Ready for a new Mix-Ability challenge?!! Our goal is to make mixed media easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!

This week's challenge is A JUNKet! Make something out of something you would normally throw away - junk mail is a great start. Do you have a junk journal? Make a page for that! I'm making Gel Press printed corner bookmarks out of the envelopes for my bills! I just cut the corners off of envelopes and printed on them with my Gel Press and acrylic ink.

Remember to use the keyword MIX418 when uploading your creations to the gallery, come back and post a link, and let us "ooooooh" and "ahhhhhh" over your works of art!

I spent most of the morning and an hour after lunch wrestling with a tax return and claiming expenses for DH having worked at home since St. Patrick's Day last year. I think they made it as complicated as possible to deter people from claiming that extra relief . This was a nice break. I was about to throw the mailer envelope out a while back when I spotted it was Tyvek - so that moved it straight into my keep and use later pile ;-). My net is a carboard book mailer (which cut beautifully), and technically the baby wipes left after using them for an inkpad would class as junk too!

For U.S. stampers, some of the USPS priority envelopes are Tyvek.

Sabrina, I've heard of Tyvek tape but not Tyvek envelopes. I thought Tyvek was just a brand name, but apparently I'm missing something. Can you fill me in on what makes Tyvek special?

BTW, love your card. The net and seahorse really make it special!

Here are some art journal pages I created through an online art journal class. I haven't mentioned technique as to protect the lady's copyright, but have mentioned the lady who ran the classes should others wish to check them out. I have checked the rules and there's no mention of not sharing in other forums.

My card idea started with the Sketch Challenge SC920 challenge, and I added a piece of doily from a recycled/ used luncheon table mat to fit this challenge. In addition, I'm working on my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking goal as well.
