Welcome to another mixed media challenge! Here in the Mix-Ability forum, we approach mixed media in a fun and easy way using many of the supplies you have on hand. My challenge for us this week is to choose either a faux wood or a bubbly background technique. Get creative on your own or take a look at some of these techniques for ideas.
WOOD:
Faux Wood Frame (SCS tutorial)
(Youtube video by Kayla's Creative Corner)
(Youtube video by MayMay Made It)
Use two or more mediums to make your project officially mixed media. If you haven't done mixed media here before, congratulations on starting today! You can get an idea of what mediums are on this post "What is the Mix-Ability Challenge?"
When you are finished, upload your project to your member gallery and make sure to use the keyword "MIX468" so we can see it in the challenge gallery.
Enjoy your creative time and I can't wait to see what you make!

Here's mine. I had fun trying the bubbles, though not as much success as last time I did it. I think perhaps stronger colours work better. MIX468 Faith by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers
All our plastic straws had perished with age - I recently bought some paper ones but quickly discovered that they are NOT suitable for this. I'm wondering what on earth they are suitable for given how quickly it got soggy.

Sabrina, I too didn't get very dark bubbles at first and tried different aspects of the tutorials, but the most successful background that I have yet to use is putting pigment powder in the soap water. The brand I have is Ken Oliver.
Thanks for letting us know about the paper straws. I suppose the straw inside of some reusable water bottles might do in a pinch but could get stained in the process.
