Default Ribbon in Ziplocs

For those of you that store your ribbon in ziplocs - how many different categories do you have?

Mine are wrapped on ribbon cards that I've made but I have the ribbon cards in zip bags. I do it by color groups. I don't have an outrageous amount of ribbon (plenty mind you), but I have been thinking of changing this system. I saw something on pinterest with them draped through wooden drape rings and those rings coming off of something else. I'm thinking if I did this and saw it out, that I may use it more.

I don't have mine in ziplocs, either, but I have them grouped by color, as well. Ribbons with multiple colors are grouped roughly by season/theme or warm/cool colors (depending). Clear as mud? Mine aren't wrapped on anything - just coiled and held together with a clear ribbon elastic and stored in the plastic boxes designed for storing embroidery floss. Portable and visible...

Mine are in ziplocs....and I just have the basic color categories and then every shade is in that same Ziploc....so I have black, white, green, blue, brown, red, orange, purple, pink, yellow....I think that's it...but you get the idea - just the basics. I must admit that after I unspooled and put it all in ziplocs my life has been much better.

Mine are very un organised, I started wrapping some around a wooden peg like we use to make dolls and store them in large candy jars, other are just put in boxes. I think the ziploc bag idea may be a way to save my sanity. Well, I just found myself a job for today. Thanks ladies.

Mine are unwound and in color families in zip locks as well. They all fit in a small bin now. Wish I had done it long ago!

Default Ribbon in Ziplock bags

I store my ribbon in ziplocks in a 2" drawer. I made paper dividers for it- on the far Lt is solid grosgrain, next is satin ribbons, and satins/patterns on a roll. Next I have a main row of Patterns on rolls. Next, Organdy ribbons. and on the far Rt, I have patterned ribbons by color families or theme. I keep collections like in-color sets together and 4th of july ribbons in one, halloween ribbons in another.

It saves me ALOT of space and is fairly organized. The ribbon is wrapped around either small cut cardboards/cardstock or I just rap it around my fingers and place it in small jewelry baggies. Sometimes, I have more than one small baggie together- for example- ribbons that are springy colors.
