Hi! I just wanted you to know that I'm voting for you! I thought I knew who I'd be voting for but......well, I changed my mind. This contest brought out the best AND worst in women and I'm not going to reward bad behavior with my vote.

I just wanted to tell you, I voted for you! Because you said what I wanted to say. I didnt tell all my woes and I didnt want to either because that doesnt really have anything to do with my wanting the scrapbox. Anyway, since I didnt get chosen I want to vote for someone with a like mind. Hope you win!! You have a great chance!!!

Why do I craft?
I craft, mainly to keep my sanity - LOL. It is a form of therapy for me, I think. It brings me happiness to share what I do with others. With a full time job, a house, and a family to take care of, that is one little bit of something just for ME (well, except when my 5 year old follows me downstairs, LOL) and it's something I have total control over - well, except for all of my supplies -- ha ha...
What do I do with my completed handcrafted projects??
Typically they are given away. I do not keep about 90% of what I make -- the other 10% are projects that perhaps didn't come out 'perfect' and I might tweak later on -- plus I do keep all of the cards that I make for my girls (though they will be given to them someday) I make things to send to friends -- I would love to have more time to be able to make lots of things to donate - either to chemo angels or for our soldiers...someday perhaps, when my girls are a bit older...
What the biggest impact any of my projects has had on me, someone else, or the world at large?
Weeellllll, hmmmmm. That's a tough question.
I don't know that I've impacted the world, necessarily, don't they say most artists true talents aren't recognized until they are dead?? LOL. Seriously though...
I made a set of items (pictured here) that brightened someone's day, and made her feel as special as she is...and in turn that made me feel SO HAPPY, for what she was going through at the time, it was HUGE to know that I made her day c'mon - what is better than seeing this beautiful smiling face??
Actually -- I know... THIS beautiful smiling face!
typing this has made me realize -- it's not actually the projects that have an impact on me -- it's the people. The people that I have met here on SCS. Alexa has touched my life in a way that I just can not explain. I squeeze my girls a little tighter - and really think how lucky I am EVERY moment -- even when they're making me crazy. Other people, whom I've been friends with for 3 + years and haven't met face to face, like Pam Wilson, and happystamper05, Okiechic (who REALLY deserves this scrapbox - if I could, I'd buy her one) BBarton, rgrohall, NicoleIreland, Plwwolfe, stampinCPA -- all of these ladies and SO SO Many more have all made a huge impact in my life -- and I'm grateful to them And I'm most grateful to SCS for helping me find them! |
**sniffle** ♥ you too! You're dead on with this one - paper crafting has brought us so many wonderful friends from such different places. It's really amazing.

You are a GREAT person!!!
It looks like you have the Traveling Dork Sisters all coming to visit your post. What a great post, you are so wonderful!!! If you win you should keep it for yourself. Then let the other ladies come over to stamp.
Thing 1 and Thing 2's mom had my vote all along, I even would have checked to see if it was possible to transfer my votes to her if we had both made the finals. But, now that we are both out of the running I have decided to read all 10 stories before voting.
LOVED the items for Alexa and the links to her story!!!
Congrats on making the top 10!
Good Luck,
Mel

Wow, what selflessness! Laura is a fortunate woman to have someone like you in her life. I know Laura and, YES, she does deserve something half as fabulous as she is ;)
Laura lights up any room. Her wit is unbeatable and she has such a generous heart!

Tracey - You are AMAZING!!!! I know I've told you that at least half a dozen times today, but I just can't get over your generosity. I am so undeserving of such an amazing act. Just knowing that you would want to do something like this for me... Wow. I am so humbled, shocked, THANKFUL. Your friendship is the best gift I could ever ask for. I really can't tell you that enough. Now I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket so maybe Dh can retire early and we can move next door.:mrgreen::mrgreen: THANK YOU!!!!

You have my vote Tracey and Laura.
Tracey thank you for posting this over on the "Muggy" MI MIngler thread. The humidity is the only thing that I didn't like about the weather in MI.

I saw this quote today and immediately thought of you, Tracey.
“What We Do For Ourselves Dies With Us. What We Do For Others And The World, Remains And Is Immortal."
- Albert Pike
It was my pleasure to vote for you.
