I hope you are all doing well as we start August with a friendly card challenge. I have to be honest. I'm moving in less than two weeks and I'm living amongst cardboard boxes. They're e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.! My craft room is pretty much packed up. Whew, that was a reality check. I'm not going to say how many boxes I needed. Nope. I haven't made a new card for this challenge, so I'm using a card I made back in April. I hope no one minds. I don't think I used this card in a prior challenge. If I did, and I'm completely forgetting, please forgive me.
I made this card using Pinkfresh Studio stamps and dies. The stamp set was inked in Gina K's Amalgam black ink. I 'colored' the floral design with the coordinating stencil! It was so easy. I'm not a big colorer...so this was right down my alley! I then used the coordinating die for the floral image, cut it in half, then placed the ends towards the middle, so the middle cut was actually facing the top and bottom of the card. Does that make sense? Probably not, lol. I then die cut the words out and placed in the middle of the card. This beautiful card took a short time to make. It took me longer to pick out my colors for the flowers. I used my MISTI with the floral image, stamping multiple times for a crisp, precisely placed image. I think that's what I use my MISTI for the most. Stamping multiple times in the same location for a great, quality image.
How about that green envelope? It really completed the card.
For you August challenge, please make a friendly hello card! There were a couple hello cards in the last challenge that made this card design pop out at me tonight.
Good luck to all! Wish me luck as I move and try to fit my craft room into half the space!

I couldn't share too many details since it is a Dare to Get Dirty challenge, but I did use my MISTI and stamped the word Hello on my card.

Let my mini MISTI do the work on this card, stamping multiple times to get the rich black on the sentiment! Did my favorite inky technique for the background, wrinkle free distress.
No MISTI was used on this card but it is a Hello card I made for this challenge. It would please me to make another card when the tomatoes and pears are finished that I am canning this week!
Here is my warm winter hello card. I used the MISTI to stamp the image a few times to get it crisp. I’d like to try it for lining up the sentiment next time. I’d also like to try the Cut Aline tool to make cutting the sentiment out more precise.
What is/was the deadline for this challenge this month?
Looks like it was cut and pasted without changing the dates. Lovely card you created!

Oh, I forgot to add how I used or would have used the MISTI. I didn't use the MISTI at all though I intended to. The background was something someone had stamped for me some time ago. I did stamp the sentiment. I was playing with colors and sizes of the flower the sentiment is on. I stamped it without the MISTI intending to just use that as a trial piece. So, long story still somewhat long...I didn't use the MISTI at all. I started with a card idea in mind, changed colors on the flowers on the background, changed flowers the sentiment is on, changed sizes of the flowers, played around with card base colors, etc. It took far more than 15 minutes to make what should have been a 15-minute card. For some of us, a challenge is more of a challenge than it is for others. :lolo:
The winner will probably be posted when the next challenge is posted. Usually it is the first Monday of the month. With Monday being a holiday, she may not be posting. It often messes with a person’s schedule. Just keep looking, Linda.

Hi everyone! I am sending this from Colorado! I’ve been here since Thursday asked didn’t bring my laptop. Never even thought of it. I just got moved last weekend and then flew to Colorado. I am postponing the winner announcement and September challenge post until next Monday, after I get back to Pennsylvania (home). I hope you all had a great Labor Day!!! Sorry for the postponement.

Its your gift...you get to make the rules and change them...
Recently I was thinking about having another Shutterfly picture book made and I told my daughter that I think this time I want to pick out the pictures myself instead of the parent picking out the pictures for me...She laughed and reminded me, its my rules and I can change them if I want! So I will.
Hope your trip was all you wanted and needed...back to reality in PA!
