I do use Encore in an empty wheel cartridge. It works great ... like versamark in a wheel cartrigde it does dry out much more quickly so I keep the cartridge & reinker together in a ziploc to help...

I have done this with versamark refill and jumbo roller cartridge to do the technique from the cover of nov SS with the chalks. It took longer to soak in and I did apply 2-3 times to cartridge...
