Hey everyone!
First off, great to see Lydia popping in!
I've been out of touch the past few weeks. The last week in April I went to IA for 7 days. Once I got home my time was all about Bob before he had to go back to work. I've done pretty much zero crafting.
Currently, I'm spending most of my time on the sofa with small slow bursts of productivity. I pulled a muscle(s) and popped a rib a week ago yesterday and am still recuperating. Of course, i did this the day before Bob left out so I still have basic chores, like animal care, that must be done. Beyond that, most of my time is spent on the sofa with ice packs or pain pill induced naps. I'm improving but determined to take my time and heal properly
I am inspired by 2 challenges this month

I'm inspired by 2 challenges this month. I've not felt inspired for the past 2-3 months but this month I get hit with TWO! LOL
I'm going to do Julie's challenge. My journal will be a precursor to patriotic kits and individual items going into my etsy shop. Was supposed to be done this week but the whole rib cage thing kind of thew me out of sinc.
The other challenge is by Jessica at Paper Terrace. You may have seen some of her videos under her old name "I'm a cool mom"... she really is. LOL
Jessica has posted a $Tree Junk Journal challenge. Make your journal only from items you find at $Tree and your basic tools/ supplie on hand. Julie and I are both doing the challenge and planning to make our journal in a single day. My supply video will go up on my channel on Saturday and hopefully I'll construct the journal from start to done on Saturday. There may even be a craft with me video on this one.
Let's see what you're creating!

Hi DeeAnn... you are in the opposite side of the state from me. Maybe we can meet in the middle sometime.
My Tabby is part maincoon. Spoiled and chatty. Very much a lap kitty.
Just me and hubby here, too. Except for the 21 days he's on the boat - then it's just me. I get more done when he's gone. But wouldn't trade my time with him for anything... and I don't.

There's still time to jump in on DearJulieJulie's January Just Junk Journal Challenge. This video gives all the details. You'll find the link to this month's challenge FB group in the video description.
I've gathered items, completed the two mini challenges (I need better photos). Soon as I get business out of the way the next 2-3 days, I plan to spend next weekend finishing the challenge.
P.S. I'm usually a last minute challenge player. I've completed a challenge from start to done over the course of 2 days before. LOL I don't recommend it.

I would love to meet in the middle sometime. I am a slowwwww junk journaler. To be fair I tend to make more ephemera for my junk journals that actually journaling, lol. DearJulieJulie is a troublemaker for this ephemera addiction, lol. Journaling, of all kinds, is my biggest paper crafting love.
Good morning, everyone!
Super cold here... only 26*F but the sun is shining deceivingly.
Julie posted the new mini challenge in the challenge - Make 6 double-sided items. At least 3 must be a tag, an envelope and a card.
We must also use these items on each on:
lace
messy thread
fabric
word
doily
and 1 extra item of choice.
Normally, the mini's come together quickly for me. I think this one might take a little more planning.
Today, I'm all about blog posts and getting my editorial calendar and board set up. Can't get distracted from work.
What is everyone else working on?

If you really want a challenge, try this collab between Luise Heinzel and Pam @ The Paper Outpost. There will be challenges for the next 2 Saturdays plus this one where Luise introduces the challenge.
I think I want to try, I just need to get deadlines out of the way first.

Good morning.
I have a design team video uploading so will post a link when it's done. I'm working with Julie's Valentine Roses & Music digital kit. Soooo pretty.
That last one is all black and white. Haven't printed it yet but I can see where bringing in colored pencils would still keep a vintage tone... remember the 'color' photos from the 50s and 60s?

I've started an altered book.
I've found the perfect book at the thrift store, thinned out pages and made pocket pages and stamped images on some of the pulled pages and stained papers. I also printed some digital prints. I have a nice collection, now I'm ready to make ephemera and tags...

First off, I apologize for directing everyone to the Saturday Spectrum Art creations on-line sale. I never thought about it being a 'sale' sight so not able to post.
That said, I know I can post to Julie's Junk Journal Challenge. Here is her February challenge. I'm a bit late posting this as I instantly went to playing LOL It's a simple challenge this month and is fabric themed. My first participation with Julie was in her February Fabric challenge for 2019.

Good morning, everyone!
I vanished last week as I prepped for Bob coming home on Wednesday. I was also fighting with my iPhone refusing to upload videos. That's a whole separate topic. LOL
I'm behind on videos and making thanks to the phone issue. I do have one up today talking about #the100dayproject.
check out www.the100dayproject.org and come play.
Basic concept is to spend 5-10 min every day from today - May 24th doing something creative! Can be anything!

In addition to creating my junk journal, I'm using some of the same elements on card fronts.
I really like the variation from the trendy card designs that are flooding the market.
Plus the best part of the process is I'm using what I already have in my inventory with the exception of digital ephemera, printed on my choice of papers.

Bohodiva- I love your pages. I am not just saying that to be nice. I really do love your pages. They are so stunning. I love that DF Tayler Butterfly Ad.

There are so many great options out there. I think lock down really got people exploring their creativity.

To make sure I am SU compliant, I'm going to be taking the junk journal techniques and meshing them with SU products. Maybe this will give SU folks a chance to see there is a whole new world of things they can make with the products they love as well as showcasing our great papers and embellishments available to junk journalers.
I've been watching a video this morning by B.Reborn Art & Healing making some beautiful clusters and had an idea for our Eden's Garden suite.
here's the video that inspired me...

I hate to sound uninformed, but I really don't understand the purpose of a junk journal. Help!!!
Not at all! Thanks fo asking.
Sorry I'm just seeing this but I was really sick for about 7 days. Finally getting strength back to hop in here.
Multiple purposes:
To make something pretty from items that would normally wind up in the landfill
Make your own places to journal as opposed to buying a blank journal. Making your own allows you to impart your style and maybe more inspired to journal.
To try new art techniques.
just to be creative

Sorry I went dark for awhile. the last couple of days of February, Bob and I both came down with the stomach flu. Lasted 7 days before either of us had energy to do anything but sit at the table and play cards. I haven't been that sick since the mid-80s... and hope to never be again. Of couse, I am 60 now so talk about feeling the age!
I haven't gotten back to youtube. Still trying to catch up on business I'd not touched since before the holidays.
What's everyone working on?

Oh, so sorry you've been ill, but glad to hear you are doing better. Thanks for the info on the junk journals. I'm not too sure it's for me, but I'll keep checking out the videos to see if something gets my attention. God bless and take care!

Thank you.
Seems I've had an issue with getting my footing since the beginning of the year. Yesterday was my first full day back to work since before the holidays.
I will tell you that once you play, most find it addictive hehe

Julie's challenge this month is all about using your stash. Marching forward... or for me it would be Marching through the mess... but the mess is improving. Today I need to clean my filming table and set up the Stampin' Up! business shelf since I'm staying a dem for at least the rest of this year.
If you don't have a demonstrator you work with and need something/ questions answered, etc.. just ask.
If you missed Julie's challenge video, here it is...

Sorry I've been MIA yet again. About 3 days after Bob left out, I slipped in 1/4" of snow and cracked 2 ribs directly under my right breast. Lifting my arm/ bending over to do anything wasn't happening. I spent lots of time at the dining room table watching videos - not typing - or reclining in bed with the heating pad. those were my two most comfortabl positions.
Of course, this was done AFTER Bob had gone out so a lot of things didn't get done around here. I'm still sore on occasion but am pretty much back to working on things.
I've been doing videos on Friday showcasing things that can work for cards or junk journals. Here's my video on a flip pocket:

There is still plenty of time to jump in on Julie's April challenge.
She's doing 2 things - 1) giving us the chance to finish junk journals we already have started and 2) walking through the alphabet.
I am determined to finish an alphabet journal I've been working on for years!!!! I started the journal when i was teaching at Michaels over 15 years ago then pulled it back out for one of Julie's challenges a couple years ago - another ABC challenge. I've not been able to work on the challenge prior to this. I plan to start in next week.
Here is Julie's details video for this month:

Wow! I am so sorry to hear that. Maybe you need to be bubble wrapped for a while. Glad you are doing better, though. Still haven't tried the junk journal. Am still considering it. Thanks for your encouragement.
