Got home Sunday and have been on the go ever since. Bob left Tuesday. Now I'm trying to dig out the house and get things put away from my trip and the crafting I was doing before I left. Ugh!
I hope everyone has a fabulous day. Not about who you are (are not) with but how Thankful you are for what you have.
I still need to work on my November Journal. Today is all about trying to find my work table. I also want to take advantage of the 'warm' day to get some things moved back and forth from the studio to the warehouse.

Basically, for the first 12 days of December I'll be using digitals mash-up with Julie and Cara Brandon to make stuff that I will be putting in a quick 12 Days of Christmas journal. This style will make a nice quick list journal for gifts.
Julie has everything in her etsy shop 50% off through December 3rd. That makes this digital kit I'll be working with about $2.50!
Julie is also going to be doing TWO premiere videos the first 12 days of December. Her regular at 12:30 p.m. CST then the 12 Days video at 2 p.m. CST.

I loved my trip to IL and IA. I got lots of snuggle time with baby Savannah. She is the foster infant of Kassie's older sister, Jessica. Savvy is only 10 weeks old. Jessica got to bring her home at 5-days! She is such a sweetie.
Six precious days in IA helping Kassie get ready for the babies arrival.
Malina Ray arrived at 11 p.m. on Saturday night followed by her baby sister Neomia Marie at 11:20 p.m.
I'll have to snuggle pictures until spring when I make the trip to hold them for real.

Good morning,
I have a full weekend ahead so wanted to pop in while I was on the site this morning.
I'm slowly getting caught up in the craft room. I'm hoping to push through several things this weekend. I even made 3 cards last night... okay between midnight and 3 a.m. as I worked through a panic attack but I got to play! Felt good.
Today I'm painting the face side of 100 playing cards with gesso for my '100 envelopes' challenge. I don't want to buy envelopes for this and they take up room I really don't have. A large deck of cards, I can handle.
While they are drying I want to finish the 5 pages left from the 13 days of Digis from the Christmas challenge with Dearjuliejulie and Cara Brandon. I really got off track when my printer went down and Iost a couple of pages I'd had printed. I hated that as I was enjoying putting those pages together. I believe they are starting a 5 Days of Valentines next week. I won't be an 'elf' this time around, meaning I'll have to buy the digis from both shops but I do want to play along. Both of those ladies have beautiful digital pages to work with.
Tomorrow, I hope to clear off the rest of the work table, dye some papers so that I can work on the January journal all day on Saturday.
Sunday afternoon I'm playing with a group of girls on line doing the Journaling By 5s challenge. I'll leave a link here if you've not heard of it. I'm just ready to play with friends for a little while before the new work week starts. Oh yeah, Bob comes home Wednesday night so you know where my time goes LOL

I don't quite get the whole By 5s thing. Is the idea just to make as many journals as possible in a limited time frame? Seems to me Shannon Green is just quickly slapping stuff on each page in a hurry just to get things done. There has to be something deeper that I'm missing. Is it supposed to be a kick-starter for those of us who look at a blank page and are unsure where to start?
On the other hand, I LOVED her idea about using ONE 1-gallon bag for the collection of "junk."
I found the previous "Julie" video both interesting and disturbing. LOL
While I liked her idea of using old wallpaper books and maps, I have to be very careful not to hang onto a bunch of stuff that I don't need. Not only do I have a very tiny house but I also have mild hoarding tendencies. I just purged some of my excess ink, stencils and paper. The last thing I need to start doing is collecting empty food boxes, ruined clothing and dryer sheets! :-O

Yes, the process is to 'break up the white space' on a blank page and just start doing something. Often times, when we give our mind a chance to think - we tend to overthink and not just let the creativity flow.
As to the 'hoarding', in tiny spaces only keep the things you will use over and over, or items you find yourself going back to frequently. As to the other stuff, just keep what you need for that project - items like cereal boxes/ dryer sheets/ etc that you get on a regular basis you don't need to keep. Just hang on to them AS you need them. Does that help?
For old clothing - if you don't have something in your closet you don't wear, just hang on to one or two pieces from the thrift store that catch your attention. You'll find a couple of pieces will get you through several journals. Or check with a family member or friend to see if they have ONE item they can donate - WHEN you need it.

I started a new series on my YouTube channel today - Finish It Friday. I'm starting with finishing up my #12DaysofDigis I got off track with last December. I loved how the journal was coming togther before my printer died. I really want to finish this one.

Hey girls!
I'm still here and breathing. I Hope you all are doing okay in the crazy weather. We have 7.75" of snow on the ground. had a bit of a melt yesterday. Rain is to start about noon and turn everything to a slushy mess.
Bob is home until Tuesday so not a lot of internet time. More card playing than anything lol Though he did help me design 3 'cards' yesterday for my card chicks group here on SCS
My plan for Thur/ Fri/ Sat is to make my February journal. I do know from experience it is possible to make one in 48 hours. LOL I'd like to take a day or 2 extra for this one. ;-)

Hi Kelly I did a class run by Marjie Kemper on Facebook. It was a 5 day class. That’s now finished but she runs them from time to time. She’s currently offering an ATC one but I’m not interested. I did enjoy the class and was a refresher for me on MM.
I’ll check my pms...I don’t check them daily. Sorry. I do have a journal to start and soon.

Happy Wednesday ladies. I had a delivery today of a book that I saw on a journal page on FB a couple of years ago. I finally managed to order it as it is now delivered in Oz and doesn't cost the earth LOL. Not sure if any of you have heard of it but it's available on Amazon and is called The Antiquarian Sticker Book...oh my it is gorgeous and full of vintage and victorian image stickers. Even the paper in the book is beautiful and the cover for a future journal...oh my, but not sure I will even use any of it as it's that gorgeous. Check it out.

A couple of days late. I did have this on my planner to do but I took off early on Tuesday for a bit of fabric shopping and pay bills. Didn't even look at my planner to remind me it was Tuesday.
Here's the April Challenge:Make a 3" x 4" piece (think larger than an ATC but smaller than a card front)
You could use this item as a corner tuck, a pocket or a journaling spot.
This does not have to be flat. You could make a mini book to be included in a journal.
THEME: April Showers Bring May Flowers (hint for what comes next month LOL)
Must be made from JUNK such as a food packaging box, old file folder, etc.
Use the colors: Rain/ Water/ or Blue and White Tones
Use the keyword: MJJC02 (that's a zero)
You have all month. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

I do this but I call it "speed journaling" - it's just to get rid of those intimidating blank pages. Then I can come back to the journal when I feel inspired and do more elaborate things in the foreground.

exactly. the blank page can be very intimidating for some. Just getting something on the page without much thought opens the mental door to get other things out of our head and onto a page.
