I once spend 28 hours perfecting a page, it took me ages. Now I am lucky if I get one done in two days, cause I have to work during the day, get my DD and HB fed and in bed (DD) before doing the house work when I get home, and then I might have 1/2 - 1 hour to start a layout before I have to go to bed, to be rested enough to do it all again the next day, lol. Even my crafting days, I might only get a couple done, cause I tend to use them to just sit and take a break as much as catch up on craft.
I made a couple of darling cards on the weekend, I gave one away, so I can't show it. I am still embarrased about my Cardmaking:oops:, cause I just can't make them look good. I need to spend the next 8 years getting as good as my SB.
Hope you all had a great weekend!!
Jac

Today is DH birthday so we will go out for supper tonight to a steak house. I need to cut both guys' hair before we go though..both are getting pretty shabby looking. My BD is next Saturday...what a way to celebrate, huh? Making cards...lol! DGS BD is at the end of the month and our 15th Anniversary is on the 25th. We are going to Fogo de Chao in Philadelphia and spending overnight nearby. DGS gets to have a sleepover with a relative (he's SUPER excited) cause they have campfires and toasted marshmallows! So this month is definitely a full one! We have 3 other birthday parties to attend and then on Labor Day Monday, the neighborhood does a yard sale which I hope to get rid of lots of things so I've got that to prepare for as well. So much to do and so little time!
Terry, I feel exhausted just reading this!! When will you have some time just to sit down, have a coffee and relax? I suppose your anniversary will be a nice break. I have just been to a church weekend and we looked at personal Boundaries. Looks like you have set some with the church, but us women need to set a few with our families (who we would move heaven and earth for!!!).

I seem to have insomnia tonight...ugh! It will make for a long day tomorrow. Tonight I got another 2 pages finished up & some cards done! This afternoon we went to the National Forest not too far from us and rode a train through all the little cities along the river. It was very nice, probably beautiful in the Fall so I just may have to try it again! Here's my pages from this weekend:

Jacqui, I guess I'm not that patient...after so long for me I just have to say "done is done"....LOL!
I work full time as well but it's really different now that 1 son is off to college and the other high school, drives! It has really given me alot more time in my scrap/stamp room even though I still do all the house stuff when I get home. Enjoy this time because some day you'll have this "extra" time as well and it's just perfect for crafting!
As far as cards go, I like to play the Featured Stamper challenge because it helps me get ideas and you CASE the card you like, LOL! I've made more cards since I've been doing that...

This is a great tip Lela! I'm always overwhelmed when it comes to making cards and I really want to do more (I own enough stamp sets!). I'm going to try this out, thanks :-)

I know the feeling and unfortunately children do tend to take precedence in life. I can feel when I am started to shut down since the more I have to do the less I get done so once a year I seem to stop doing lots of things to regroup and recharge. (still trying to figure out how to work in scrapping time though)
Only 1 haircut got done this weekend but eating out (3 times) was great! (No cleanup) I'll probably work each evening this week preparing for the card making session on Saturday and as a result get no normal housework done which will all have to be caught up on Saturday and Sunday. I will assume that DH will take me out for my BD this weekend so that will be nice. I want to go shopping for something nice to wear on our weekend away too. If I manage work well this week, I can maybe have Friday to myself! Here's hoping!
Have a good day everyone!! It's back to work for me now. (so I can have Friday off)

How funny...I was thinking about her last week and wondering how she was doing too. I think I remember seeing a while back that they were in the process of moving again.
Christie is another one I haven't seen here lately either. She has such great layouts. She's been doing lots of cards but no pages lately.
Hello everyone. It's been several months since I've been able to play along with the scrappin' goal gals and I am ready to come back. I hope I can keep up with all the commenting and scrapping. My goal for August is going to be 7 pages. I created one last night and will try to upload it later.
I hope that you all are doing well. I have truly missed you so.

I meant to do some scrapping today, but all I have to show for it is a background paper and three matted pictures. I'm sure I'll get inspired tonight, though, probably right before bedtime, and then I'll have to choose between scrapping and sleeping. Such is life!
I always loved the featured stamper challenge when I was an avid card maker too. It helps you start with an idea instead of having to pull it all out of your head!
I used to do a lot of cards, but then I started doing SB pages--they seem more permanent and productive to me! And, of course, i have digi scrapping too, so cards are few and far between these days for me!

When I get like that right before bedtime, there's no sleep for me. My brain just starts seeing ideas and photos and supplies I own, and I have to at least get things started! Makes me crazy sometimes!!

Oh it is such a relief to know this happens to other people too!! Sometimes I end up sitting at a desk full of stuff for an hour with three photo's a piece of ribbon and a DP that I'm just not happy with:confused::confused:.
Being in my bedroom for crafting at the moment, I just don't want the time to be wasted cause I have to pack everything totally away, cause the house is still on show, so I MAKE myself do something, hence the pages I'd rather not show, lol.
Talking about pages, I think I should get to something tonight, as it is near the middle of the month, I have 8 pages to do, and I only have one half done..

I did not get even one page done in July because we unexpectedly had to put my "craft room" out of use! But I'm not going to stress over that - So since I still don't have my craft area back I am setting a lower goal.
New goal for August: 6 pages
Scrap to spend goal - $75
Matching savings goal - $75
Hip hip hurrah, Jenn!!! Can't wait to have you posting pages again!!
Thanks Wendy. It's gonna be so nice to just play along instead of having the pressure of hosting and coming up with challenges. There are lots of techniques I want to start incorporating into my pages. I want them to be works of art.
I'm in for this month with 4 again. I completed 6 last month by making a mini book for my dad. I have pictures but I haven't edited and uploaded yet.
I'm currently making another mini book, so I should hit my goal easily.

Finished a page last night YAY. Didn't think I would, was just going to choose a few things, and do it tonight, but I got the bug, and next thing I know it was finished. Will try and upload it tonight.

I finished my first scrapbook page swap, a Cricut swap (a goal I have is to use my cricut machine more often). I had to create 4 double page spreads, so that's 8 pages for this month. Here is a photo, the 'ribbon' is a hidden journaling tag.
It was a good mental transition for me from my big digi project to back to paper pages...now off to organize my photos so I can finally get some paper pages done :-)!
2 months into having my daughter and still no scrapbooking, hopefully starting in august or september, but still will be working on my goal for this year

Babies do take up a lot of time, and fitting some time to sleep is important too! Hope you get a little "me" scrapping time in soon!
