What about fun flock? It's soft and can be billowy looking. There's also the liquid applique stuff too. That smashes down though when you send the card through the mail.

I'm too cheap to buy the SU scissors yet...there are too many stamps, colors & ribbons oh my!! I use the cutter bees and although your hand gets a little sore, they worked just fine for me!
