Question embossing paste vs texture paste -- are these the same thing?

I just watched a neat video using embossing paste different ways, but the one used is discontinued. I can't seem to find embossing paste on the normal craft store sites but I saw texture paste on Ranger's page. Are these the same thing? Google was not helpful. TIA

Jennifer McGuire did a video comparing them and for the most part they were identical but look for the video on Youtube and see all the ways she compared them.

Here is the video, well the blog post.  https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/07/video-texture-paste-vs-embossing-paste-giveaway.html

I have used texture paste, but not embossing paste.  I guess texture paste was easy for me to find in my local store.  It is most likely dried out as it has been quite a while and they do dry out.  I posted a question asking how to bring it back to life, but the general consensus is that you really can't as they do dry.

They're pretty much the same thing, and you can get the same effects with both.  It's also called molding paste and modeling paste.  My favorite brand is Golden.  I've had the same jar of molding paste since 2003/2004, and it is just as fresh and smooth as the day I bought it.  I guess I need to use it more.

Dreamweaver, who do a lot of metal stencils, also do embossing paste in a multitude of colours. I think it's Dreamweaver/ Stampendous now. Generally, embossing paste is very smooth, and texture paste will be less so, it depends on the effect you want. You can also colour white paste with ink, if you do this, remember the white paste will lighten the colour, so use an ink pretty close to the colour you want, as adding too much ink to get the right shade could make it very runny and hard to work with. You can also get translucent paste, so any ink colour below it will show through. Also, you can add glitter to embossing pastes, which is way cheaper than buying glitter pastes!
