control key

I'm sorry, but when I hold the control key and scroll nothing happens.

Same here. can't get it to work!

Are you trying to enlarge text? It works for me.
You can also try to press + while holding the Ctrl key, works for me too.

It all depends on what internet browser you use.

lesliespringer 09-07-2007 10:19 PM

I have microsoft internet explorer. I can't get it to work.

Stampingmathilda 09-07-2007 10:34 PM

Tried it in Internet Explorer and in Firefox, both work for me.

And I thought the control key was there for online shopping! I always hit it before I process my shopping basket but it's never worked for me, either. It doesn't give me any control at all. ;-)

Sorry, grannypat, I couldn't resist (it's late) but what function are you trying to access with the control/scroll keys?

use the wheel on the mouse to scroll while holding the ctrl key, it makes it either larger or smaller (the screen)

:) How cool is that! TFS

oh CR@# it made mine smaller-too quickly-I didn't ask how to change it back first and couldn't even see the print to ask for fix-I should never touch keys I'm not familiar with!!! I had to sign out and back on to recover.

If I hold the Ctrl key and scroll "up" with the wheel, the text gets smaller. Just scroll "down" to make it bigger. (Or hit Ctrl and the zero key to return to normal.)

Another way:
  • In Firefox, click on View from the Menu bar and then select Text Size and from there select Increase or Decrease. (You will also see they have the shortcut keys of Ctrl and the "+" key.)
  • In Internet Explorer (6 for me), click on View from the Menu bar and then select Text Size and from there select from Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller or Smallest.
Part of the reason why the scroll wheel doesn't work for some could be how the mouse is programmed to work.

you should have a little magnifying glass in the lower right that you can zoom in with.

lesliespringer 09-08-2007 12:44 PM

Still can't get it to work. I will just keep using my glasses since they cost so much.
