Default Removing stubborn foam from rubber stamps

Since so many are going unmounted these days, I thought that I'd pass along a helpful tip that I discovered yesterday...

I recently purchased three wood-mount rubber stamps from Hobby Lobby's amazing clearance dealie-o. As you've probably discovered, some rubber separates from the foam much easier than others. Inkadinkado is one of the worst! Out of desperation, I searched for the Goof Off I knew was lurking in the garage, read the label to see if rubber was on the "do not use this on that" list, and gave it a go. It took a bit of doing, but it is the cleanest I've ever been able to get the rubber after removing the foam! I did wash the stamps with Dawn and rinse them well, just to be safe. There is a very strong odor (like old-school permanent markers), and I made sure to protect the work surface just in case of mishaps. Just thought you'd like to know...

I've used the Goof-Off too, had great results! You may have to let it sit for a minute, but it really comes off clean. I have unmounted 90 % of my stamps, and they are now in DVD cases. Love, love how it turned out! Each one labeled as to subject. Took several months to do them, but now I just go to my DVD shelf, and within seconds have the subject I want. I have cross referenced my Stampin Up as well. Any birds in the SU set, are stamped in my birds folder, with the name of the SU set. Not ready to split my SU sets up yet I guess.

My little can says "Pro Strength Remover" on the front, if that helps...
