Smile Gift Card

Does anyone have instructions for a quick & simple gift card holder? I am going to a wedding tomorrow and bought the happy couple a gift card but it did not come with an envelope.

Thank you!

I've got one... take a medium SU envelope and fold it in half (left to right; not top to bottom -- does that make sense??). Open it up -- cut just the flap part on the fold. Lick the left side and put it down just like you were sealing the envelope. Tuck the right side in and you've got a little pocket for the gift card. Decorate the front -- add a saying on the inside if you want -- and you're done!! -- If you're not enclosing it in a card, you can tie it up with ribbon so that it stays closed and looks even nicer. Hope this helps.

I have two. But with one of them I do not have the instructions on my computer. I'll TRY to explain it here:

Items needed:
one A2 envelope
two pieces dark cardstock 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" and 2 1/2" x 3 3/4"
one piece lighter cardstock 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
12" piece of ribbon

(Most of these instructions will make more sense when you look at my pictures.)
1. Fold envelope in half so that the two 4 1/2" sides meet together.
2. Fold it with the flap on the inside.
3. Open the flap and cut on the fold line down to the top of the envelope.
4. Stamp/decorate the inside of the folded envelope and the lighter piece of cardstock.
5. Glue/tape down the left side of the envelope flap. Leave the right side loose, this is the side the gift card will slide in to.
6. Place your ribbon across the bigger piece of dark cardstock.
7. Adhere the folded envelope on top (do not tape or glue on the ribbon, you want to be able to adjust it as needed. Just put adhesive on each side of it.)
8. Bring the other end of your ribbon up and over the folded envelope so that both ends of the ribbon are now together and can be tied.
9. Adhere the darker cardstock to the folded envelope. Again, do not put adhesive on the ribbon.
10. Adhere the lighter stamped cardstock on top.
11. Insert gift card and tie ribbon.
12. Wa-la! (hopefully! ;) )

I sure hope this all makes sense! LOL

Thanks to everyone! I'm off to making some -- I have 3 birthdays next week and I'm going to make them one for their gift cards also.
