Arrow July Scrapping and Chatter - sbc18jul

Scrappin' Challenge 2018 Can you believe this is our 10th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2017 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2018! Let's keep scrappin'.

It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2018! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...

What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!

Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.

*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.

You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!

The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.

Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2018 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!

We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc18jul"

Talking Happy HELLO

Waving a BIG "HI!" to all my Scrappy SCS Sisters from
Las Vegas, NV!

I have an (unbelievable) FUN Summer Plan with 5 weeks out in the Northwest - UT, NV, AZ, OR and WA! So many stops. Of course, much of it is for work but a healthy dose of personal time and fun planned in when I can because who knows when I can get back here to these amazing locations.

I just finished with CTMH Convention and it was "WOW!" Met some great gals from MI I'm sure we'll hang out again soon and my roomie and I had a BLAST! We stayed at a resort and so we had not only great creative sessions but we filled the downtime with sun, fun, shows and outings to Vegas area.

Next stop, Arizona.

I've missed all of you, hope to be a little less crazy schedule in July ... but you all know me ... as soon as I say that, it usually brings even more chaos

Another full weekend with family wedding fun in St Louis. I used to bounce back faster....if I can fight the urge to take a nap I may get started on a scrap page or two later today. Got 6 pages done in June, which isn’t much but more than I managed in May. Will set goal for 5 pages again for July and hope I can surpass it. Very full calendar this whole summer. I will try to get to the challenges I missed in May and June. I really enjoy those, but didn’t get to them all recently. Glad there is no deadline on those.

July goal 5 YTD 84

Hey Lela! Such exciting places. I'm certainly envious. Wish you a wonderful time traveling and seeing the sights.

Oh, how nice to have a wedding, Amy, love and blessings to the couple!

Here are my numbers: YTD - 58;Goal for July - 10 pages. I've been thinking I'd like to make it to 120 for the end of the year, I could get there! This month should allow me time to scrap, do still have some sewing to do, but I think I can manage both.

Just back from 4 days at KC Stamp &Scrapbook Expo! A lot of work, in our booth, but a lot of fun, too!

43 pages YTD. Made my June goal of 25, so will try 12 for July with year goal is 100.

Happy Canada Day from Canada!

My toes are all painted up but I will have to wait till dark before I go to my scrap room.. we have a heat alert!

I was planning to get stuff but.. a friend in need is a friend indeed! I took my friend to the hospital for a pedicure! Actually she stepped on a piece of broken glass! The problem was that a few hours there my blood sugar was getting low... My friend was in pain and shaking like a leaf but she is 5' 9" and I am not... Her hubby was home alone and we were worried he may fall.. and the doc was gonna give her something penicillin based and she is allergic!

A day we survived and just want to forget! I still have to figure how to get her prescription filled when I am not related to her... On a holiday weekend of course!

Wow, what a day! Glad you made it through. Maybe this is something you could scrapbook so you could look back on it later and be thankful all your days aren't like this!

I only did five layouts in June, and I have another crazy month ahead, so let's stick with five for July and see what happens. YTD layouts = 19. We're going to Yosemite in a few weeks, so I may have to switch gears from London pictures and get some photos scrapped from our 2012 Yosemite trip! It would be nice to have most of it done before I go again.

Lynn, post a photo of your toes with the maple leaf...awesome.

Sharon, here's a photo just for you...I did it and my case weighs 19 kilos...very happy. The capsules include my formal dresses....everything. The only other thing that has to go in my case are my shoes (3 pairs) and my toilet bag

Wow Jayne...super impressed with your packing skills! Have a safe & fabulous trip!

Cheryl, we went to same beach two years in a row and though I wanted to get to the previous years pics b4 we went that didn’t happen. So I took out some paper and wrote out my memories based on the pics I took for the first year b4 we left, so that I wouldn’t get it jumbled together with memories after 2nd trip. You might not need this, but it helped me.

Lynn, you are sure coming up with a Canada Day to Remember...that you probably want to forget!

Sharon, Can’t wait to hear about your Expo experience.

I overcame the nap urge and got two pages done today. It might be almost Independence Day, but in my scrapbook it’s Easter! Ha!

I forgot to add....I spent a couple of hours in my craft room getting my journal ready and putting together stash to take only to find that when I added it to my hand luggage and case it was heavy. Hubby and I chatted about whether I would have time to keep it updated and wouldn't I be better to just do what I always do and keep a "blog" on my iPad.......it's now all taken out of the luggage and back in the craft room...doh!

I used to always take travel journals and kept them pretty much up to date until iPads came along....I miss writing and doodling as we travel. i shall just have to use it for my travel pages when I come back....it's a shame but I have to be realistic.
Nite...jx

Last day of a long weekend. We are still under a heat alert. Not certain when I will get to see my son, I asked him for Canada Day pictures.

Default June numbers and July goals

I got 16 pages done in June. YTD is 148 and my goal for July is 16. We'll be in Yellowstone for half of the month, so I lowered my goal.

I was going to start scrapping Yosemite pictures when I realized I don't have any printed. Oops! Now I have to decide whether to stick with scrapping Hampton Court or take a day off to edit my Yosemite pictures. In the meantime, I have two July layouts finished so here they are for your viewing pleasure.

Happy Independence Day to all my Friends from the USA! I was hoping to celebrate my freedom from having to use a USB cord to cut anything from Design Space on my new Cricut Explore Air 2, but then I discovered that the wireless feature only works if your PC is Bluetooth enabled. I was really close to boxing the thing up and sending it back to ProvoCraft, but I realized I could design on my PC and then switch over to cutting using my iPhone. I think if I didn't own a few digital cartridges I still would have sent the machine back, but I'm going to try to get creative with using this. Still haven't linked my cartridges yet, though, just in case. I feel like I've moved back to the dark ages when I had to fire up my computer just to cut something with my Wishblade . . . My Expression will continue to have priority on my desk so I don't have to access Design Space just to cut a circle, but I cleared shelf space right next to my desk for My Explore Air so I can drag it over when I want to cut more complex designs or use digital cartridges. Guess my arm muscles will get a workout from now on!

Hey everyone! We are still under a heat alert.

I have the Cricut expression the is connected with a cable so I know it SHOULD connect. I have it on a cart that I can slide out from under my table. I don't use it as much as I should cause I need all that space to feed the mat in and out. I have linked all my cartridge and put then in the storage locker.

I am going to take it easy and wait for my son to stop by after work. My new older model is Spanish.. yup that is what you get once a phone gets a reduced price. It is a new in box phone... My son set it up English for me but it needs a system update.

The prompts for One Little word is mixed media but I don't have AC in that room. May not be crafting much this month.

Talking Hello

Happy 4th from Las Vegas, NV!

I'm on the 2nd week of my Adventure out West. Loving every minute of it. Last 2 days spent in Nogales, AZ in meetings, back to Vegas for the holiday and weekend and then on over to Reno, NV for next weeks meetings.

I'm going to have to take a month off work just to scrap all my Ahhh-mazing photos! Last week at CTMH Convention was also terrific ... so much new crafty goodness coming out in the new stuff. I keep telling myself I can't spend too much traveling

Tonight I'm headed over to a nearby part for fireworks and fun but this afternoon I've spent getting all my memoriabilia sorted, my notes from each day lined up and a couple of scrap pages laid out. This Midwest girl though needs some sunshine and I"m finding after 5pm here it's more tolerable so I'm headed out for a splash in the pool before dinner. First though, the treadmill. I was lazy and didn't get it done this morning ...

Happy "scrappy" 4th

Thanks Lynn, and was that you on my ?Blog as FM? I think it was. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Indepence Day everyone! We went out to eat, and now just listening to all the fireworks. They are not so loud here as they were where we lived before. So, we should be able to sleep.

Lela, so glad you are enjoying yourself! Everyone try to stay cool! The heat has been terrible!

Happy Independence Day to my American friends for yesterday. I thought of you whilst we were on our very long flights. We woke at 9am on Tuesday morning and went to bed at 6.30pm UK time Wednesday. About 36 hrs later. We were shattered. Currently resting our feet in sunny Glasgow. It’s warm. Happy creating.

Finished another layout yesterday in between the July 4th parade, barbecue, and fireworks. Since my hubby and two oldest boys are leaving on a camping trip on Sunday, we decided to take it easy on Independence Day, so no guests meant more scrappy time! I managed to cut something using my new Cricut, but I can tell there is going to be quite a learning curve ahead. Anyone else use Design Space?

How exciting to hear from you, Lela - keep taking photos, so smart of you to keep notes and memorabilia together.

Lynn, I was stunned when I looked up the temps you are having in Toronto. You would have a major readjustment if you lived when I am. We are thankful for the mid 80's F (30 C), we dread the high 90's F (35 C). Looks like you are in for some rain, we have been having thunderstorms just about every afternoon for weeks. And to think I grew up in Miami, FL, even hotter, with no air conditioning in homes or schools. I know how blessed I am to have central AC in my home today.

Cheryl, I have Design Space and am still learning it but I'm coming along. I can do What I need to do, at least. I love that I can manipulate the words, in particular, the joining with welding. Making my images literally any size is nice too. You can find help for specifics by asking on the Internet, but, it isn't out of reason to get fabulous results - keep working at it. Perhaps, if you want to ask me a question, I may be able to assist. Always willing to help out a scrappy sister!

Jayne! So excited for you! Prayers for your safety. Remember to make great notes so you can scrap back home. Have fabulous fun!

Today is the hottest day so far this summer in Southern California: 80 degrees F at 8 am and expected to go to 112 by 2 pm. Going to stay indoors as much as possible!

JoyceAnn, my next Cricut goal is to learn to weld words in Design Space. I could do it in Craft Room, but now I just need to sit down and figure it out in the new software. In some ways, it feels like going back to elementary school when you've already graduated from high school, but at least I have you and a couple of other people to answer questions when I get stumped. And I don't have to pass any exams - LOL!
