Hi! Welcome to Friday's Mix-Ability Challenge. Our challenges are a great way to get into mixed media in a friendly and fun way. You can join any challenge at any time with projects like a card, scrapbook page, journal, altered art or 3-d project.


This weeks challenge is about revealing what's underneath the top layer. D�collage, an art technique, is the look of poster layers torn away in parts to reveal what is underneath.

Let's not limit ourselves to just tearing though so here are
IDEAS to get you started...

- Take away with a sanding block on paint or pattern paper.

- Tear away the top layer of paper, 1) from the center started with a craft knife or 2) from the side edges.

- Take away ink from the edges of an inked stamp before using it for less details.

- Rub away paint through a stencil to reveal the layer underneath.

Remember to use two or more mediums
for the project to qualify as mixed media and have fun!

Very interesting sounding! Sanding I do often, tearing occasionally ~ but that stencil technique sounds like something I'd really like to try out.

Actually, the technique I figured out for Lydia's crayon challenge two weeks ago would have been perfect for this ;), but I had great fun trying out the technique in your second photo - and I'll definitely be doing this again. Thank you!
