I too have exceeded my May goal (by 19 pages) and have finished our Italy trip. I'm going to take a bit of a break for a couple of days, then decide what will be my next project. Next month, I think my goal will not to be finish pages -- but to relearn how to upload pictures of my pages!

I'm happy to say, I've met and exceeded my goal for May! First time in a while--I've been working on a 10-page challenge for May on the Divine Digital site, which has kept me focused. Here are the pages that let me meet and go over my goal:

Zoo Sprayground

Dad Loved His Roses

Sorry if I came across rather bold. I'm sorry Patti - I didn't know your circumstances, and I would never deliberately say something in a negative way. But do try to listen to your doctor and try to slow down somewhat -- and as Wendy stated, hopefully someone else can help you out as well (((hugs))) to you.

What I love about this thread is how much everyone cares about each other and lends their support. I'm glad to be a part of it!

Ok, I have a question for you ladies. I live in England now so it's not like I can take a jaunt out to the local Michael's or Joann's for scrapbook supplies, and very shortly I will be starting on two more baby books (I need less fertile friends, these will be the second books for both ladies!). Got any suggestions for cute 12x12 baby albums? Don't know the sex of either baby yet but I think one will be a boy and the other a girl. I need an online retailer, preferably one that can ship to APO boxes, or else I'll ask my sweet mama to shop for me ;) Links appreciated!

Christy - I shop online a LOT with OhMyCrafts based in Utah (of course - don't all good scrapbooking things come from Utah). I have found them amazing to work with. I have attended 3 of their s/b functions so have made a wonderful friendship with the family. I would most definitely give them a try.

Hey everyone! How are you? I am out of town at my grandkids, but look at me! I got a new laptop! Yea! So, I usually post pages that I and DGD do, but this trip did invitations to her birthday party found here.
But if you want to look here are our other pages we have worked on in the past.

Will get started on scrapbooking when I get back end of next week!

Here is the final layout for May that helped me meet my goal this month. I did do a second page in my Disney album with pics of Minnie Mouse but it is virtually identical to the Mickey one so I didn't upload that one.

Hope's Birthday

Had fun with this one trying to figure out how to get the fairies off the white background they came on using the Magic Wand tool. Quite the experience! TFL!

I've completed more pages, and the end (of the month and of my LOAD challenge) is in sight. Woohoo! I've actually been keeping up with my LOAD, but I didn't post all the pictures in the gallery. You can always check out my blog if you want to see the whole month's layouts.

Welcome Baby

Hoping everyone is staying safe and having a happy spring...it has been quite rainy and stormy here but thankfully, we have not been getting tornados...

I managed to get my act together and actually meet my goal this month; just uploaded these layouts to the gallery:

Botanical Gardens

Funky Statues

Churaumi Aquarium

Camp Butler

Butterfly Park

These are the start of the album I'm doing for my parents' trip to Okinawa in 2008...at the beginning of May I was thinking maybe I could get the entire thing done this month but haha NO. It's about 1/3 done now so not too shabby...might get another couple layouts done before the weekend but I can't scrap them 'cause we're going to Scotland. Woohoo!

Off to comment in the gallery, I'm way behind with that...

Kick back and relax, definitely the way to go. I think I've managed to use the Force to get my DH to cook dinner tonight...

Thursday Challenge this week is based on your kitchen. Your pictures do not have to be of your kitchen.

First take the color of your kitchen and use it as the main color theme for you page.

How many windows do you have.....make that the number of pictures you use on your page

and to finish your page do you like things to sit on your counters...if so use up most of the space on your page if you do not have much on your counters leave some white space.

Here's mine, Patti!! I enjoyed making this page!

Great page! TFS. Just figure this is the beginning of being behind on your scrapbooking until you retire. My mom, at 70 something just completed a baby book for me as a Christmas gift...nearly 50 years after my first year on earth. I can appreciate it now. So, no worries for you and Phoenix. Enjoy her now, and get to the scrapbooking when you need a creative release. When my kids were something like 5, 12 and 14, I started scrapbooking...so I was way behind when I started. I figured I could do a Christmas album a 2 page layout per year. I got 20 years done, but and kept on target for a few years, but am now two years behind! Should be easy to catch up, if I ever set my mind to it.

Ok ladies, I need your help...I started haunting your blog in April. I posted that I didn't even know where my photos were (after moving a year ago). I did manage to find them, but haven't gotten the inspiration to get any of them into scrapbook pages. I even sorted some of them into piles which have been laying on my craft room floor for weeks now...I have to step over them to get to my punches...I was hoping having them out and "in my way" would get me to do something with them. But alas, they are still sitting there!!! any tips on how to get out of the slump and get started putting them on some pages???

I am getting my inspiration from looking at eveyones layouts..
I've also looked at the scrapbook sketches for 1 and 2 page layouts and now I've started an inspiration book where I collect ideas from everywhere, books magazines, nature on-line resources, you tube etc etc. I'm only getting started but I know this will become an obsession with me, I'm hooked ;)

I can't step over my pictures to get me motivated. After I have sorted my pictures, I "wrap" them in paper and label what they are. I then put them into a photo box. That way when I feel like scrapping, I take out only one "envelope" and work on it. I don't feel overwhelmed this way as I'm not looking at the hordes of pictures to do -- only those on my desk.

If I have a trip or special occasion to do, that gets its very own photo box. All paraphernalia for that "trip" gets put into that box. I still sort the pictures like above inside the box. I then just take out one section and work on it until it is gone.

This just works for me. I haven't started my kids albums yet -- and they are 30, 25, 25 and 23! But I am mostly caught up on our two grandsons -- with another on the way Sept 2nd!

Looking through the gallery here always helps me. As far as the pictures go - pick up the box and start looking through your pictures. The first set that 'speak to you' is where you should start (it will help get your mojo flowing).

I don't know if you are a single or double page scrapper, but if you go to Page|Maps, they have a lot of single and double page sketches with examples (the past ones are in the archive section). What I do is look for a sketch that will work with my photos, once I find that, I pick out the papers and embellishments and then you are all set to put your art together! Hope this helps

I am working on the Scrapbook Variety Challenge. I should have it posted in a little bit. I just need to get my sample page done.

To get started scrapping those photos, I think you just have to jump in. Check out the scrapbook challenges and the VSBN mini challenges. Those always help me get pages done. When I have someone else giving me a component in my LO, that's one less thing I have to think about. ;)

Sounds like you need a plan! Here's my advice.

1. Start by deciding what photos you want to scrap. Are you doing chronological? If so, I would start with this year and get the most recent memories scrapped first. Or maybe you want to do a vacation album, or a baby album, etc. If so, just leave those photos out and put the rest in an organized photo box. That way it won't seem overwhelming to see all the photos you "have to" scrap.

2. It helps me to have a list of pages I want to scrap, which includes the # of photos so I know whether to do a single or double page spread.

3. Decide how you want to scrap your first layout: will you use a sketch, or maybe scraplift a layout you've seen online or in a magazine?

4. Pick papers and embellishments that match your photos, and start scrapping. You know your schedule, so you know how much time you can devote to scrapping, but I would set myself a weekly goal. Even if you only complete one layout this week, you have at least gotten started!

Good luck, and be sure to share your layouts with us. The ladies on this thread are SO supportive.
