December Scrappin' and Chatter - sbc21dec
Scrappin' Challenge 2021 Can you believe this is our 13th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?!
We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2020 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2021! Let's keep scrappin'. It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2021! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops... What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process!
Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. *In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us. You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends. Are you UP for the CHALLENGE?Come and Play in the 2021 Scrapbook Challenge!
Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends! We'd love to "oohh" and "/span>sbc21dec

Working On It Wednesdays
Happy 2021 Scrappy SCS Friends
This year instead of "Challenges" we're going to have a new opportunity for Inspiration. It's called,
Working On It Wednesdays
Each Wednesday a Hostess will post an Inspiration Idea, Question, Discussion, Picture, Sketch, Link to a past Challenge, a new challenge ... just something that may inspire a page.
We will keep track of how many each of us participate in by doing a page/card from what's posted. Hopefully at the end of 2021, we'll have 52 more cards or scrap pages from our Wednesday happenings.
I'm hoping by keeping it more casual, we'll get others who are willing to help do a post for the week so it doesn't fall to the same people all the time? It should mix it up some.
All of the Wednesday Posts will be Listed here in our Thread so you don't have to go looking for it.
The Work On It Wednesday Posts will be in the following Post

2022 --- What do we do?
Hey Scrappy Friends, unfortunately I'm still struggling somewhat with getting over the reaction I had to the Booster. Whew, it's been a doozy. Let's hope I'm moving in a better direction although last time I thought that/said that, I had a setback.
Just wondering what your thoughts were for our Scrapping Group for 2022.
I'd like to do something "new" that inspires, encourages all of us. It looks like we may not be going back to "normal" as soon as we thought so it's good to have creative inspiration and friends to help us along with life

Hi everyone. As we look forward to our month of December, I must say I want to be close to all of you, my fellow scrappers.
Not sure how much scrapping I will do this month, so no goals for me. Don't know how many layouts I did in November, but it wasn't much. I have been doing more cards lately. Prior to that I did lots of sewing, and still planned to do more.
I do have an Advent Daily Journal going. This was inspired by the December Daily one might do during this time. Mine will pertain to the Advent prayers and preparations and runs Nov 28 thru Dec 24.
Over the past several months I have found that I miss the connection to you group of crafters. I want that connection back.
For now I pray for your health, especially Lela and Jayne who have shared your difficulties with us.
I hope others will find the camaraderie something you will wish to continue, even when your layouts are scarce. As the months come and go, so will our mojo to scrap, but let's still be in touch.

I started an apron for my DGGD's American Girl doll tonight. Got the pattern cut out. The amount of tiny little pieces are frightening! Anyway, I hope to finish up some more Christmas cards soon. I truly have several groups of photos I would enjoy scrapping, as soon as I can get this more important stuff out of the way. Good luck with your album and Amazon orders, Sharon!

I definitely enjoy chatting with this group!
I am one page away from 2021 goal of 120 and I don't know if I'll get it done this month. I really want to scrap, especially since I've unearthed so many fun scrappy supplies, putting my craft room together. It's still a huge work in progress, partly because last time I had a craft room it was also decidedly the office and I'm still trying to figure out what I really need, and how best to store it all.
But there's been a lot going on, just life, and my little one keeps being sick. I feel like someone has been "sick" since early October, and that is throwing a wrench in to everything. I am extremely looking forward to some peaceful Christmas evenings, and I am feeling pretty good about letting a lot go this year. HA.
I hope each of you have a lovely December too!

Joyce Ann so good to hear from you. I’m sorry I missed your birthday. Life has been busy this end. I haven’t scrapped for ages and only make one card sample a week for the WTUI challenge. I have started an art journal this week and enjoying just slapping paint down and not overthinking things. We will be travelling in our RV from mid next year and I doubt I will get back to scrapping but I do intend to do some travel journals along the way and also my Canon printer so I can print photos..well that’s the plan.
Wishing you all and your families a wonderful Xmas and a very happy and healthy 2022.

Glad to see so many of you popping in for an update. Always glad to hear from you all no matter how long it has been. I did not get any scrapping finished in December, but am eyeing up some time next week hoping to get back in the swing a bit. I always get more done in Jan & Feb than any other months, so am glad I am only needing one more page to make my yearly goal of 125. As far as Lela's question, I do not have an answer. I love all the challenges, stashbusters, etc and manage to play pretty much all of them if I can get my pictures to fit with the theme. Maybe not right away, but eventually I do. I don't have any new ideas, but sometimes old is new again. Is there something that used to be done that would be good to bring back? I'm pretty much game to try anything. My sketch design team gig is up and I'm on my last month as a Dirty Girl. If there is something I can help with on a regular basis then let me know and teach me how.
Dec goal 5

Hello Scrappers
Hey hey Scrappy Friends, I am actually upright and got some scrap pages done this weekend. I'm especially excited to get those uploaded, feels more "normal" than I have in awhile.
I sincerely HOPE and PRAY that 2022 is a better year for us, this one has been a doozy. My DH is recovering from the flu. We're not sure how he got it as it was one trip to the grocery, with a mask and hand sanitizing but somehow he's been down for the count. We are really hoping he's starting to get better. That was scary
December is always a month I get lots of scrapping done as I'm not traveling so I hope to keep that "tradition" alive! My kids are coming home for a visit (SO EXCITED) but it's a short one and I'll have the entire week between Christmas-New Years for fun and scrapping. I'm good with that
Even though our Group is small, I hope we can keep it going.
I VOTE for Scraplift Challenge Again and Maybe bringing back CHeryl Sketches a couple times a month?

Lela, so happy to hear you are doing better!!!
Right now I'm not making any plans to do layouts, but, perhaps January will change that.

So it’s a little bit more than half way through December and as always I find myself short on pages for the year. Although, I outdone myself. My moms 75th birthday gift was an explosion box, full of pictures and my first time giving something made by me. Felt very accomplished and realized that is not the amount or the quality, is the meaning and the feelings in everything you do and gift. My mom love it so much, and of course forgot to take pictures, but she took some to share with me. I also completed a Heidi Swapp Halloween mini scrapbook class , only needs pictures and a Christmas Daily. At the end I accomplished half way my goal in pages 12x12, but completed 1 mini heart album, the explosion box with more than a 12 pages each, and 2 mini albums (need pictures) and December daily. Plus all the cards that I made this year.
At the end I made the goal of 54 pages, although not all 12x12,. I’ll try to add pictures to the gallery for oct, nov and dec.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

So happy for your mom to have this beautiful and treasured birthday gift! Personally made gift is always the best. I still have cards my littles have given me over my 75 years :o

November and half of December were a total bust for my scrapbooking, but I did read a lot and completed a 3000 piece puzzle, so there is good all around! I am at 49 LOs YTD, so I obviously won't make my original goal of 100, so my new goal is 52, which would average out to one a week. Considering all the things that went on for me this year, 52 is actually quite an accomplishment. Guess that means my goal for December is 3. I got some mojo going this week, so here are two layouts I completed so far.

Lela, I saw your post about bringing back the sketches a couple times per month. I am open to it, but would like to get some input re: what people really want. I tend to do lots of multi-photo, double page layouts, so that's mainly what I create sketches for, especially since it's pretty easy to find single page sketches that feature only a couple of photos. What do other scrappers need?

I gave this some thought and think you are right about there being more of a need for a double page sketch. I rarely scrap doubles. However, that said, I can still use the double two ways. I can use one side at a time whether related photos or not, or would enjoy and utilize your talented sketches left or right as needed. To tell the truth many of the singles I see are not right for me anyway, I don't usually scrap a 3 in photo. So, I vote for doing doubles if you like!
Happy Christmas Eve, every one!
As for my paper crafting, I've done very little scrapping, mostly cards and not that many of those either. I finished a quilt. Picked it up for the quilters this morning and now just have the binding to add. Then I may find myself back at the scraping table.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I was surprised with a very fancy camera that I now need to learn how to use, haha... I haven't scrapped a thing this month, but my family all loved the calendars so that was happy to hear. My craft room is still a work in progress, but I'm hoping to dive in once school starts up again.
I love Cheryl's sketches and I do try to use the challenges here. I appreciate this group and hope to "see" you all in the new year!

Yes to scraplits and stashbusters, too!
Lea, I can help if you give me direction. Just let me know.

Happy New Year's Eve
Yay! It appears we're all in agreement ..... As for sketches, I was going to just pull from our Library as we have SO many there but Cheryl, we LOVE your sketches! Any new ones you want to contribute are always always welcome! I love 2pg sketches
I'm also a big fan of our Scraplift Challenge .... lets see if we can REVIVE that one also.
If any of you would like to select a sketch OR Scraplift one of the upcoming months, please post in the January Thread and we'll make a "calendar" of whose turn it is to select the challenges. Love it!
I'm busy scrapping today as I'm hosting a Virtual Crop tomorrow.. Looking forward to scrapping and (Zoom) chatting this weekend. I think I'm actually going to scrap Christmas 2021! I love to get those pages done right away
But first, I'm going to post our January 2022 Thread!
