What wonderful news about your DGS. He deserves to be excited, and you to be proud! How old is he now?

This would be just the thing to get me kickstarted back into "paper" crafts.
And some news to share: DGS was asked this year to be a CIT (Counselor in Training) at the summer day camp he's attended the past 2 years. He was SO excited. And they've offered to pay for him to become CPR, AED and First Aid certified through the American Heart Assoc which he thought was awesome. He's had quite a bit of learning already with first aid through cub scouts and boy scouts so this will certainly be a feather in his cap ... my little boy is growing up...it's so hard to believe some times!

It's hard to believe but he's only 11-1/2 years old! I thought he'd have to be at least 13 or 14 before they would let him do it but I filled out the reg form that had his birthdate on it and they didn't say anything. I think boy scouts has really matured him a lot especially this past year. I think it will be a good experience for him to start breaking him into the world of "work" and responsibility.
This week has seemed especially long, I am ready for the weekend. Yay, my scrap MOJO from last weekend seems to have stayed which is good for getting more pages done
I got invited to another crop here in town but looking forward to just scrapping in my own space this weekend.
I've been busy & gone most of the week so I'm staying home today! I'm getting behind on scrapping plus I'm having my annual SU party next week so those are on my agenda today.
For my SU guests I have a project plus am making a recipe card as a thank you gift. Then on 4/11, we're going to a stamping gathering & I signed up for an ATC & a recipe card swap. I am going to use my SU project for my shoebox & will use my thank you for the recipe swap. I figured that would cut down on the design work! I do have my ATC designed.
Tomorrow friends from our campground will be coming to town so we're getting together for lunch & dinner...that'll be a full day. THEN Sunday should be a free day to scrap!!!

Wow 11 1/2 years old, that is fantastic. He will benefit so much from that experience and it will help him throughout his lifetime. Gosh you must be so proud. Scouts can do a lot for a kid and it sounds like he'll have fun too!
For those wondering when the sketch challenge is going to be posted: I am working really hard on finishing up prep for my son's birthday party this afternoon and haven't gotten a chance to create a sketch yet. Hopefully I will have some down time after the party and can get it done this evening! Sorry for the delay, but I've been planning the party all week and it didn't leave much time for other stuff.
Your priorities are in order, Cheryl. Enjoy your son's party! We can wait for the challenge! And with any luck, you'll manage to get some photos to scrap too! Have fun!
I know I would never get 20 pages done. I love to scrap and make cards, but I like to talk too!! Ha ha
Me too! I've tried maybe 2 times to go out of the house to scrap and I never get anything constructive done. I know CKC does crops but I'd rather takes classes than do the crops. I'd rather sit with my PC and play with Photoshop Elements. I think I've got a page done..just need to look through files to get some more embellishments on the page (kind of plain right now).

I agree! B-day Parties are much more fun and important! I miss those days, enjoy them while you still can because --- time flies!

Well, finally getting pages uploaded to my gallery from last week's crop ... Finishing more cards and pages today while watching my Sparty's Win over Virginia (Go Green, right Ann?!)
Just read the whole thread and am headed to the gallery to leave some love!
So here's a story...
As part of our church's program for the 8-11 year old girls, my daughter has been making a scrapbook. She came home thrilled over the moon that she "finally" had her OWN scrapbook and her OWN binder. (...what do you think those seven books on my shelf that are her's, are called??) She had to finish some pages at home, so I pulled out all the stuff I can't use in my business, which means most of it was purchased before 2004 when I signed up with Stampin' Up! (talk about stash....!) I told her to pick any scrapbook off our shelf so I could show her how I group events and then add embellishments...she picked my first scrapbook, made in 1994 and said "THIS one is my favorite!!" ...the one that isn't grouped by event and I used all those fancy scissors to crop all the photos to death.....
Needless to say, she too cropped photos to death, and used TONS of stickers ALL over her pages, haha, but! She had a ton of fun and was so proud of every page and absolutely loved it!
Now I just wonder if she'll ever scrapbook with ME. haha....

I have a bunch of those fancy scissors and sticker sneeze scrapbooks my own self, too funny! I worked at a scrapbook store in college, and I once got paid to make a scrapbook for this one lady, cheerleader stuff I think. There was one layout where I got carried away and just put way too much stuff on it, both me and the store owner thought--the customer came in and couldn't stop raving about that one layout, she loved it!!
I have gotten to my 20 pages for March, hope to upload several layouts today and do some commenting. Cheers, y'all, and happy scrappin'!

Haha! I love that description Christy- "sticker sneeze scrapbooks". That covers it perfectly!

Yup, I have a few of those pages. I still have my "decorative scissors" and sticker binder in a closet somewhere ...
Is anyone else with me on being surprised that Easter is around the corner...
No, I can't believe it! Easter, then graduation...time is just flying by too fast!!
Sticker Sneezing was popular a long long time ago ;)! I have a few pages too . I tried to incorporate the decorative scissors into one of the stash buster challenges and afterwards I wondered what the heck was I thinking!! It was really hard to cut a strait line...can't imagine using them on a regular basis!!
My DD used them for an art project, she made some vine 'looking' strips. It was Rapunzel's Tower made completely of cardboard or cardboard paper. We used several of my old tools for her art class, otherwise they'd be gone!

That's where my scissors were...in the kids art supply box.

Here's Task 1 for March's Stash Busters Challenge. I'm trying hard to get caught up. My DSIL had 2 minor surgeries this month and lots of follow up appointments I've been helping out so I haven't been as creative as I'd like to have been.
I'm on a roll...here's my final task for the progressive challenge. Talk about timing, we're getting our boat out of storage tomorrow!
Thanks to Wendy for another fun challenge! Tomorrow I'm going to work on the Scraplift Challenge. I have my layout all picked out, just need to find the photo.
It's the last weekend in March and with "snow flurries" at least showing up here in Ohio, it's still a GREAT time to stay in and get pages done!
I'm helping out getting us "Updated" on March Challenges ... always good to have some additional motivation Our Regular Challenge Hostess will be back with us in April, all good!
Can I just mention how much I absolutely LOVE Saturdays!
In between some neglected house stuff, a paper for the class I'm taking and some basketball, I have several pages laid out to finish for this month. How about everyone else?
Wishing you Scrappy Moments this weekend ;)

I just finished my layout, School Photo for the March Scraplift Challenge. We were to scraplift one of our own layouts. You'd better put on your sunglasses because it's bright...LOL! Thanks Sharon!!
Here's my original, Visit with Santa from last year. Notice it's the same subject.
My hubby took the kids off for several hours this afternoon, so I finally got time to scrap - woohoo! We're off to Big Bear tomorrow for a mini vacation, so probably no more scrapping this month, but at least I got two layouts done.
