I rarely use ribbon for cards and almost tossed it all but then luckily I realized I do use it for packaging and gift wrapping. so much better than curling ribbon!

One more thing that helps is to limit the items by the size of the container. So, if all your stamps sets have to be on one shelf, then purge until they fit!
