May 2022 MISTI Monday Challenge
Challenge Title: Pattern Play in May
Hostess: MISTI Monday
Keyword: MSP57
Date: May 2nd, 2022
Hello all! I hope your days of April were fine and that you're looking forward to these days of May. April went by so fast, it felt like there were only 14 days in it. May will probably feel like one week. When the weather is warmer, time seems to speed up.
Thank you to all who participated in April's challenge! Beautiful cards!
This month's card had me using my MISTI a LOT. I had recently ordered from Catherine Pooler's new release and I love the sentiment set. As soon as I opened my deliver, this card flashed in my mind.
The patterned paper trim, with the typeset words, needed a little extra color. I stamped a greenery image in peach to match the greenery/leaf dies. I made a little pocket in white and stamped the sentiment on it. I arranged the die cuts in the pocket along with some sequins that coordinated with the peach/gray/black color scheme. I wanted the patterned paper to really coordinate with the little pocket play I had going on. The card came together really fast and I love how it turned out. I didn't have anyone in mind to send it to, so I guess I'll have it on hand until I need it. I'm sure the perfect occasion will come along.
Your challenge this month is to enhance some patterned paper to create a new design. Mine went from a plain strip of paper with words to an interesting backdrop.
I hope you have fun with this challenge. I really, really had fun making this card.

I love the Misti - it is a game changer for sure. I love how the bricks turned out on my card. What started as a piece of subtly lined designer paper became a gorgeous brick wall. I stamped 3 colors on the bricks, thanks to the Misti.

Here is my card: MSP57 Talking Birds by lovinpaper at Splitcoaststampers
This was a fun challenge and it really challenged me. I usually use patterned paper for a background or paper piecing, but never ink over it. I used a stencil to ink over the pattern then stamped a greeting and a word on the patterned paper. I enjoyed using the paper in a different way.

Here is my card for this month's challenge Thank You for Your Service!
Happy Upcoming Memorial Day Weekend! I used my Misti to stamp the USA Flag on a panel of red and blue striped paper--I stamped a few times to get a solid image. I love my Misti! And, I love red. white and blue!

Here is my card...
Kindness by FayeMakesCards at Splitcoaststampers
I have a 25% chance of winning, provided there are no more uploads tonight!
It took my brain a long time to figure out how to do this, I have a couple more ideas but most of my DP is heavily printed! I must have a certain style of DP that I purchase, it isn't due to lack of DP!

Winner of May 2022 MISTI Monday challenge
Congratulations to FayeMakesCards! Her Kindness card is the winner for this month! Thank you all for participating last month! So sorry I'm a week late on picking the winner. It's no excuse, but my sewer backed up into my basement and the plumbers have been jack hammering in my basement all week and redoing all the pipes under what WAS the cement floor. Then I went to my retreat. WHOOPS!
Thanks for your patience.
Happy June!

I'm working toward my "Challenge Catch-ups" goal. This challenge is to create a new design with your patterned paper. My paper went from patterned rectangular strips to layered strip creating a paper weave.
Here is my card: A Bohemian Chic Paper Weave!
