know how to thank you all, when I opened the mailbox this morning I was astounded and overwhelmed when I saw the card, you ladies are awesome as my GSs would say, it’s making me cry typing this, you are all so kind thinking of me, it cheered me up so much as I’ve been feeling so down , it seems one thing after another lately.
im not sure how you managed to make the card but knowing how resourceful you ladies are I shouldn’t be surprised really, thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart, your friendship Means so much , I really do appreciate every single one of you, it’s been a trying time for everyone this last year but let’s hope thing will get better pretty soon.
