I don't have a huge collection of dies and have a simple system which might not work for you. I store my dies upright in baskets in their original envelope. The cuts are stored right behind the dies...

Wood veneer source

I got a collection of veneer pages from an architects' firm which was cleaning out old samples. Decorators, paint and hardware stores are other resources which may be happy to give away outdated...

Does anyone have any suggestions for aligning like components in a grid?
