Thanks so much for this tutorial. Can't wait to start it! I love the tip about leaving the bead on the toothpick to coat with the dimensional glue. Very smart!
This was one of the best done tutorials I have seen, deatiled pictures and steps! Thank you so much, I just might make some because the tutorial was done so well.
Exactly what type of glue is that on the outside? I have never seen dimensional glue (never looked though either). What is the brand name? Does Michael's carry it?
What a nice, clear tutorial! On another tutorial I saw (on tvweekly) the demonstrator rolled a bead onto a Versamark pad and then tipped embossing powder over the surface and heated it. This gave a lovely effect too.
These are awesome!! My teenage son loves to make them with me! We roll them on a versamark pad and then clear EP (a couple of times) - gives them an almost glass like feel. Thanks for sharing - great tut!!
This is something I've never done, but have seen in the past. I am excited to give it a try finally, but I've never heard of dimensional glue either. Could our Crystal Effects (CE) be used in place of the glue? It dries clear and hard?
Thanks....I guess I could try it myself instead of asking, but then I wouldn't actually find out the answer for years... LOL!
OOpsy, I didn't even know people could post questions here so I never looked or answered!
I used Crystal Effects. I went looking in Tall Mouse and Michaels when I was out of CE, but nothing sounded like it would work like that. I ordered more Crystal Effects...
I am going to try these different ideas people posted! I don't have matte EP, and I think EP sounds too messy for me (I get messy with that stuff and then it makes me itch!)... but the matte modge podge... hmmm...
Well...paper bead on!!! I am going to have to search and see what y'all have done so I can get more ideas! Yes, they are fun to do with the kids of all ages. I just replied to a PM and shared that at promotion day I noticed one of my students with a stunning necklace. As I came approached her to comment, I noticed it was the necklace she had made in class using her paper beads! She was so proud! (heart)
What a really nice tutorial. What is sweeter or more gratifying than sharing your love of crafts with an interested child? These are so much fun to make. I can remember my grandmother showing my sister and me how to do these. Thanks for the nice pictures of precious young hands at work.
