I also put old tension curtain rods inside a bookshelf and line up my punches on them.
I have something similar to this with a wooden dowel rod and a couple of cup hooks under a wooden shelf. The cup hooks are screwed into the wooden brackets on the bottom of a shelf that now holds my jars of ribbon. Of course, I could use another one for my smaller punches, but it works well for my bigger Stampin Up punches (about 8 across).
Here's a photo of it. Note my dowel rod was already warped when I put it up, but it has been there for 2 years and hasn't broken *knock on wood* yet.
I use cigar boxes to organize my cuttlebug folders, I put them by type (ie., floral,Christmas, etc.) and lne them up. Works like a charm. I use a much smaller size cigar box for my "mini" dies also lined up by group and type. They are decorative and smell very nice.
I have to share this ...
I have wanted a clip it up for a while now but didnt want to spend the money so i have made my own
I used a lamp shade some threaded rod from the hardware store cement and a plant pot.the plant pot cost the most ( i went to get a cheep one ) but fell in love with this one .
That is genius...you even have more storage in the base! I love that pot too!

I use the flat rate mailing boxes from the post office to store my CS in - they are free! and if you don't like the look of it, cover it with some contact paper or patterned duct tape
I love this inexpensive way to make paper storage! Here's a how-to video on how to do it yourself!
I Love Things that will do double duty......When we go grocery shopping; I buy Jelly in Glass jars; same with Pickles .......
After removing the label with hot water; some have pretty details on them; I use them for putting my markers in; also paper & felt flowers...its great knowing that containers that hold food can also house our supplies in.......
I spent about 20 bucks in materials and made my own Stamp pad storage and a couple of other storage drawer things. I bought wood, foam core board, a can of spray paint, and a sample of Parsley Sprig paint! My "drawers" were little storage boxes, I just ditched the lids, flipped them, spray painted them and added drawer pulls (shhh, don't tell DH but they are the tips to some of his golf tees, LOL)
(Ignore the camera hound in the photo, LOL) Homemade storage
Mel your camera hound is adorable. I also love the storage you made!!

Hi,
Do you have any directions to making the stamps holder? I love it but I'm not handy at all, I think my husband would help me. I would really appreciate it.
Mel, I'm with Michelle, I'd love directions. I am actually fairly handy but would just love the dimensions for your boxes, etc. And the foam board - is that the foam poster board you can get at the Dollar Tree or Walmart, etc? BTW - if you DH is like my DH he won't miss the golf tees. LOL

I really loved all the storage someone made with the foam core board...Is it really that sturdy?? I would love to try to make some of them...Do you have the diminsions for the storage units you made...Really loved them.....
Instead of buying glass jars, I raided my supply of canning jars stored in the basement. My late husband was really into canning and I don't have a clue where to start, sooooo, I use them in my craftroom to store my stuff. They're all uniform in size, and spin very well on a rubbermaid spinning spice rack. I haven't decorated mine, but no reason why a person couldn't do it! Plus, there are a variety of sizes.
I also put my SU stamp pad holder on one of these spinners and it spins much better!
Note: I found plastic screw on lids in the canning jar aisle at Walmart. They're white and fit the wide mouth canning jars. So, now I have more storage options!
I use the wire rack that you can get at the hardware stores that hold canned goods to store my punches. I will hold two rows deep 6 across of the Stampin'Up punches. The entire rack holds 48 punches! I arrange the punches together with same things - circles with circles, hearts with hearts, etc. I have another rack to install to hold the new style of punches Stampin'Up sells as well as the assortment of M.Stewart punches I have found myself owning! You can add s hooks to the bottom and sides of the shelves if you want to.
i love dollar stores for storage items.
at christmas time they have these big peppermint sticks and the container is perfect for colored pencils or markers.they also have these tubes of hand cream that container is perfect size for various bottles of paints or pearl ex.it is amazing the things we spot when we get the ideas going in our head.
LOL

Sorry Ladies! I've been in the process of moving so didn't see this until now.
I will get some instructions up on my neglected blog.
The foam core board is the poster stuff you get at WM (and DH has NO idea about the golf tees, LOL!!)
Lately I've been into using more wall space. I've taken velcro strips and hung my alcohol inks and am going to put my Stickles on the wall, too...they make a rainbow effect and it's so pretty!

Thanks Mel. I'll be waiting anxiously awaiting your instructions. I'm in the process of re-doing my craft cave so these would be great.

I may have posted this before. If so, I apologize. I had an old spice rack that I wasn't using any more. I put it on the wall in the craft room, and have filled it with glitter, stickles, etc.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this so far, but what I did with ribbon is unspool it and wrap it around clothespins. Then I store them in a clear jar and it looks really cool!

Mel - Can you tell us what "bit" you used on the Dremel? I have a Dremel, but don't know if I have the right "bit".
Thanks for posting the instructions on your blog.

Wonderful thread! I know I have several items at home that I can repurpose today, including at least one foam core board that's been sitting in the garage for years, waiting for a child's class project.
Here are just a few ideas. I use empty tic tac holders (mentioned at least 2x earlier), empty altoid tins, and ziplock bags (again, mentioned earlier) to hold embellishments. For anyone who still uses film, the plastic film canisters are also good for small embellishments. I have two drawer thingies that are meant to hold nuts, bolts, nails, etc. in the garage. They are about 2' high by 18" wide, have a black metal outer casing, and they are filled with different sizes of plastic slide-out drawers or tilt-out cubbies. Before punches got to be so BIG, I stored all my punches in these drawers. I punched a shape from each punch and adhered the shapes to the front of the drawers so I could easily tell which punch was in which drawer. I could also store several smaller punches in one drawer, such as a drawer with 5 flower punches in it, or snowflakes, or circles.... I now keep many punches in shoe boxes on bookshelves in my kitchen area. I covered the end of each box with white paper, punched shapes from colored paper, and adhered the shapes to the white paper to show which punches are in each box.
I will keep an eye on this thread for more creative ideas!
I use glass jars from pickles, sauces, and such to hold buttons, glitter flowers, and my feathers. Also use the candle jars with the lids on them, they are glass too. Im not sure if anyone posted this yet, but thought I would add it

I just picked up a bunch of great shelves at Salvation Army yesterday. I am storing my wood stamps on display on one of them. It freed up a drawer that I can store less pretty things in now. I am so excited about my shelves lol!

I finally got to your website and LOVE the wee one in the pic. Thanks so much for the info. I think one could use the same idea on a bookcase shelf by adding an additional standard on each end to maintain the stability.

All the great ideas. Thanks so much for sharing. But what about all the primas?? I keep putting and reorganizing the packages of flowers. I just don't know what to do with them. Any ideas?? Kathy

So I"m not sure what size container primas come in but how about quart size jars like mayo or instant coffee comes in or maybe jars like ragu comes in.
And I agree - What are K cups?

For my prima's I save the containers that strawberries come in...they are perfect because they are clear and have a lid
