wondering about the "list" of supplies we might need. Hope it isn't long before it is shared as I don't have much access to supplies....(except what I already have crammed into my ROOM of CHAOS!)
As soon as things get firmed up hostess and event wise, the supply list will come out!
YES! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to hear it's on! Hands-down, this has been my favorite SCS event in the past and I am about singing here this morning knowing I have it to look forward to! I can't wait to see that shopping list - if it manages to be posted by the end of the week, I'll be at Hobby Lobby as soon as they open Saturday morning to get in and out before the rest of the shoppers wake up and the store gets busy! :-D
THANK YOU, everyone, for making this happen for us!
Hugs and blessings,
Chrissy

I have never had the opportunity to take part in Falliday Fest because of my work schedule. I HOPE to be able to give it a try this year . . . . Do we get a list of supplies like DTGD? How long does it run for ? Any info would be helpful to this first-timer . . .
It's two weeks - just 13 challenges every other day and six tutorials for you to try!
( just to be certain, I have a couple of ideas but, not sure that is correct )
Stacy - it's a die that is a recognizable shape and does not need to be stamped on. You know how some dies are some kind of blob and you stamp a flower or a zebra or a boat on it? You don't wanna use those. You want a defined shape like a leaf, a flower, a tree, snowflake, butterfly, etc....
One of my questions was already answered above, but dies are kinda a new thing for me so would someone please explain what “Open space dies” are exactly.
I am so hoping to play along this year. The election will be over, so I should have some free time to play along!!

You're going to want a die that cuts a solid shape, rather than a skinny outline.

Had to laugh since i just re-read the Harry Potter series and where I kept reading Room of Chaos, my mind automatically switched it to "room of requirement" which fits for me since every single item in there was *required* as the time. lol
I'll hafta see if i can find the Falliday dept of posts here on SCS!!!
Ohh, looking forward to getting into my craft room once I get home!!! Glad it lasts 2 weeks! Should arrive home on the 6th of November! After 18 hours in the car : )
One of my favorite older tutorials from Falliday fest was making an ornament out of felt that was stamped on- I think I will do another this year before the holidays : )
Have a fabulous day! We are taking a drive over to Telluride today and will have a social distancing lunch with my nephew, and joining me, my hubby, twins, DIL and baby : ) DD1 has never been there, and it is just so beautiful!!!
Just reread the list - water reactive ink. Is that different from water based ink - like SU! ink pads? I did google and saw but didn’t (yet) watch some videos for Spectrum Noir ink pads. It doesn’t look like Joanns and Michael’s carry those so not sure I could get any before November 2nd. Thanks

Water reactive inks would be distress inks, distress oxide inks, and the reactive Hero Arts inks (not to be confused with regular dye inks).
Can whoever put dryer sheets on the list for their challenge let me know if there is something else I could use - I am SEVERLY allergic to the chemicals that are on those things.

You don't have to use dryer sheets. You can just use glitter all over your card to created a frosted look. It will make more sense when I post challenge. There are several options.

We don’t have dryer sheets here. Glad we don’t need them lol. I think I have the rest. I’m sure in my chaos room..I love that term...I can find something that will fit.

JUst checked out the gel plate tutorial(not a Falliday thing) hope to use mine similar to that one and any other way presented...I finally purchased one this summer but have yet to have enough uninterrupted time to use it-----doing daycare for grands due to Covid seems to take more time than I remember it taking when my own were young. OH well.....can't wait for the opening day of Falliday....I think we should have fanfare and trumpets and a parade or something.....

I'm getting email notices for the host/chat thread but I don't have permission to see them. Should I? Dina, didn't know you had surgery, hope all continues to go well!
Yes - hysterectomy/pelvic floor repair on Sept. 18. Recovery has gone very smoothly and I am soooooooooooooo happy to be free of all the reasons I needed those surgeries done!
