Hi everyone! Apologies for being a week late, it's been a crazy few weeks. It's been a rough few months, I'll not lie, but things ARE looking up.
This month's card I'm sharing was mass produced using my MISTI and my Sticky Mat. One of my closest, best, childhood to adulthood friend's mom died in March. She had Alzheimer's for quite some time. My friend took care of her mother, making sure that the end of her life was spent in her home surrounded by family.
My friend asked me, after the funeral, if I'd make special Thank You notes for her to send people who came to visit, brought food, sent flowers, etc. Her mom loved boats and the ocean, so she asked for a sea/ocean type card and also to use purple, which is the color for Alzheimer's awareness.
I don't ink blend a lot, but I felt doing a purple sunset sky would be beautiful. I didn't have a boat stamp, so I made one on my Glowforge. I think it came out quite nicely. My MISTI really came in handy to make the cloud. I was able to daub Distress Oxide inks onto the cloud stamp while keeping it on the MISTI lid and that allowed me to achieve the desired look with the layers. I used my Sticky Mat from My Sweet Petunia to hold my cardstock in place while I ink blended. I also used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment and used one of the corners to help line up the die cut sky. She was really touched by the card and received lots of compliments.
Your challenge this month is to create a card or paper project with either a sunrise or sunset. You can ink blend or use any other technique you love.
