99 times out of 100 it's a problem with the usb connection. Cricuts don't like hubs so make sure you connect straight to the laptop, if you're already doing that try a different port or lead.

Not all acrylic stamps are the same. I have some that work beautifully with AP ink, others hate every ink bar versafine even after they've been keyed with a rubber/sandpaper.
